Steve Perry and Freddie Mercury...best male rock voices
And Robert Plant 🤩
And Bruce Dickenson, if we consider metal as an offshoot, and closely related to, rock.
Oh and Meatloaf.
Too Much Heaven, Bed Gees and Think of Laura by Christopher Cross. Play the last one first. Get back to me and let me know that I am crazy.
Don’t forget Mike Patton!
... and Brad Delp and Geoff Tate.
can we just pause a moment and give homage to that VOICE! live, on stage clear as heaven! Yasss!
@shelly bay I saw them Live during the "Escape" tour and Steve Perry's voice "Ain't No Joke" !
"He has a good voice." ~biggest understatement in music history :)
I agree 100%...It is a good thing they recorded this for the ages
Forgive him the shirt. After all it WAS the 80s 🤣
And he was sexy af even in that shirt!
@Beth Roach79 I'd rather see a little moose knuckle than drawers!
I'm old. What can I say? LOL
constancewsca damn sure was!!
80's = Crazy close + Big Hair × fun music
@@theaffiliate4208 these years suck - wished we could go back
Steve perry is a vocal god. The second you hear him its just over... youre hooked.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!! Gives me CHILLS every time!!'
And not a freaking cell phone in the air! Everyone paying attention to the stage, I miss those times
...cellphones back then were as big as bricks lol and no HD cam 😅
@@BLaCkKsHeEp Lol remember dial up modem and aol
@@skynetterminatort100 haha hell yeah. and going on the roof to fix the antenna so you can watch TV
@@BLaCkKsHeEp right...and the phone was on the wall with a curly cord and we would wrap ourselves in them while talking and the cord would be so long it could reach every room
@@skynetterminatort100 shit man i saw a video of this teenage girl trying to figure out how to dial on one of those old school telephones LMFAO man, it was hilarious
If you really want to hear what his voice can do, listen to open arms he just belts that one out.
Listen to "Feeling that way or "Mother, Father"
Makes me cry every time.
In Wheel in the Sky he hits a note that isn't even human. I was a journey fan since the '80s and I never knew that sound came from him until recently. The man is a God
They didn't nickname him "the voice" for nothing. It was smooth as silk. He had some trouble with it, but its finally coming back to him.
Everyone was singing “when the lights go down in the city“ at the Giants World Series game in 2010 and then the camera flashed to Steve Perry in his private box and we all freaked out! I mean freaked out… It was awesome.
Or 2005 when White Sox won, he sang it for millions at parade in Chicago
I had to go look this up, it looked incredible!
I saw the video of that, it's here on You Tube somewhere! THAT was SOOO COOL!!
@@patticrichton1135 A friend of mine called me at work in the middle of the day that day and said I got two tickets to the World Series today can you leave work and meet me there? It was amazing it just happened so fast I was not even expecting to go to the game… She knew someone at the ball park who had two bleacher seats to give away.
Everyone likes this song. One time, back in VA, I was at a goth club for some live bands playing. Between bands, this song came on and everyone, including the bartenders, was singing along. A club full of goths, singing our hearts out, to Journey.
Journey was something special. Steve Perry's voice was amazing and the musicianship was stellar. It was of that time too and that decade.
Steve Perry's voice *is* amazing. Listen to "No Erasin'"
Open Arms or Faithfully by Journey from that same concert. Epic. He can sing. Listen to the words in Faithfully. Open Arms is probably their most popular song. Treat, he wears that same shirt. Keep on the Journey
Faithfully is my favorite Journey 😍
@@jeanettedegiulio8220 Yep I can see why, the words makes me melt.
Yes yes open arms AND faithfully
Oh hell yeah! ;o)
Open Arms is the best... at that concert it was xtra good
Journey was the hardest “Touring” band of the 1980’s. 9 years non-stop but, that’s what successful rock groups did. Steve Perry is known as “The Voice”.
Today’s music sucks because the Internet and Electronic age has made Artist lazy as hell. They no longer have to be hungry and fight to stay on top!
When I’m high and thinking imma chill and all the sudden a song comes on and I feel the need to turn up!!!🤣🔥
80’s....cmon now. Forget what he’s wearing, listen 🎶🎶🎶I saw this tour....unbelievable energy. Mother Father, Stone in Love....🎼🎶😎❤️
No auto tune, no click track bullshit....talent....raw talent!🤘😎go down that rabbit hole....do it now.....😂😂
You should listen to Steve Perry’s solo song “Oh Sherrie”
Do all of Journey. You wont be disappointed.
You can play this song in the middle of the Sahara desert and the dude on the camel going by will say " I know that song"
Other great Journey/Steve Perry songs:
-Open Arms
-Faithfully
-Wheel in the Sky
-Foolish Heart
-Who’s crying now
Greatest rock voice ever. By the way my cousin Steve Smith is/was the drummer for Journey back then. Keep rocking the hits man.
The drummer from the early 80's? He was awesome!
@@shellilawler1334 Yes. He played with them from around 78-85 I believe. When they had all their big hits. He actually came back & played with the new Journey band in 2016 for a few years but that didn't work out for some reason so he left.
Your Smitty's cousin? How freaking cool is that? Did you ever meet Steve and Neal?
@@yorkiemom6144 I wish. Steve grew up a few towns away from me in Mass when we were both younger. He then went on to college in Boston & then got into the music biz & hooked up with Journey which was lucky for him & their band.. He's still a great all around drummer including rock, jazz etc. Been awhile since I've seen him.
@@smittyboy13 , that means that I saw him live in Seattle in 82 at 12 years old. He’s a TERRIFIC drummer. Thanks for connecting here!
Do "Oh Sherrie" (by Steve Perry of Journey, the guy in the yellow leopard print shirt!) next!!!
YES BAE YES
Best male vocalist ever my friend!!!!!
Any of the songs from this Houston concert are amazing. This is Journey and Steve Perry in their prime.
Yessss...they blew up Houston that night!!! Great concert.
"THATS HOW YOU SING!" you cracked me up man 🤣 🤣
I swear dudes hit higher notes than women can lol
Fuck yeah, kill dozer!! Please tell me that's from what I think it's from.
@@anthonymalgiero4215 Colorado?
@@abnnuzzinicholasclay686 yeah
Anthony Malgiero yes
LOOVE Steve Perry, Journey was never the same without him, but what an amazing legacy with the band, and Randy Jackson (American Idol) became their bassist this year again after working with them back in the 80's. Steve gets a pass for his cheetah shirt, i was a kid in the 80's but i remember worse fashion choices than that back in the day lol
Play this loud at last call anywhere and just sit back, watch and enjoy
Discovered reactionist since lockdown. You're the 🐐
totally live? really? freaking amazing! voice and the music is above all!
love your reaction!
Freddie sung all over the place Steve Perry is the smoothest ,purest high notes ever to me
Check them out doing Who's Crying Now and Stone in Love also done live from Houston.
I was lucky enough to see this band in 1983 I had just turned 10. I loved this band and begged my dad to take me. He hated this kind of music, but he took me. Thanks Dad, RIP. I miss you everyday.
one of the best rock voices ever most ppl know this song very famous rock song, they have such a great catologe of songs try... Sererate Ways ...Mother Farther Sister Brother ...open Arms ... give them ago you will hear the range of his voice and they sound better live than studio too xxx
Don't forget Who's Crying Now (Live in Houston, too).
Steve Perry is better live for the most part. In Mother, Father if you listen closely he sounds like an instrument hitting those super high notes towards the end. I really thought it was an instrument the first few times until it just hit me what it was. Totally amazing and always on pitch. Just the other day a Journey song came on and after a few minutes I thought to myself, “ why is he so off key?” Not terribly but enough to make me look and then I realized it was Pineda. Nothing against him but just not the same chops. Perry’s tone is so top of the line.
Do Journey who's crying now. Great song.
You're really missing out if you've only heard 2 songs. By now I'm sure you've really been blown away. Journey with Steve Perry have so many amazing and iconic songs, they wrote, instantly recognizable to Journey fans. Steve's vocal range is phenomenal and soo beautiful. Listen to wheel in the sky at the end Steve comes in with Neal's guitar solo and hits high notes that will blow your mind!
Raw talent right there! No autotune!
You want to hear pure beauty? Check out: When you love a woman.
Ah, yes... one of the greatest voices of all time
I'd love for you to react to Wheel In The Sky, my favorite Journey song.
check out Journey's videos separate ways, when u love a woman, faithfully, wheels in the sky, anyway u want it,open arms,i'll be alright without u,send her my love!
It was awesome, wasn't it?! Hard guitar and beautiful harmonies & lyrics! Perfect combo!
You gotta do more Steve Perry and Journey one of my old faves and I love your reactions! You make me laugh so hard sometimes!
Definitely react to Journey's "Open Arms"!
One of the rare moments you can say it’s better than the studio version. Nobody can hold a fucking candle to this man.
Love Journey and Steve Perry's voice, it's so solid!
Yup the shirt was considered cool back then! And yes, I'm from Houston and I was at this concert! It was insane! Faithfully by Journey is badass too! And why is it when u light up, I have to join in?😁
Get on the fantastic Journey
Live, no autotune, the best. Thanks for reaction to this classic. Steve Perry, the greatest.
Journey - Faithfully. So romantic.
Perfection Steve Perry beautiful voice 🤩
Who crying now from this same show is awesome
“The ‘movie’ never ends, it goes on&on&on”
So true.
He has an amazing voice, even live! I would have never known!
Steve Perry’s voice is one of the greatest of all time! Love me some Journey!! 🙌💖
Fire reaction my guy!!!
3:33 "Where the fuck did he go?" lol! He's commanding the stage so everyone can hear him good! Makes him have a good energetic stage presence too!
“Who’s cryin now.” From this exact concert pleeeease! ✌️
Yes!! I am telling my age now!😜 my happiest memories were in the 80’s as a teenager and I tell you music rock and roll was all we knew!! I love it!! Keep doing what you do man!! You crack me up!! Tarzan hair... hahaha ♥️Tennessee
On point!!
It was the 80`s. Before you were born. I was 21 when this song came out. We listen to the song, dont care about the shirt.
Steve Perry aka "The Voice!" The best rock band ever !!!!
Leo, your SMILE 😁 is one of the BEST Smiles I’ve ever seen !
I hope you SMILE Big every single day of your Life 😁♥️
Check out When you love a woman by Journey.
Journey when you love a women thank you love your reactions to everything you make my day
This song was so fire that the intro was put on an Atari game track, playing continuously. I remember when both came out…miss those times.
I tell all my friends that this song is about me, because i am a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit!! Lol
I have met Steve Perry, and he is a very nice, and talented man. Much love to you and your family 💕
You ROCK our world, Mr. Video........yes, you do...............................................
"he's a good singer" ummmmm.......... it's STEVE PERRY!!!!!!
Bro gets hype af for these ol bangers😂 good to know they still appreciated
Just saying freshman year of college 02-03 obsessed with Journey!! How did I not see this vid? Well happy now! ❤️ u and can’t wait for new Harry Potter!
I love Journey. The look on your face when you recognized the tune & you realized this was gonna be fun! Seeing you smiling, laughing & having a blast listening to this music is fantastic.
I love your reaction. Made me smile and it brought back a lot of memories. I've loved Journey for over 40 years. We had a lot of musically talent bands and solo artists from 70 to 99 but I shouldn't generalize.
Please listen to more Journey it will change your life!! One of the best voices on the planet! He just turned 70...... damn
Loved your reaction. What a great song Steve Perry can definitely seeing his butt off. Thank you so much for sharing with us.❤️😀👍✌️🌼Love and peace
I'm a long time Classic Journey and Steve Perry fan! I'm more of a Steve Perry fan!!!! (And leave him alone with the shirt!!! It's AWESOME!!!....lol...)
It's always nice to put a face with music that you know.
Classic Journey was in their prime in 1981 for their Escape album and tour. Between 1981 through 1983, Journey was on top of the music world. This concert alone was and in my opinion will ALWAYS be the BEST concert from them!!!
Steve Perry was named 'The Voice' by singer Jon Bon Jovi. And that has stayed with him all these years. The stage loves Steve Perry, but his fans love him MORE!!!
Another performance you should react to from this concert is 'Mother Father'. That performance is 100% a Masterpiece!!!! From each of the members to Steve's voice!!! It really is a MUST SEE!!!
Thank you, very well stated! I recommend Mother Father as well.
@@laureldonald6213 ...... You're welcome and thank you!!
My mom is from LA, I grew up here the same, and she was hella into the 70's and 80's music scene in the city so I grew up on her CDs as a little kid from Journey, Prince, Blondie, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Whitney Houston, all of these amazing artists, and Journey for better or worse is my childhood no matter anything lol. They're a treasure and Steve Perry was truly "The Voice" as his nickname served him. Still, another worthwhile and great reaction, Leo! You're the best of the best!
My Journey!!! I so Love them. Love the the part when you said you couldn't even lite your joint.
☆LONG LIVE THE 80'S☆
