Never tired of this guy he's just great! Wish more sessions of him with any big music store companies just would love to hear his passions, riffs, free style playing!
Fortus live tone is excellent. It helps to be phenomenal player, but not all phenomenal players have phenomenal tone. It compliments his playing. He stole the show on some of the jam thingies they did when I last saw them.
What a cool guy and an amazing player. There's something to be said for a guitarist who essentially develops their own language on the instrument. Those rich voicings speak to me more than anything else in hard rock.
Fortus is such a genuinely nice and humble dude too … it’s pretty cool to watch a CME video and say BOTH of these guys have taken time out of their day to reply to me at random on Instagram for no other reason than to just interact and instill some wisdom. Thanks for being so cool guys
Sooooo glad to hear that 70% of his sound in STADIUMS is from a 22 watt amp. I CANNOT stand when every reviewer and commentator say 15-25 watt amps are “good for practice or small gigs”….
I dig the tone he gets with the Falcon. I modded my Gretsch G5120 with TV Jones pups, upgraded pots, wiring, etc...but it still doesn't compare to the Falcon and that Magnatone amp.
Might be blasphemy but I think I prefer him over Slash. Don't get me wrong, I love Slash's style but there's just something next level what he does with those giant and beautiful Gretsch guitars.
Fortus is my new favorite guitar player! Saw him and Slash playing off each other during Knocking on Heaven's Door and Fortus was leagues above Slash and I really like Slash. Fortus and his hybrid picking skills just really sets him apart.
THANKS FOR WATCHING!!

Richard is an absolute legend. Love his playing and attack.
Fortus is such a cool guy and great guitar player, a real hero of mine! thanks for this!
Thanks for watching!! 🤘🤘

Richard is a SUPERB guitar player. He is just SO GOOD. Love to hear him playing every single time❤
Wish I could spend a season learning from someone like Fortus.
Don’t even like anything GnR since I was a teen.. but always love seeing and hearing Richard Fortus share. Such a class act.
totally agree Richard and Duff make the band great they are all about the music
Love Richard's playing and tone. His live guitar/amp tone is really superb.
These clean tones have to be the finest i have ever heard !
Love Richard's playing!

Such a cool down to earth dude! Man that tone sounds so clean and crunchy!! I'm gonna check em out! 🤘
Applying for the Stones guitar spot? Surprising jangly sounds from a hard rock guitarist. I like 👍🏼
My favorite guitar player
I hear ya!
These are some incredible tones.
Magnatones rock indeed. I own 2 but won't stop until I own every model
Richard es un maquina, el amp suena buenísimo, genial entrevista, gracias.

What a tone!
Amazing player!
Rich is a very talented guitar player! I'm a big fan
The CME demo is why I bought a Magnatone STARLIGHT
Sooooo glad to hear that 70% of his sound in STADIUMS is from a 22 watt amp. I CANNOT stand when every reviewer and commentator say 15-25 watt amps are “good for practice or small gigs”….
Right?? I have a 20 watt friedman head into a 2x12... it is LOUD
If you can put a microphone in front of it you can do a show with it
F***ing loved his Gretsch tone at the show last week
Awesome sounding amp and what can i say, Fortus knows how to play.
I dig the tone he gets with the Falcon. I modded my Gretsch G5120 with TV Jones pups, upgraded pots, wiring, etc...but it still doesn't compare to the Falcon and that Magnatone amp.
I just brought one 3 Months ago from CME and I love it.
Is a master, great guitarist
Don’t stop…Believiiiing!!
😂😂😂
Did a double take. Thought it was Steve Perry circa ‘83. Running a Gretsch into a magnatone like Billy Gibbons.
That m20 ❤
Steve Perry playing that picker, Schon better watch out. Haha
people that have the vocabulary to define sound in words are amazing. I can't.
Surfer dude Sean Penn`s rock n roll twin brother.
What overdrive pedal was he using with the Twilighter? Such an amazing amp!
i would like to know that as well. Richard is amazing as is his signature Falcon and the Magnatone Twilighter
Slash also uses magnatone. Not sure if he even still uses marshall anymore
this guy is from the future
His use of Marshall isnt changing. The magnatone hes getting a sugnature of is basically just a single channel marshall made by magnatone.
what happened to the Supro he was using?
yeah canadian tuxedo!
Wonder why Keef didn't use Magnatone. Seems like the perfect amp for him.
Wait, that's not Steve Perry?
it is!
It's a stoned Steve Perry.
Makes me miss Izzy even more. No chickin pickin in “Rocket Queen” and “Move to the City”.
Never heard of the guy and a Gretch into magnatone is the furthest from my tone but sounded good.
He said the same thing about Supro a couple of years ago. I guess if you pay him enough he’ll play anything.
Seems like such a nice guy…
If Keith Richards goes, Ronnie has a sparing partner.
Terrific video...
Thank you!! 🤘🤘
❤
Would love a Magnatone, just too pricey!
Might be blasphemy but I think I prefer him over Slash. Don't get me wrong, I love Slash's style but there's just something next level what he does with those giant and beautiful Gretsch guitars.
i watch him play like my nanna knit balaclava, very skills
Fortus is my new favorite guitar player! Saw him and Slash playing off each other during Knocking on Heaven's Door and Fortus was leagues above Slash and I really like Slash. Fortus and his hybrid picking skills just really sets him apart.
Slash looks very different these days...
That dude has been hanging with Slash
The best guitar my favorite
I guess no more Supro after he's hawked them for years.
Great player and great tone, but when you're mic'd up through a pa you sound huge
Richard Fortus is low key better than Slash.
Nothing low key about it, plain as day to me.
He's technically a better guitarist but look at the riffs and solos Slash has written. It's about legacy not technical ability.
@@stephenharrison7514 they said better, not more famous. 2 different things. as a guitarist he is leagues beyond slash
No one is better than slash.
Go back and listen to "appetite for distruction" and "use your illusion" back to front and come back to me
@@MetalMarauderagreed.
Richard is great but guess what slash is the best guy in guitar world and he is incredible!
btw, my name's Richard too
This company is investing a lot of money to convince you that this thing sounds good. It doesn't.
That wig looks spectacular better then his playing
Sorry, but I hear nothing special about the Magnatone to merit its price. I can hear annoying fuzzy tones in its overdrive, too.
Another poser Yes men to Axl army
He blows slish off the map
What a dreadfully messy tone.
Glad to see Rich back at CME!
