Thanks Kat for sharing the festive wedding in Turpan. This brought back so many childhood memories, especially the music by those grandpas. 😊I had never been to a Uyghur wedding but we can all remember the music played on the back of a truck (that had not changed) coming and going many blocks away! My hometown is Urumqi which is not far from Turpan but I had only visited Turpan once. It was during the hottest days of summer, I remembered it was 44C (110F) degrees. However, we mostly stayed under miles and miles of grape vines and the stream of irrigation provided by Qanat (坎儿井)kept us cool. Turpan is a special place to visit no matter the season, if you know where to look. There are 56 ethnic groups in China, 55 of which are ethnic minorities. The Chinese government gives many preferential treatments to the 55 ethnic minorities. For example, they can go to school for free for 3 more years than the Han people(12 years or even 15 years for minorities, Han people only have 9 years free education ), and it is easier for them to go to good universities (even if their grades are not so good). The government also helps people in poor areas build houses for free and distributes various electrical appliances to them for free.

Xinjiang is a beautiful place indeed. In addition to the scenery I liked two things in this short episode: 1. The cool berries, healthy and should be tasty, which passersby can pick up? 2. Your beautiful eyes.

Turpan is definitely my place. I love this kind of berries and grapes. What do we know about these archeological sites, guys? I bet the dances are not at random. There is a ceremony attached to them like : girls warm up, the couple dance, the male dance, female dance, bride and daughter in law dance etc.....is it true?
the one I showed for a moment in the video near the beginning is apparently 2000 years old. yes some of the dances have different purposes to them, like the one where the women dance in a circle around the bride, or the bride dances with her mother in law, or the bride and groom are tied together, etc. there was also lots of random dancing for fun

They reported that horse auctions could fetch more than millions dollars a fine horse! Hope you can visit more of the cities in Xinjiang as each city has a bit of the characteristics!
Hope to see some more of Xinjiang this summer and next year 😄 stay tuned
This eye-opening video has a marriage of reality with happiness! :D
Fascinating how preserved the language, culture and music is across almost 5,000 kilometers
The beauty of its people, culture, and environment calls me to visit Xinjiang soon. Nice video as always, we learn from you without fake news.
Your guide sings beautifully. He's really the hope of the village.
You're videos so interesting Katte from Indonesian
Hi Katherine, gave us some beautiful bird's eye shots of the wedding.....you had a rare opportunity to witness such a beautiful event . Those berries you had were raspberries...usually very sweet and tasty....see you in the next.... from Europe.
I think it's mulberries
They are actually mulberries.
Thanks for correcting. Some years ago, driving through the Pyrenees, we picked some from the roadside and they told me they were raspberries.
@@yuehanslam1593Raspberry is bigger but has bigger seeds inside.
Wow.. just wow! & I'm so happy to see your handsome, & gentleman companions again. Again, Thank you very much Katherine for sharing your lovely video's. As always watching this from: Seattle, Washington from USA with LOVE. ❤
fascinating ceremony thx good show
Very momentous event. Wish the New couple peace and happiness. I have not seen a video like this because you have to be invited. Kate lucked out.
Looking forward to your future Xinjiang videos!
What a lovely and fun video! Enjoy every minute of it. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work!
So intriguing and so different from what the MSM presents to the world.
Glad yiu are able to revisit Xinjiang.
Except during the pandemic, hundreds of millions of people travel to Xinjiang every year. Leaders of Muslim countries around the world have visited Xinjiang, but they have not seen any massacres or concentration camps in Xinjiang. Only media like BBC and CNN insist on claiming that there is genocide in Xinjiang, while the real genocide in Gaza is selectively ignored by Britain and the United States.
Awesome video 阳离子! Please go visit some more remote villages in other parts of Xinjiang since you speaks such great Chinese. Xinjiang is bigger than France, Spain and Germany combined. 1 trip is not enough.
more Xinjiang coming up in a few weeks, stay tuned 😄
your personality is so fun and interesting, I wish there were more people like you
Love how all the cultures blended in harmony there.
Agree with you!
Another excellent video
Your Chinese is really good, awesome!
A beautiful place with friendly people. Life seems so colorful there 👍👍👍
Xinjiang is a beautiful place indeed. In addition to the scenery I liked two things in this short episode: 1. The cool berries, healthy and should be tasty, which passersby can pick up? 2. Your beautiful eyes.
Thanks for sharing us what's really there in Xinjiang! Nice to see people live happily there :) Comparing to what's happening in Gaza, we know what's the real meaning of genocide. And US and UK politicians not even calling what's happening in Gaza genocide. How ironic!

SUCH A GREAT AWSOME WAY TO RECORD LIFE
the guide is wiiiild ! lmao, him to kids : lemme taste that ice cream . lmao
Yeah that one threw me LOL try that in the US and ppl will think ur a pervert, in XJ people seem to think it’s completely normal to have a bite of a random kid’s food 🤣🤣
@@kats_journey_east Will this kind of thing be handled by the American police?
it seems all of them knew how to dancing. amazing I will take my time to travel there one day.
9:15 I know what that grandpa said to him, without he speaking it out 😂😂😂
He must be told: boy you have a chance, get that girl besides you done.😂😂😂
Hope time froze and Kat has her love forever.
Grandpa was on point!
I don't think this guy fits her from a third perspective.
She need a man, not a boy after another.
But, we are not her, so, best wishes to her.
That old man told him to make some Eurasian babies with that pretty blond girl.😂
Alas, the reunion with your Uyghur comrades! Such a fascinating culture.
Any consideration to relocate to a rural community in Xinjiang some day?
Never heard the ✂️ party term used🎉🎈 😁 nor realized the summer temperatures can reach 40c+ in this region.
Beautiful video!
Thanks Katherine for a very interesting episode. The local variety of Mulberry look very delicious.
Very joyful episode! I like it. For your information, Katherine, traditionally in the other rural area of China, wedding is also celebrated for three days. The difference is how it is celebrated.
❤what a beautiful pictures❤
What a lovely wedding❤! And the tour guide is adorable 😅
@@kats_journey_east 😮😮meaning you have to be fit to marry or attend an Uighur wedding, lol, and adapt to a 2000 years tradition. Holly Snoopy, I prefer to just eat.
So Beautiful ,i so wish to see more. great culture. Great video. Thanks.
great video🎉🎉🎉 Katherine
Thank you for this lovely video. Always warms my heart. Hope you have a great journey!
How beautiful and what very kind people and children 🙂❤️
Oh my god, I am super jealous. I wanted to go last year but all the HSR tickets were fully booked because it was everyone's first summer holiday since China opened up from their lockdown.
Love any wedding that involves a lot of dancing :) Han Chinese weddings are mostly about eating which is great but I wish we incorporate some dancing as well. Great video!
Beautiful things from beautiful people and great joy on this special occasion
Thanks for this vid very interesting. East Asians \ Chinese-ish looks but music and dances are quite similar to central and South Asian...even Turkey. Well done silk road. Spreading the seeds of joy for centuries.
From what I've seen of Uyghur people, they always seem to be enjoying themselves no matter what they are doing.
As a Chinese, Turpan is the place I only read in novels and history textbooks. Thank you for showing us the true and beautiful Xinjiang.
Weddings Xinjiang style, amazing! Thanks for sharing, Katherine! I have just noticed that the title of your program "阳离子東游記" 很有意思. It's so cool! 😊
another beautiful vlog from Xinjiang. Katherine is going to drive western media/news crazy!
Wow! such an amazing vibe, love to visit Xinjiang one day.
Don't grapes ripen in the Fall?
Main them is "we're all brothers".
vibrant culture and music, reminding me of the Xinjiang movie I saw when I was in China
Happy life ❤❤
I see a lot of forced labor going on. They're forced to sing and dance and eat as much as they can!
Jokes aside, you're one lucky woman. It's a privilege to witness the beautiful culture of the people there.
Beautiful big mullberries!
From your perspective, I can see different explorations from your observation. Good job.
