Those bathtubs don't hold heat. She'd be smart to put pink insulation in the back, between the tub and the wall.
@@llee8325 Thanks for the suggestion! I actually do have insulation (rock wool) on three sides to keep the heat in.
So impressed that she can use the ladder to get down from the loft carrying her cat! and that is a large beautiful cat!
I really admire the way she took a shell and learned the skills to turn the shell into a home. I also like the way she tucked a couple of bookshelves into the tiny - you don't see them in factory models.
My answer to kitty litter is to put it outside in a rabbit hutch. The rabbit hutch sits against the house, you cut a small doorway for kitty with a cat flap to get into it and no more cat shit smell. The bonus is that kitty also gains a small outdoor space. Spread the word.

Very impressed with this woman and her home. She's like me only a whole lot younger. She's already achieved what I dream of. Getting rid of the accumulated "stuff" is a huge challenge. We all should be living more like her.
This was probably THE coziest tiny home that I've seen. It had real homey home vibes and was perfect for it's person & kitty. Love the colors, love how it is perfect for her. Well, well done.

The setting is ideal tiny home living. She is secluded in a camofloging cluster of trees ( even one tree that is flowering and fruiting). She has no other humans close by around her, so it is extremely quiet except for the songs of birds, but, she does live safely near enough to another house in the distance. She is living, "in the woods" without the possible wildness problems of actually living in the woods. This is tiny living at its best. I love it! I really love her choice of location for her home. It is a beautiful, peaceful, oasis. A home snuggled into the embrace of trees, birds, flowers and fruit.
Kitty, plants, birds, and books - what more does one need? Beautiful home - love your refinished furniture too!

I found this video so soothing, and affirming. Great to see Kristie take on a project, finish it herself, and always with an eye for nature (her plants!) and the birds. It is really what the tiny house movement is about. Kristie has given us all a template for how we could all better manage our living spaces. Well done.
I love everything about this home. It's in a lovely setting...it's like the home has its own cozy cocoon in the trees!! She did a lovely job on the inside too.

I clicked on this video because I, too, have decided to do a tiny home from a shell and finish it myself, so I thought I would get some ideas. WOW. Kristie is extremely organized and her space is absolutely one of the nicest I have seen. My biggest fear is that my tiny home will look like some kids tree house that looks as though it will fall in at any moment. But Kristies' encouraging comments and incredible craftsmanship and organization have given me hope. Thank you for sharing this video and your home Kristie!

In 7+ years of watching TH designs, this has to be one of my favourites. So many synergies to what I would put in a TH. Books, cat, repurposed old furniture, stock bath, teal colour. And it was all done by a single female who just wanted to do it herself! Love it.

So glad that I got a chance to see this video! The idea of living in a house that one ibuilt with their own hands i's wonderful.
So enjoyed her home tour, the "enchanted" forest setting was a nice private oasis. Loved how she also considered every inch of the home for her cats needs as well (super important). Overall, how at peace she is because of the "bunker" she built to comfort her soul and keep her spirit happy. Agree, that sharing a life style with like minded people and of course tiny living helps one realize they have everything they truly need. Beautiful!

Of all the tiny house films I have seen and a Registered Nurse of 46 years this is my favorite hands down story. This is about finding ones self and building a “home” both which are so empowering! I Love your story! You should continue and offer updates about your furniture refinishing projects. I also love to read and have so many books I went to a kindle as a space saver and found the unlimited 10.00 a month deal a big money saver even over thrift books!. I also have a Rogdoll kitty. I love how u built your own house and how wonderful it has been to design it totally for your taste. Thankyou for sharing.

That’s either a rough lemon tree, or a macrophylla lemon tree. And either case, I think she’s got some really wonderful lemons growing on her property. And, we all know the saying, when life gives you lemons, she’s definitely got to make lemonade out of these 😆

The house is really cute. My only issue would be the kitchen. I would definitely need either a small oven or a larger countertop oven and at least a two burner movable cook top or hot plate. The fridge is just too tiny, too. She admits that she doesn't like to cook. I do cook a bit, so if it was me, I'd have to figure out how to make the room for that. I wish that they were legal in more places. My 20 year old would be interested in this if it was a realistic thing to do in Massachusetts. He can't even afford an apartment on his full time income. It's really discouraging.

I'm not sure if I've ever met a tiny house dweller who felt trapped in their home. I'm sure they're out there but so far I haven't. I have seen a good amount of bus and van lifers who have done it for a few years and then found roots and started families. My take on it is, if your going to build a tiny house on wheels, don't make it anything other then a home, that way you'll always feel like your in a safe comfy place.

im 78 now but surviving a divorce in the early 1970s i took over my late dads tool shed and made me a tiny house. was in it for 3 an half yrs. was the happest days of my whole life.
Love the endcap kitchen! I feel like I don't see many of those in tiny houses. Very inspiring to see someone without building experience make it happen and make so many good design choices along the way. Can we talk about that bathtub?? Or the reading nook?! I hope you read this. Get pine pellets from any pet or feed store no tracking put in a sifting litterbox or buy a Breeze Litterbox system no litter just pads. Build inexpensive cat condo outdoors with your skills and tools and a kitty door and she can go outside in sand or cedar chips which can be composted as mulch! She'll love being in fresh air surrounded by birds.
PLEASE get a second cat. They are social animals and you will see her light up after a while having a species buddy. Try fostering to get the perfect partner. Be happy.

Thank you! I will look into that litter. I want to build her a catio at some point! I actually had another cat, but he died from cancer. She got along great with him, but (so far) she has been aggressive to any other cat she sees. Thanks for the suggestion of fostering!

Kristie is such an inspiration. I love the inside and what she’s done. Her can-do spirit is really inspirational. I never knew you could get so much furniture in a tiny house! She’s done it perfectly. And what a sweet person she seems like. Certainly has a happy cat with television on 360 views. She’s in an amazing spot with all the trees. How could you ask for more. I never knew you could get so many plants inside either especially such a limited space. She doesn’t seem to have any problem at all in that aspect!
Wow if I had a tiny house this would be like this & love it situated within the trees, my back garden goes into the woods & I have lots of bird & squirrel feeders & houses I love it… I adore the build, she reminds a bit of myself especially with the decor, colours, books, blueberries, plants, cat & nature lover that’s me all over 😀 yes I think this is my all time favourite tiny home 🥰

Your colors are spot on. Your DIY pieces of furniture are also great! Recycling is a must. Would love a tiny just like yours, sans the indoor pet, I’m allergic. So I do calligraphy and cursive writing and tiny watercolors. I’m retired but active. Also like your outdoor setting so cozy and in touch with nature. That’s an A+ for your home.much love.

Absolutely love it! The plants! A woman after my own heart ❤️ especially the birds/dinosaur connection (I miss my chickens and my turkey.) Her house is great, it would have been one of my dream tiny homes; unfortunately now I'm mobility limited, so I'd need single story. What a glorious stroke of luck with her parking space! Mmmm, I'd love to be in all those trees in the middle of what looks like pasture.

One of the best tiny houses I've seen. It's almost exactly what I would want for myself. Some very clever elements. I love the bathroom and I love the drop down table with book shelf behind. Great job. Hope you enjoy it!
