      @ryanlucca5324 Год назад +7

      @@ray101892 This doesn't make sense. Kareem shooting more of his shots closer to the basket does not make his scoring harder, actually logic would suggest the opposite.

    • @kingdeedee
      @kingdeedee Год назад +2

      @@ray101892 that argument really only holds water if LeBron was a good 3 point shooter his whole career. He's been an average at best 3P shooter for most of his career and only shoots 34% which is low enough to actually slow down his career scoring pace slightly vs if he converted more of those 3 point attempts to 2s. Especially since Kareem shot at above 55% FG for much of his career largely from near basket attempts. LeBron's career FG% from inside the arc is also remarkably close to Kareem's as well (56% for Kareem vs 55.4% for LeBron).

      And also the minutes he plays at this stage, and how he (Lebron) has managed his minutes all of his career. What I mean, is he NEVER plays 20 minutes in a game, he either plays starter minutes or sits out. He has never been ejected of a game.
      He is playing a lot of minutes this recent years despite all the losing.
      For example, Tim Duncan played less than 28 minutes a game since he was 34 and also reduced his shot attempts, he made that because was that was the best for the team.
      Carmelo Anthony, last year avg 13 pts in 20 minutes, if you gave him all the touches and minutes he wanted, he would score 24 pts a game but of course the team would lose all the time….Well, same is happening with Lebron, he scores a lot and efficiently during the first 3 quarters but has shrunk all season during clutch time. He had averaged 25-plus in 18 seasons with the Jazz and never missed more than two games a year. Consistency and health. But after one injury-plagued season with the Lakers he abruptly retired, with just over 1400 points behind Kareem, a total that would have been easily eclipsed in any of his seasons with Utah. Luka is the only current player whose come in getting buckets at a HIGHER level than LeBron.
    His physique/genetics are the primary concerns for whether he’s the one to break it or not.
    LeBron is a genetic specimen and likely never to be replicated again.
    Jayson Tatum, Paolo Banchero, Anthony Edwards, and maybe Ja Morant would be players that’ll keep getting buckets-but durability is really going to be the deciding factor.

    It's probably gonna be nearly impossible and if it does happen someday more than likely won't be in our lifetime or not for a very very long time atleast. Gotta keep in mind for the fact LeBron is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon and is averaging 30 ppg in year 20. Goat 🐐 stuff. He's definitely gonna be playing years to come still and will finish well into over 40k points. He could finish with 43k-45k points maybe more so unless somebody comes into league averaging 40+ a game playing all 82 games a year and plays like 20+ years it won't happen.

    I don’t think Luka has the body to keep playing at a high level past 35/36. We really need to wait until a player reaches at least 30k points and in their 30s to really see if they have a realistic shot.

      Many players can have a good 10-15 year career. To break lebron’s record, a player will need a 23-25 years career playing and scoring at a star level player with minimal injuries and hope nba lockouts and pandemics don’t have to much impact. This is why the record is so hard to break.

    Honestly I’d think nobody in the league yet will pass him we’d need a Lukas scorning but with the lebron/Kobe dedication which is a mindset that is as rare as it comes so might just be another 40 years

    Sorry but this record isn’t getting broken for a long time. Luka is young enough and has the ability but injury and longevity are a concern. Tatum is another young player with the ability, but I don’t think he will have the physicality to be as productive in his later years, even though he has been relatively healthy throughout his career thus far. Also Lebron is likely going to play another season… he will have above 40k by the time he retires. I just don’t see any of these current guys in the league with dedication to longevity like Lebron.

    LeBron is on track to hit 39,000 points by seasons end isn’t he?
    Say 25 points and 20 points the following two seasons playing 70 games per.
    That’ll take him to around 42,000+ points at 40 years old.
    Would take something or someone phenomenal to crack that. Start young take advantage of the three ball and all other offensive minded advantages his career will have over LeBrons and then still remain healthy, durable and elite for ~20 years - that’s asking quite a lot.
    My thought is if guys like Beal can get $50m per season contracts and guys like Lillard can get $60m today - this future superstar likely to get $100m at some point in their career - and at that value teams will be super careful with their asset.
    This could counter many favourable terms this guy would have over LeBron.
    Good luck to whoever it could be and anyone that wants to try for it.

    Listen I like Luka he's a generational talent and great player but there's no way in hell he's got any shot at breaking that record. I think the thing people forget is LeBron doesn't decline every other player to ever play game declines over time and by year 14 let alone 20 there a shell of there former self. Luka isn't gonna play anywhere near 20 years especially with how slow he already is now and considering LeBron isn't retiring anytime soon LeBron could end up with 43-46k points maybe even more.
