Oh I had no choice but to listen to 80's music bc my kids were addicted to MTV. I have quite a few faves from that era but you're right the ones I like reminded me of 60's music. Only the Lonely by the Motels is one of them.
Had to look it up on Google a bit ago. Paul Young did pass away from cardiac arrest back in 2000 at the somewhat young age of 53. Guess I wasn't aware of that. He helped form an earlier band in England named Sad Cafe. Two of their better known songs were My Oh My and Black Rose. When it comes to The Motels, I hit re-play often on their song Suddenly, Last Summer.
Tonithenightowl A local radio station starts playing Christmas songs on Thanksgiving or the day after. Here is one from 1984 they play often and I'm glad they do. Love the song and could listen to it year round, actually. Now, I'm saddened to find out that Paul Young, the guy we were talking about from Mike & The Mechanics, was the lead-off singer for the song. I don't remember this at all lol However in all fairness I never listen to Christmas music, I find it depressing. Always glad when it's over. lol :o)
