      My old Cube died on me Monday. Verizon sent me a new one. Customer service said the one they're sending me is better. I did some research from the receipt they sent me, and it's the same as the one in this video. FedEx delivered it today. I'll hook it up when I get home from work. It definitely has more options than my old device.

    I just received and set up the ASK Model. I kept my existing router because it had all my settings and port forwarding set up, so I set it up for PassThrough. The light turns green for PassThrough. I didn’t want to spend any time setting the ASK up. I bought the Plus plan and I get about 300 mbs down and 50 up. Overall, Im pleased, especially with the savings. $45 instead of $99 with my cable company. If you have a security system and central station, you must cut the firewall to minimum or it will not communicate.

    I received the new Verizon router about 3 months ago. I ended up opening it up and adding external antennas to the router. I'm not sure if I connected the external antenna to the right ports. I tried them all in different orders until I got the best signal. I was getting 20 to 30 up speed now I get 250 to 300 pretty consistently. I am excited to see what you find out when opening the router up. I did not find a SIM card inside. Also, there are little torx screws on the bottom that you need a long skinny torx screwdriver for. Good luck!

      The little torx screws are hard to see. Do not take the Phillips screws out. You will also need 4 little tab holders you need to use to hold them open so you can slide the top up and off

    Hey Nate, After using Wireshark and logging into the Unify UDM SE via ssh and viewing the ports I discover DHCP v6 is broken. I configure the Cr200a gateway for stateless mode for IPV6 and then into passthru mode. I then set the UDM internet port to single network and slack for IPv6. This should work for Ask, ARC ect. Hope this helps those that don't want to double nat ipV4. Other than Verizon enablig DHCP V6 and giving us a /56 "i would not hold my breath" this should work with other devices llike OPsense or other routers that allow these setting. Spent a day figurung this out.

Well after the 15 hour tech support nightmare they just put me through over their unreliable service (im in a rural area im less than half mile from tower with clear line of sight, I have 5G UW service on my cell, almost everyone around has Charter Cable Internet or Starlink) i finally got them to cancel my service. I was transferred 38 times over that period. Speeds were great when it worked, but it was extremely unreliable especially given I was the only one on the tower using their home service. Thanks for this video, I do not have the new gateway, I have the ASK, and I haven't gone into the settings for like a year, the firmware has been updated and this is what it looks/functions like now, minus the extra features of the new gateway. ...I've had the t-mo and Verizon, and was using the t-mo primarily because Verizon didn't have 5G yet here and so I set it up my router in bridge mode with the V unit, long story short, and now that I'm getting consistent results with the Verizon HI I've unplugged the t-mo and want to go all out with the Verizon gateway, I am a little confused best way to set it up with the new firmware so that the router is doing as much work as possible to keep the gateway doing the least it needs to do to keep it running smooth (and cool), I have the wifi turned off, and the radios turned off. Now I have the ip for the router and, as I said, it's in bridge mode, so, I'm trying to think how to best to set it all up, you mentioned the new DMZ settings, and I'm just a bit overloaded after watching the go through of all the settings. (I tried watching the how to set up a router vid, but, since the firmware is nothing like that anymore, I got slightly confused what to do). ...I'm about to rewatch the router vid, but, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Nate I read that the default IoT network on some Verizon routers on this SSID have full access to your network. www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-303332/ it appears so. I handle my device with my own wifi mesh setup so I don't use Verizon's. However most home routers have the option for "AP isolation" which puts a firewall up between the IoT network and your main network.

I know with the Home "Plus" they quoted me and I purchased (more expensive Service w Plus) 300 down loads / 20 up - were quoted min here in Central Texas. Thank you? But, anyway, so after watching the using your own router with Verizon HI video, which had the old firmware, I turned off the DHCP server by going to network connections/network server/settings/ and IP Address Distribution, changed from DHCP to disable and that isn't enough, I still have double NAT error on my router. I have it set to a static IP and have DMZ set to the router for 4 & 6. What am I missing? The gateway says it's in "Bridge" mode. I did not change the IP Passthrough, it is not turned on, this is the only thing I can think of. Yes factory default on ubiqui
    Factory default on new Verizon box
    Note when I plug Verizon into computer directly it works fine, seems conflicting ip issue

      Are you plugging into the WAN port on the ubiqui? You can change the ip address of the ubiqui to be different than 192.168.1.1 that the Verizon is. See ruclips.net/video/GKbBI38MML8/видео.html

    99% of this is Greek to me, need a trusted person to setup this internet up anymore. Currently on fiber but it’s gotten stupid expensive so we just got one of these but I’m clueless on most all of this setup.

      @ashleywynn4923 for the most part getting verizon 5G home is plug n play setup for most users. You'd likely just want to change the wifi name/password to match your current one so all your current devices automatically connect to verizon.

    Is this guy sponsered by Verizon? Or is it a genuine review

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  4 месяца назад +1

      this guy is not sponsored by Verizon nor gets any form of payment from Verizon. In fact this guy pays verizon $140/mo for two 5G home plus plans. If you have a contact to help this guy get paid by Verizon please let him know! 😁😎

    How do I get Verizon to send me the new gray cube?

      Your best bet is to go into a corporate store and see if they have one in stock.
