Thank you. I sometimes find music distracting if I’m trying to concentrate and especially if I’m trying to learn something new. I really appreciate your kind feedback!
Thank you for your really inspiring videos I am only just starting out and keeping getting a block, so you are making me want to try some fun techniques
Just have to say how much I LOVE watching you paint and talk. It's like therapy when you end up feeling wonderful. I live in the great Northwest part of Washington state which has a lot of plein air painters because of the beauty everywhere. Love the way you teach, Thank you.
I have been transfixed by your videos - your teaching is the clearest I have witnessed in my years-long search for a clearer direction in advancing my practice of abstract art. I have found the transition from realism confusing and completely lost my way. Your no-nonsense and relaxed approach is so refreshing and clear. Thank you for your total sharing of your skills and experience. You are the most generous teacher; and I have followed many in my search as a paying student and lately free tutorials. You are the best - thank you so much. I can't wait to get started, but I will apply your teaching in respect of self-forgiveness and judgment of my efforts. I will go back to basics with much greater patience and not just concentrate on a finish. Thank you. Betty
I have focused on watercolours thus far in my painting journey of just over a year. I totally understand you using acrylics in a similar way to watercolours although your final piece has a very different look. I love your videos as they are instructive whilst being very enjoyable. They are helping me learn how to tackle this different medium so thank you.
Love this! Your work, your voice, your generosity and clear explanations are so helpful to this beginner in my 70's 🙃 this old hen is learning something new and loving it! Thank you so much! 🕊️
Hello everyone😊 The Winter season has inspired the colors in my latest landscape painting. I find that the colors in my paintings change from winter to summer etc. Does your color palette too change through the seasons? ☀️🌤🌱🍁🌻 ►► Get my FREE GUIDE - 5 Proven Ways To Loosen Up Your Painting Style www.danishpainter.com/5-proven-ways-to-loosen-up-your-painting-style
This is so beautiful! You are such a generous teacher and I really appreciate how you explain all your decisions and I'm learning so much from your videos. Thank you!
well, I gave it a go in watercolors, which was challenging as a newbie of any medium. I had a different result, but I liked it. thank you and look forward to your recent videos. So much to learn.❤
As always, I look forward to each video and so relish watching every move you make. You are my favourite teacher.... and please know your painting can speak.... so beautiful..... no words.❤️
I just found you and you are quickly becoming my go too. As a realistic landscape painting most recently I am striving to become more abstracted in my art. Love you hints and becoming more loose and abstracted in our interpretation of a scene.
Your comment made my day, thank you SO much! I painted realistic landscapes for years. After I mastered the techniques and knew how to paint landscapes that looked like a photograph I honestly got a bit bored. And I knew I wanted more but I struggled to find out what that was. For me the answer was that I wanted to make the paintings more about "how I felt" about a place than the way the landscape actually looked (I hope that makes sense because I feel its hard to actually put it into words) I am still learning how to loosen up and express myself through my paintings. And I remind myself it is a marathon and not a sprint :) I'm happy that the videos can be helpful and inspiring to others. So thanks for watching and have a lovely day :)
I always wanted to paint… I even bought the acrylics and some brushes. I have canvas and also the sketch book. I cannot stop watching your videos, you make it look like if it was easy. This type of abstract landscape it’s really what I would like to paint someday. I just have so many questions. Thank you for your amazing work you are a wonderful inspiration.
First step is interest and then dipping your toes in. You already have some paint and brushes so time to get painting. There will be ups and downs (we all have them, comes with the territory of being creative) but don't give up! Experiment and try things. Wishing you a lovely creative journey, you'll get there. Greetings from Denmark :)
Thank you for watching Estelle and for taking your time to give feedback on my video. Much appreciated. Have a lovely day & thanks a bunch :) - Marie Louise
Hi Peer and nice to see you here again. I thank you for your kind messages of support and feedback.Wishing you a great weekend. Greetings from northern Denmark :)
I really like your style! It helped me to add a few things as tools and definitely to loosen up! Thank you so much. I am using oil paints but thinking of switching to acrylics… have you paint with oils before?
I love your free flowing work .. may i ask how you display your work? .. do you frame without glass ?.. because it is acrylic .. do you paint on stretched canvas at all .. as they are so easy to hang .. thank you for your lovely work.
wonderful tutorial. What color crayon did you use toward the end of the painting to warm the horizon and parts of the foreground? It was a perfect choice!
I love your work and I am learning a lot from your techniques - can I please ask what masking tape you use as mine keeps tearing the surface of my paper, even after I have put it on my jeans first! I was using frog tape.
I love your painting and I`am very thankful for these wonderful videos and your teaching is so quite and peaceful ! may I ask you if you use retarder to kepp the colours longer wet ? What other things do you add in your painting. Is ist possible to give a list of the materials under the videos? Thank you!
Great video! Two questions, first, as an acrylic painter, how did you end up choosing to paint on paper? Also, what kind of crayons are you using? I think you said in another video that they are water soluble? Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful. I would love to try something like this but I always find i push the small details too much. I did see you have a specific video about that so I'm going to watch that next
Thank you John! I still have days where I kept going when I should have stopped before adding too much detail. When that happens I put it away for a few days or a week and come back with “fresh eyes” to simplify it. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching & have a great weekend. - Marie Louise
Hi Marie Luise, wonderful painting again! What acrylic brand is that Ultramarine blue? Is it Golden? I cannot find that kind of tone with the winsor and newton or Amsterdam brands - thank you!
Hi Antonio, yes the ultramarine blue I used in this particular painting is in fact by Golden. Most of my colors are Winsor&Newon but I had run out so had to use this one which is Golden Ultramarine Blue High Flow. So you spotted that correctly - that is really cool!!
I am absolutely loving your video tutorials! Your paintings are breathtaking! I never considered using water-solvable crayons and/or pencils. What brand(s) do you suggest?
Wonderful, I'm so glad to hear it! If you already have some crayons and pencils I would try those. I have about 5 different brands but keep coming back to Neo Color II by Caran d'ache and Woodie by Stabilo. There are lot's of brands I haven't tried so I'm sure there are others that would work great also.
Hi Marie Louise, I wanted to ask about doing trees in this loose style. I get the idea about painting clumps of trees in an abstract style but what about individual trees? Winter trees with just branches?
Yes it's a fine balance between staying loose and adding details isn't it?! I don't know if this will help but I did a video on loose winter trees with branches in this video: ruclips.net/video/0w04CIbCfDo/видео.html
No intrusive music, a calm, articulate commentary and a demo of just the right length. Another inspiring work. Thank you.
Thank you. I sometimes find music distracting if I’m trying to concentrate and especially if I’m trying to learn something new. I really appreciate your kind feedback!
I wonder what it would be like if followers could send you photos of their landscape...to see how you would paint their landscape!
Thank you for your really inspiring videos

Thank you for not playing loud distracting music. I have no idea why some artists do but thank you for not 🥰
Fantastic tutorial as always.
Interesting to see how you loosely structure the work without it getting messy.
Something that I always struggle with 😬
I love watching and listening to your videos. Thanks so much for sharing.

This is good, I like your approach. Much like mine! I am lucky to live on the Isle of Oxney in Kent (look it up). Huge variation of landscape views.

My pleasure John, thanks for watching.
I love your style. I am just starting with acrylics. Do you gesso your sketchbook paper before painting?
Lovely, thanks for sharing

Inspiring atmospheric work and love the way you pronounce 'sub-dood' Marie Louise.

wonderful tutorial. What color crayon did you use toward the end of the painting to warm the horizon and parts of the foreground? It was a perfect choice!
I believe the crayon was Burnt Sienna by Caran D'ache. Thanks for watching Chris and greetings from Denmark :)
I love your work and I am learning a lot from your techniques - can I please ask what masking tape you use as mine keeps tearing the surface of my paper, even after I have put it on my jeans first! I was using frog tape.
That was beautiful ❤️.Are u using cloth to wipe extra water ?
Enjoyabls style. Thank you.
There is another color besides burnt Siena and ultramarine blue. At minute 2:06. Is it an umber or yellow oxide?
Very beautiful....!
Thank you😊🎨

Hi Matt the pencils are called Woody and made by Stabilo. They are really great and I think you'll enjoy them :)

Woody crayons
Very nice! But what do you mean by "crayon"? As crayon is pencil in French, I'm confused
schön😊
❤❤❤
Really enjoy your tutorials and style. Do you let sections dty before continuing?
Yes, there is often some drying time In between layers. But since the layers are pretty thin they dry rather quickly.
Absolutely beautiful. I would love to try something like this but I always find i push the small details too much. I did see you have a specific video about that so I'm going to watch that next
