Do i need to connect the extender via ethernet or coax because i have the router in the living room and the extender in a farther room but i can't use the extender with wifi only with ethernet. And the wifi name and password are different on each the router and extender.
Does anyone know if after you have the extender set up can you connect ethernet cables to the extender and connect computers to the extender or can you connect switches and hubs to the extender
Can you give this extender a different SSID so you know your connected to it and not the router. That's what I didn't like about the old Quantum Gateway extender.
So I don't have any coax cord. The only thing that came in the box was the extender and power source. If they knew I would need a coax and other cors why TF didn't they include it in the kit.
@@lolnoob5015 hey I spent 2 hours on the phone with Verizon 😠 and the only thing I needed was a yellow ethernet cord. The yellow one. They told me to plug one end of the cord in one of the Lan in the back and the other end in the same exact lan on the other router. Press and hold the power button until it start to flash blue. Then wait until its solid white. Then unplug the second router then press and hold the button on the 2nd router until it flashes white then wait until it stops flashing this could take 10 minutes 😠 then if it turns solid white or a yellow color then your good. Also have your router on 2.4 not 5g. Because 5g is short distance and 2.4 is for further distance like down stairs tv or gaming system.
@@lolnoob5015 If you plug one end of the yellow ethernet cord in let's say LAN2 make sure your are pluging the other end in the exact same LAN which will be LAN2 as well. Make sure both routers are on
Cus he didn’t explain anything in the video that needed 4 minutes of time , he did a horrible job explaining how to set up the extender, I now have to find another video
Hi! Should my extender have the same name as my SON ? Does it automatically connect or do I meet to connect when I need it? I'm so confused. I've been messing with it for hours now and I'm lost. Thank you
This did not work on mine . But I have the coax cables hooked up on both of mine. My modem works but I can’t get the external internet network plug in the extender to work yet ..
@@nursefix-itorbuild-it3134 I just bought a new set of the newest super six modem and extender combo.from Verizon. 509 dollars Coaxes both plugged up . External plug won’t work on the extender.
So the signal will be much stable than wireless, it's like an ethernet cable (like how comcast does with their cable box to modem). Thank you for watching!

I had my service hooked up by Verizon guy and yes it has coax hooked to it coming from outside to a splitter to the modem to the extender . I bought modem and extender from Verizon and am doing self installation they have been no help ..If your going to set it up I would recommend using the coax cable with it . Also i think it will still work just plugged to the power using the method in this video. At least the WiFi part of it will. Not sure about the 2 net ports on extender. .I have coax on mine so what I did was, plug them into each other with an internet cable then I pushed the reset button on the BACK of both and waited 20 Minuts . Then you put the extender where you want.
I have both hooked up about 15 feet away from each other in the basement. I was thinking about moving the extender to the second floor without the Coax plugged to to it and just the power supply. That’s why I asked if the extender needed to be plugged to a Coax. All my computers in the house are wireless.
@@johnbrown4937 Thank you, I finally spoke to a guy from Verizon that gave me all the details. The reason the main router is hooked up to the COAX is for the IP address and the COAX only gives speeds of 100 Gbps. Since I have the 1K Gbps subscription the extender does not require the coax and an ethernet hooked to it. I live in a 3 story TH, 2500 square feet. So far I'm not getting the max I could get router and 1 extender as I should in the 2nd and third floors so evaluating the amount of extenders I needed we came to the conclusion I needed 2 extenders. Each floor is about 815 square feet. So we'll see when I get the extenders and test them out.

Nice sideways video perfect to watch at bedtime.
You said move it further apart then next scene they are in top of each each other 😒
Same thing I thought watching this video
Yep 😂
This is probably helpful for people that have an idea of what to do, but thanks for the effort anyway.
you can pair that also by using ethernet cable plug in to LAN port from the main router and the other one to the extender
Sorry to get involve but is Land 1 or Land 2
@@Enerolisaany
Ok so we can connect it via Ethernet instead of coax to be clear?
The entire point is for it to be wireless. If your going to use cable then you don't need an extender.
Extender is to extend the signal . So always keep it in a place where you don't get internet . Never place it near the router. It's not gonna help .
Do i need to connect the extender via ethernet or coax because i have the router in the living room and the extender in a farther room but i can't use the extender with wifi only with ethernet. And the wifi name and password are different on each the router and extender.
Exactly my question
it would be better of you showed the back of the router and extender
How far can you extend the signal?
Does anyone know if after you have the extender set up can you connect ethernet cables to the extender and connect computers to the extender or can you connect switches and hubs to the extender
all the above.
Can you give this extender a different SSID so you know your connected to it and not the router. That's what I didn't like about the old Quantum Gateway extender.
it defeats the purpose of this extender. What you want to do can be done with any router in bridge mode
Do we move the extender farther or closer
farther
