- After much heartbreak, it was a pleasant night with Trudy as she brought us another BEAUTIFUL baby!! This foal wasted no time grabbing our attention and I can't WAIT for y'all to meet her!!

To see that sadness for Cool and the relief for Trudy come crashing down hits everyone in the heart. The comments all bare this out that when you broke, we broke for you.

Katie, the “just chill, I’ve got it, I’ve got it” we’re absolutely true words but I do agree with you that the loss of Cool and then trying to save her baby was playing on your mind. Your “I’ve got, I’ve got it” we’re just as much for yourself as for your team. I have thought all of the babies born lately are gorgeous but this little girl is stunning. You did an amazing job and congratulations on the beautiful baby and Trudy’s safe delivery.
There was a lot of tension in her voice, for sure.

@@bevinchurchill4046 Yes, Cool had been acting out a bit kicking her stall etc. Katie had the Vet out a lot to check on her. Katie had started treatment on Cool’s leg which she hurt kicking at the stall walls. Katie said that by the time they got to the barn Cool was gone and they performed a emergency c-section to try and save the baby even performing CPR but the baby couldn’t be saved. Cool had a hemorrhage which apparently is very rare and there was nothing Running Springs could do. Having lost my first horse in a similar way (meaning it was quick and nothing could be done scenario) I am sure Katie and the entire team were devastated. Katie said they buried Cool with her baby. I remember Katie saying this was Cool’s last pregnancy. 💔
Girl you NEVER need to justify your actions during such a tense situation, you know your animals way better than any viewer. Mama and baby are here safely and at the end of it all, that’s all that matters!!!!
Your tears made me cry, both happy for Trudy and heartbroken for your loss of Cool and her foal.

Births always make me cry, but when she started crying, the water works wouldn't stop. Then she apologizing for helping Trudy? No, just no. Both did awesome and the little one is beautiful!
I cried for Cool and her baby too. Ive had to try hard to not think too much about the sweet mama and baby that were lost. So happy Trudy had a safe and quick delivery.
I also have to give kudos to Abigail!! For not being a horsey person she certainly has adapted and become quite competent dealing with all the critters. Great job to the whole team, including Jonathon being a sweet and supportive hubby!!

Super early for this one and I must say seeing you cry after the tragedy of loosing Cool and then Trudy's baby being born broke my heart! I cant imagine how emotionally difficult it must of been for you! Trudy's baby is beautiful and Cool and her baby will be looking over them both ❤❤

The minute you teared up, I started bawling. I can't imagine how scared you were. So thankful that Trudy and her filly are healthy!
Katie we cry with you… we laugh with you…we pray with and for you…we’re with you through the highs and the lows. You’ve been blessed with a gift that brings life into this world and it’s an amazing gift to watch. I have kids your age and I see you and think of them if that makes sense. You’re my perfect example I show them, that anything is possible at any age if you truly and honestly want it. You’re the example that I show my kids that with hard work and dedication and MOST IMPORTANTLY to have faith in GOD that all things are possible! When you asked to pray the night VS Code Red became yours I showed my daughter that with GOD anything is possible! You’re proof! You prayed over the auction that night with a humble heart. You put HIM first before you even placed a bid. Look what happened! The skies are not the limit after all ! 😮The limit is endless with our LORD!
The Lord works in ways that we cannot comprehend. You lost Cool and her baby and in the same foaling season you were given a TRUE BLUE MIRACLE of Seven. You’ve said yourself that there’s no reason other than GOD, that he’s not only alive but he’s working inside and out! The fact that he’s not just alive but to actually be thriving with casts on all four legs is proof that he’s a not just a beautiful gift, as all babies are, but he’s a true blue MIRACLE! He’s also smart too! The little spitfire can stand up in four casts and hobble to the gate and yell for food?! He’s not just food driven, he’s GOD driven! We will all keep praying for him to continue to defying the odds. Praying helps us feel like we are sharing in this amazing little miracle too. You’ve been chosen to receive a gift that has survived and continues to defy all the odds. Seven is a honest gift and testament to the whole world what the LORD can and will do! ( HIS WILL SHALL BE DONE, not ours) Seven is a miracle that GOD chose YOU to have! I think about that fact alone and I’m in awe and a little envious.😮 Seven is in my opinion your biggest answered prayer so far! You are going to be able to not just tell Seven’s story but you’re going to be able to show it! Yes it will be expensive but it will be worth it! The LORD has given you everything to be able to give Seven the BEST fighting chance of a life You’re going to have proof that miracles do happen and micro-preemie foals can survive . I will pray for the first person to argue with you that they don’t four or five years from now.😂😂😂 ( they won’t know what to do when you come at them with your response 🤣🤣)
It brings me comfort the statement we are all of GODS creatures. I think of Cool and her baby entering the gates of heaven together and they’re grazing in the field of all fields. Cool left her mark on this world through all the babies she gave to this world. For whatever reason she and her baby were called home. Like you said life continues on the farm. Trudy gives birth to another stunning baby and Seven is still defying the odds. The LORD has filled your life with so many wonderful blessings and so much love. If you were told to count your blessings it would take you forever because there’s just so many blessings and I am sure so many more to come. ♥️ I wouldn’t be surprised for Cool’s story to come full circle and you end up buying a mare whose lineage goes back to Cool. Now wouldn’t that be something?! That would be another of GODS true blue miracles! I hope when she has a baby you name it Truly Cool or Cool Blue Miracle 🤔😉☺️ Thank you for letting us in to share in your journey. It’s humbling to watch so I can’t imagine what it feels like to actually live it. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU AND ALL OF YOURS FROM HUMANS TO FUR BABIES! 🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️♥️
Katie, don’t you worry one bit about helping the mares have babies… this is your job, to care for these mamas and babies and make sure they get everything they need. You help as much as you think they need!

I cried tears of sorrow with you over the loss of Cool and her baby, and I am overjoyed to cry tears of joy with you over the safe delivery of sweet Daphne. The care you show all of your animals is so very evident, thank you for sharing with us.
It was heartbreaking to see you crying with relief over Trudy's delivery. The tragic loss of Cool and her foal was devastating. Thankfully, it was an isolated occurrence, and though not easy, to put it in the past. Cool will always be in your heart, but there is joy to be found in the new births. Bless all of you.

Yes - I cried too when my mares had their babies- and helped them through their process. I remember my 1/2 welsh/Shetland cross mare had her son- talk about a conversation between the two of them. My Gelding Ferrari was looking through the window watching the whole birthing process and he thinks Jai is his son. Ferrari was a Purebred Arabian gelding that loved baby horses and kids. Congrats Katie.... :D

How stressful for poor mumma horse. I've helped pull out calves but never horses. You go girl. This is experience for sure. You did amazing you looked so calm. But inside i bet your stress from everything is overwhelming. You did right helping. My paws a birthing cattle guru. He says help with pressure,if you have any concerns. What a beautiful big baby.
