    I am so excited for this book!
    My deceased husband found Eragon the year it came out. Was thrilled by it. Brought it to me. Just saying READ IT. He was in love with that book.
    He passed away before 3 and 4 came out. But I bought them, read them and loved them.
    But the joy my husband got from those novels, i dont have the words to describe.
    He read and reread those 1st 2 books over and over.
    Thank you for continuing these books. They are magnificent.
    I got my kids and grandkids reading by passing them along. 😊

    In an AMA on Reddit a few months ago, I asked Paolini when we could expect to learn about what the Menoa Tree took. He said that it would most likely be covered in whatever book comes after Murtagh.

    Murtagh is Roran's cousin. No half needed. If Roran's father is the brother of murtagh's mother, then they are cousins just as much as Eragon and Roran are cousins.

      accurate, Garrow had no relation to either Brom nor Morzan, so both of his sister's children are equally Roran's cousins, I'm not sure what a half-cousin would even constitute

    • @winstonpoplin

      Maybe if your parent had a half brother, then that half brother had a child. That person may be considered a half cousin as they share half as much DNA with you as a full first cousin. This doesnt apply to Eragon im just throwing it out as an example of a "half cousin"@@fungushoney9958

    the Riders aren't good at being peace keepers? considering that prior to Galbatorix, we've been told that they were largely successful at doing so. Not to mention the sole reason they were created in the first place: basically ambassadors between the Elves and the Dragons. I mean, at present, they aren't good at it as there's only 3, but when they manage to rebuild their numbers, I wouldn't be surprised if Eragon returns them to that role... with some changes to ensure that a new Galbatorix wouldn't be able to rise again.

      @Chatterscompany 3 месяца назад +1

      Dunno, it is at least heavily implied that there was a ton of conflict in Alageasia during the time of the riders. They were great at keeping the elves and dragons from fighting, but I don't think that you can have a powerful group (even well intentioned) just imposing their will on people without heavy dissent.

    • @BenMan8881
      @BenMan8881 3 месяца назад +1

      @@Chatterscompany I mean... There were the Urgals. Prior to Eragon, they held animosity towards both humans, elves, and dragons, which is why they are partially responsible for creating Galbatorix when they killed his original dragon. But, when both the elves, humans AND dwarves considered the era of the riders to be a Golden Age, I'd say that not only were the Riders well received, the group's mere presence ensured that if there was any strife, it wouldn't last very long.

      "That movie was the biggest disappointment of my life and now you know my eternal pain."
      I couldn't agree more with you. But Garrett Hedlund's performance is what made the movie at least bearable for me. No one understands and plays the character of Murtagh like he does. He was perfect for the role. He was perfectly cast in this movie role and it's as if this character was created with him in mind. But he had the misfortune of ending up in a bad movie, a very talented actor who had the misfortune of ending up in a bad movie, who, as you might say, ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was probably disappointed too, but he honored hos contract to the very end. He does not deserve for the media or anyone in the fandom to lash out against him, and if they can't recognize talent when they see it and can't recognize that he was perfect for the role than don't waste you time and energy on them.

      Murtagh is set roughly one year after the events of Inheritance and is a direct sequel to the original four books (and The Fork, the Witch, and the Worm). The book will also come with seven original pieces of black and white artwork created by the author himself.
      Synopsis:
      (Quote) "Master storyteller and internationally bestselling author Christopher Paolini returns to the World of Eragon in this stunning epic fantasy set a year after the events of the Inheritance Cycle. Join Dragon Rider-and fan favorite-Murtagh and his dragon as they confront a perilous new enemy!
      “Christopher Paolini is a true rarity.” -The Washington Post
      The world is no longer safe for the Dragon Rider Murtagh and his dragon, Thorn. An evil king has been toppled, and they are left to face the consequences of the reluctant role they played in his reign of terror. Now they are hated and alone, exiled to the outskirts of society.
      Throughout the land, hushed voices whisper of brittle ground and a faint scent of brimstone in the air-and Murtagh senses that something wicked lurks in the shadows of Alagaësia. So begins an epic journey into lands both familiar and untraveled, where Murtagh and Thorn must use every weapon in their arsenal, from brains to brawn, to find and outwit a mysterious witch. A witch who is much more than she seems.
      In this gripping novel starring one of the most popular characters from Christopher Paolini’s blockbuster Inheritance Cycle, a Dragon Rider must discover what he stands for in a world that has abandoned him. Murtagh is the perfect book to enter the World of Eragon for the first time . . . or to joyfully return." (Unquote)
      After all this time my boy Murtagh is finally getting the respect he deserves! This is going to be a book from Murtagh's POV, in first person!
      I used to think "November can't come soon enough. I've been waiting for this kind of books for years."
      I got my copy of "Murtagh" yesterday (but I have 7 books on my reading list before I get to this one, and 6 out of 7 of those books are for a reading challenge on some website) and all I can think is: "I wonder if Garrett Hedlund is going to read this book." His excellent in character acting performance is the only thing that's good in the really-not-all-that-good Eragon movie, the only thing that saved this movie and made it bearable if you ask me. They never made a sequel or the other volumes into movies because they know they messed up the first movie and that no one will go see another one in the movie theaters. But Garett Hedlund's excellent in character acting performance is memorable unlike the movie itself. If anything, people should watch the movie to see a good example of a talented actor who was genuinely dedicated to the character he was portraying. He really does understand the character, it's obvious.
      My favorite line from the movie ('cause he's telling it like it is):
      "A son doesn't choose his father" -- Murtagh.
      I remember I once had a "dream"(1) where I met Murtagh on a castle's battlements during the night, and he was staring off into the distance, his back turned to me. He was dressed in all black, like in the movie, including a hooded black cloak. He was a few feet away from me. When he turned to me, there was so much sadness and pain in his eyes, so much raw vulnerability that it broke my heart. This is something I will NEVER forget. I always got the feeling that he was sad and depressed when I met him because he never had a caring and loving family.
      As Elizabeth Weatley said in her video, and as countless other fans have said before, I want to see him get the healing, happiness, and love that he deserves:

      Are you looking forward to reading this book as much as I am?

    • @michelled.4874
      @michelled.4874 9 месяцев назад +1

      Not every prediction turns out to be true, Angela can get it wrong sometimes. Even if some of her predictions came true, that doesn't mean that all of her predictions come true or that she always get it right. She's just as imperfect and fallible as any other mortal. Also, predictions/prophecies are very often "self-fulfilled" and people can reject predictions/prophecies in favor of free will/freedom of choice. That's what you have to keep in mind if the author decide to have Eragon return to Alagaesia in future books.

    • @BenMan8881
      @BenMan8881 9 месяцев назад +3

      there's also this: It never said when this leaving will happen. While he did leave, he may still come back. Perhaps, there'll be one adventure that has him pursue someone over the sea, past the Rider's new base or to the North or South. Something happens in that pursuit that prevents him from returning.
      I see something happening similar to what happens to Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Legends books. He left the galaxy to pursue something in the Outer Rim and disappeared, ending up dead in his pursuit. However, that's going to be a long time from now as he's also going to have a very long life.

    Dude, what’s a “half-cousin”?? 🤨
    Murtagh’s mom is Roran’s dad’s sister…
    That’s just a cousin! 😅
    It would be weird if they were cousins on both sides… but, I mean… medieval/fantasy royalty/nobility…? I guess it wouldn’t be entirely an unheard of kind of weird, hahaha 😂
    (I totally forgot about Brom’s last 7 words… that was an ominous pothole never explored… I really thought those would have been part of the final fight!?! I forgot about Tenga too!!! I thought that was going to be part of the whole “name of the ancient language” thing… but, then Murtugh just changed his true name and was able to use it and break his oaths… 😑)
    There were so many plot threads!!!
    And then, it always just boiled down to these books were just Star Wars plot points layed out over High Fantasy/Dragons… 😢
    He was 15 when he plotted these stories, I mean… I get it, it’s the rule of 3 that every Dungeon Master uses to make a campaign plot by combining two subjects with your own spin… but, they were sooo good when I was the same age as he was at the time! LoL
