Indy said “Give me a minuet until I talk to this baby. I just pushed out the biggest baby you’ve ever seen. I’m tired and in pain.” She needed a minuet to lay and rest until the love could ensue. Good job Indy, you deserve so many treats after this big baby boy. ❤
I LOVE when Katie steps in and helps...especially when the momma is in pain. What hard soul would ever say something that suggests she shouldn't step in. Continue to help the mother's Katie. I love it and so do they!!!! Gd bless you.
I was paying attention to when she was going to step in to help. Watching Indy, she was quite relaxed and stunned. She didn't mind Katie coming in. She actually looked quite thankful. Anyway! I would've stepped in about 15 seconds before Katie did. I thought, okay, go. She talked about going but waited about 15 seconds. I had to tell myself this isn't live. You've seen Walter older. She knows what she's doing! And she stepped in. It was perfect. She helped a bit but Indy and Walter did such a good job! My goodness! It was a perfect foaling!
Agree I can't understand people who see it as a bad thing. Thank God she's right there if needed. She talks so calming and encouraging them. I don't care what anyone thinks, it matters and her horses whom she's connected to, appreciate it.
I have watched almost all of this years births and it clearly shows that all these mama love and appreciate anything Katie does in all of the moments . From helping get them out to rubbing the babies warm. It’s amazing to watch ! Even the relationships she has with all of the babies . It’s just amazing..
It is so amazing that there was once a chance that Indy wouldn’t be here without you saving her life and now look at her beautiful story. Indy and Wally are so stunning together. I hope he’s a true black as it’s even more unique and precious. I can’t imagine him as an adult with how big he is. What an impressive baby!
Wally is my favorite of all of her babies, I have been following her for a couple of years now and if i could ever have one of her babies, this would be the one.
I love seeing how happy and in love you are with your mares and their new babies. Oftentimes with very little sleep so we know it’s authentic and we’re seeing real emotion. She had a gorgeous foal!
I believe Katie stepped in far too much. Let the horse mama do what comes natural. Let the horse mama own her own birth. Don't put human emotions into this. Way over the top in my opinion this was.
Why do I ALWAYS tear up and cry EVERY TIME Katie comes and helps and when the baby finally makes his or her first appearance. It’s so beautiful and Katie loves her babies and their Momma’s so much. I just cry every birth video, tears of happiness. Yes I clench up 😬😬 with every push too..😂😂😂 Katie is a horse whisperer, a cow whisperer, a goatie whisperer, a donkey whisperer and of course a dog whisperer too!😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤ I think she could whisper any animal. She is going to be a fantastic Momma herself someday. For now though, she’s found her true calling and it’s so beautiful that I cry tears of pure joy. God Bless You Katie and Family! ♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️You’re a remarkable beautiful woman and I am so glad that you popped up into my feed.
Such a beautiful birth. Katie is my hero! Jonathan is such a good husband getting in there and helping. Love this family dynamic. Much love to you all.
How merciful you are to your Mare. She is trembling with post delvery shakes and pain. That pain med you gave her..and she stopped trembling.. i never saw anyone do that for a mare on You tube.
Pain medication? I have never heard of this before. Seems to me that we are interfering too much with nature in this particular case. I have posted above a couple of times. I would ask anyone who has experience in this field to comment. Seems to me that although the owners love their horse mama, they are going overboard. They are simply not allowing anything to proceed as nature intended it. Us human mamas will experience pain in a natural childbirth, and many of us choose natural over medicated. The animal kingdom? They give birth much more efficiently than us humans. Should we be putting human experience onto the birthing of animals? To give a horse medication in birth, may mean that the mother horse does not react as she should. It may mean that the medication makes her too relaxed, it makes her not do what nature tells her to do. I think these owners went way beyond what they should have done. I do not agree.

As always owning horses was my passion and showing them as well. keep me posted on this little /big guys progress. Congrats !

Katie is the best horse doula ever💞 How many mares get their own personal doula’s!!! People pay a lot of $$ for theirs!! Absolutely love seeing this! He is going to be a huge horse!! Hopefully Katie keeps him a stallion! Those are going to great genes to pass around!!
I love witnessing new life coming into the world. It doesn't matter if it's human or animal; it's just beautiful! A little hint when drawing up a syringe: whatever volume you need, inject the same amount of air into the vial and then draw up the medication. For example: if you need 5 cc of banamine, inject 5 cc of air, first. It makes it so much easier because you're not fighting a vacuum.
Foals really should be standing and eating within an hour of the birth so sometimes an extra boost from the humans is necessary and since Indy can be aggressive toward her babies the first time they try to nurse it can take extra time to get her babies nursing. The reason for the time limit is that if the baby doesn't eat early enough it can become so exhausted that it loses its ability to suck effectively and without food, it will only get more exhausted so in some extreme cases they may need to tube feed the foal its first meal so it can gain enough energy to nurse on its own.
Lol from the sounds of your accent, and the way he was up and down, a few times, I think I would have called him southern comfort. He should be a big boy. 😊😊😊 love from canada.
