Just a little insider information: after the stream ended, Doug kept the code on, pretended he forgot to turn it off, and made a discord and chat announcement saying it was safe about 20 minutes later when most chatters had moved on. He proceeded to kill maybe 50 more gullible chatters that night, and all he could say in discord after the massacre was "Gottem."
I was one of these chatters.

Why do people hang out in chat after the stream ended though? I mean I understand getting there ahead of time to not miss the stream but once it's over, move on to discord or another stream?
Offline chat is a twitch culture thing that some communities take part of. They will chat in there sometimes hours after streams end and before they begin.

@@Sora_3347Well to be fair, XQC has like a 10x bigger audience and also extremely different type of content (one that may include gambling). React streamers either have one of the youngest audiences, or one of the most toxic.
Doug puts a LOT of effort into cultivating his chat community. Almost all viewers start on youtube, and his vids put a huge emphasis on chat interaction. New chatters want to be a part of that community so participate earnestly.
Its all very well executed by doug, and the effort in the long term has majorly paid off.
