There is no player in the history of the NBA who has ever come in with expectations this high, and yet he still managed to exceed those expectations. One of a kind.

The fact lebron can score 38 points at will is insane, makes you realise he doesn’t normally play just for points and is still the all time point leader
I grew up watching and marveling Jordan in the 90's. And I'm a die hard Pistons fan! He was the epitome of a leader, game changer, clutch player and admiration for being great was unmatched. He smothered you with his will to win. He relied on no one but himself. When LBJ was drafted I was not convinced he was "The Chosen One". 20 years after he was drafted I am still sitting here questioning what I'm witnessing. Are we stuck in a weird simulation, is HE? I tuned in to listen to what everyone had to say this morning, Stephen A saying Lebron is Not the greatest scorer ever, while the man literally broke Kareem's record and still can't satisfy anyone. Or the fact no one wants to recognize his greatness is just truly appalling and a disrespect for the evolving game of basketball. It's generational influence, I stopped riding the Jordan train upon Kobe's arrival, I stopped riding the Kobe train upon Lebron's arrival. Give the man his flowers and move on, we still pick apart everything he has done, 38 years old averaging 30 points a game on 54TS%. WASNT THAT JORDANS CAREER HIGH DURING HIS PRIME? He's been playing since 2003!!!! Jesus. I like LeBron but 20 years of playing and he's always been one of the best playing if not the best playing at the time. This isn't that amazing, this is simply something that should've been done for playing this lonnnngggg at a great level
Are of you aware of just how hard it is to be that great for that long? Because the way you’re talking that’s to be expected in your eyes. I bet if it were Jordan, nobody would be talking like that and he’d get all the love and credit in the world. Nobody would dare to diminish that accomplishment.
If you Googled what basketball is, the answer would be Basketball is a game in which two teams of five players each try to score goals by throwing a large ball through a circular net fixed to a metal ring at each end of the court. "score goals by throwing a large ball through a circular net," Lebron is now the player that did this more than anyone. He is literally the record holder for the main mechanics of the game.

The fact that LeBron is a pass-first player, 4th all-time in assists, and still managed to break the scoring record is absolutely phenomenal. We will never see another player be top five in both categories.
Not a pass first player. He will never get the assist record and he is playing one more season right now than John Stockton. He is a scorer who can pass and should be finally acknowledged as such.

Congratulations to LeBron James on surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and becoming the NBA's all-time leading scorer. 👏 His dedication and consistency of hard work and determination to be great and maintain greatness for 20 seasons is unprecedented, which make him the greatest perimeter player the NBA has ever had. 6' 9", 260 lbs, moves like a smaller guard, but has a power forward body, and can play all 5 positions effectively, plus he's a great leader and playmaker. Enough said, I think 🤔. All hail to The King 🤴!
not to mention he was 17 nearly fresh outta high school when he was drafted... the expectations and maturing he had to do when just entering the league HAD to have been overwhelming... it's a high school kids DREAM JOB to be in the nba out of high school.... but few people understand how nightmarish it can turn to be for some players... you go from just playing in front of your schoolmates and parents in a high school setting to now playing in 20,000+ ppl stadiums being watched by MILLIONS... not to mention you also have to learn how to spend your first million dollar check wisely and truly balance a budget, also the expectations are HIGHER for high school kids being drafted vs college kids... yeah it can be shocking going from being a small town high school kid from akron to a top draft pick without any college experience... i gotta give lebron credit for the amount of maturing he had to do in such a short amount of time to become KING JAMES where sooo many people like amanda bynes, lindsey lohan, etc have become tragic cases of young people becoming instantly famous and not knowing how to handle fame so they turn to drugs and alcohol and what not. there's a reason why the NBA no longer has high school players being draft eligible and that you HAVE to have at least 2 years of college basketball experience

Lebron is the most unappreciated Hall of Famer! It’s always been time to respect KingJames the NBAs all time leading scorer, father, husband, son etc. This is the moment the haters especially skiuuup GET use to greatness forLife
Wtf are u talking about? Sick fanboy straightn’ up!
Him being a farther, husband n son got nothing to do with the him being a HOF but I still appreciate bro he #2 idk why people take that as disrespect or him being unappreciated he made history last night nun but respect for that
This record is extremely impressive. It's pretty safe to say that the next person to break it isn't even born yet.
THAT IS AN INSANE STATEMENT
@@ShysHubby it isn’t
@@bardycopeland6295 it really isn’t. People score a lot more points now than they used to because nobody plays defense anymore. You could land a 747 in the lanes now. There’s a lot of standing around on defense just waiting for the other team to score so they can get the ball back.
@@cotati76 players in today's game don't play nearly as many games they would need to break the record. Lebron didn't play less than 68 games in a season until a few years ago, he averaged like 75 games a season for 15+ years haha.
Luka could pass it if he stays healthy but he doesn't have athleticism like that so it's unlikely
Lebron not even done playing so the odds of someone playing as long as he’s gonna play at the PPG He has for career they are gonna have to surpass his consistency and durability and no one has yet to show they will be able to do both at the moment.
Like Brady passing yards, LeBron is going to shatter that scoring rcord. He's going to score at least another 5 to 7 thousand points
Maybe throw in some punctuation next time.
I am not a Russ fan at all but I observed his performance last night totally different. Once Lebrun exited he was the only one with a sense of urgency trying to win the game, and I thought he was trying to win it for Lebron.
Exactly! And I’m not so sure the lakers are any better after this trade
Exactly it’s sad how they do Russ with no other point of view but one. He was definitely trying to win it so LeBron can have the record and the game. When you really pay attention it’s sad how much negative these players deal with in any sports like they hearts don’t matter. This stuff is being told to millions of people it’s crazy.
As soon as Lebron executed that fadeaway, I jumped and did a fist pump before it went in. I’m not really a fan of his, but seeing him make that record breaking shot did put a smile on my face. Congrats to the King 🤴🏾
Why do lebron stans always post in comments not really a fan of lebron?

This is just a beautiful moment, coming from humbled beginnings to accomplishing all he has & to have given so much. He continues to inspire from a lifestyle to sporting level.
We witnessed a record we will most likely never see broken again in our lifetimes👑
It could be broken. Athletes last longer these days.
@@domagojhrgovic7419 Zion…
@@AuburnFanSince2010🤣🤣🤣 Bro said Zion. LeBron ended up with 6k points in his first 3 seasons Zion DOESNT even have 3k yet. And that means that Zion has to never have an injury and score 27 PPG or even MORE to break it or even to catch up for the rest of his career and LeBron is no where near done. He’s 38 still dropping 30s left and right on any given night. He’s averaging 35+PPG as a 38 year old lol. LeBrons record is not being beat if he stays in the nba for like 5 years more. He’ll end up with 45K+ points
@@freakthegod2362 zion plays one season and misses the next season with an injury, and he's a very young man. He's not going to last long enough to even get top Ten all time in scoring.

Big ups to Kareem 💯
I am so proud of Lebron, dudes been playing on a high level for a long time and I'm happy to say I'm a fan of his. Long live the King.
What a monumental night... Epic in every way, and I was a witness to see it happen. Including the haters 🤷🏾♂️
This clip had me in tears

They scored 130 points and skip Bayless is here talking about they didn’t win in part because Lebron went 13/20 from the field, 8-10 from the Ft line, and 4-6 from 3….this guy is nuts.
Iconic career. Like him or not. What an amazing accomplishment. Hats off LeBron.
This was such an iconic moment. It's definitely on the level of Kobe's final game and Jordan's final shot in Bulls uniform.
Not really. The room was way mor magical & they won. This don’t feel right. It feels like Bron is a plant. Like he become old for this last 36 points. Almost like he’s older than we think, & came out of hs ready to break records with his football frame. Either way great player but it’s weird to see this man win the record in a lakers jersey. It’s like a sacrifice to Kobe & Kareem
I can’t watch highlights of Kobe’s last game anymore it’s heartbreaking. It’s definitely up there with amazing nba moments
Nah this is more iconic than both those events in my opinion
@@alive2583 yea okay
I'm almost to my point I'm just airing out a few things. 4 time MVP 4 time Finals MVP with 3 different franchises #9 on all time assist leaders STANDS ALONE ATOP Career Points. Only player in their career with a stat lines like this 😳 30,000 points 10,000 rebounds 10,000 assist. I appreciate you Lebron, you are a facilitator, generational entity created from God's own hand, one of the most influential if not THE most influential sports figure of all time. I cannot remember the last time I turned on ESPN and didn't hear your name at least 5 times a segment. We witnessed you, we appreciate you, we love you, THE NBA IS NOTHING WITHOUT YOU. GO PISTONS!

For the first time ever, SKIP WASN’T THERE.
Don't worry in 5 years he'll slip in somewhere " I was there when Lebron broke the record"
This was amazing moment to watch I couldn’t believe it when it happened I’m happy for lebron. I wish the lakers had won it to make even better but still incredible
If it was so easy to score 40 thousand points 10 thousand rebounds 10 thousand assists there should be somebody in 35-10-10 or 30-10-10 . There's only 4 players that made 25-5-5 .
FACTS!!!
Say what you will. These two make for great television.
26 minutes to get 38 unbelievable king James and he said he didn't over exzert himself just imagine if he did
ngl I'm low-key disappointed Shannon didn't bring out the GOAT mask bcoz if there was ever a perfect time for it this was it imo
Skip would have had to criticism LeBron if Shannon had that goat mask on. And I was happy to see Skip appreciating LeBron and giving him much deserved props.
Maybe because the Lakers lost 😂
I'm just glad this didn't turn into a MJ vs Lebron segment
Some people always push that narrative. People are always fighting over them. They're actually my favorite players of all time, and I would never disrespect either of their games.
Its a tired debate
I remember watching Bron play in person his sophomore, junior and senior years.... crazy to see where he's at right now. Amazing athlete.... amazing career
I miss this show already
The Best Part about it All is that it is Still Counting and He is Still Playing Well
Come on skip really, Lebron wasn’t even thinking bout MJ during that shot
Perfect ending to lebrons speech! Hard to know what to say when a moment like that hits you
He's been playing since 2003!!!!
Nobody would dare to diminish that accomplishment.
congrats to Lebron for scoring 38K pts in 20 years.
Crazy how he surpassed kareem scoring 38 points at 38 years old 😮
“I don’t know how to get out of this, so… F”.

Kobe last game was WAAAAY bigger than this... Easily one of the most iconic moments I've seen in sports history. And he WON!!!
Who cares though? That's his last game, so it makes sense that it was huge. Kobe was amazing, but so is Lebron.
Agree but it's not a competition lol
U said urself "kobe LAST GAME" if that match is LeBron last game and he wins ur gonna say the same comment simple as that
Two different feelings, maybe Kobe's was more emotional because it was his last.
Shut up.😊
If you Googled what basketball is, the answer would be
Basketball is a game in which two teams of five players each try to score goals by throwing a large ball through a circular net fixed to a metal ring at each end of the court.
"score goals by throwing a large ball through a circular net," Lebron is now the player that did this more than anyone.
He is literally the record holder for the main mechanics of the game.
Skip still can't focus after that Cowboy's loss.
Congratulations LeBron James
Kareem set that record when basketball was BASKETBALL. Not what it has turned into in this generation.

Been watching this kid from Akron all these years. Congrats LeBron.
The fact that LeBron is a pass-first player, 4th all-time in assists, and still managed to break the scoring record is absolutely phenomenal. We will never see another player be top five in both categories.
SOUNDS LIKE THE "GOAT" TO ME..
Not a pass first player. He will never get the assist record and he is playing one more season right now than John Stockton. He is a scorer who can pass and should be finally acknowledged as such.
@@familyman4668 LeBron is not catching Stockton, Stockton was an assist machine. But it doesn't mean LeBron isn't pass first. He's 4th all time in assists for goodness sakes. Other great scorers like Kareem, Kobe, Jordan, Malone, etc were all scorers first. LeBron always looked to make plays for his teammates. That said, Jordan is still the goat.
He will end third in assist. Cp wont allow him to pass him
Congratulations to LeBron James on surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and becoming the NBA's all-time leading scorer.
Definitely a great moment in a great career. I still can't put him as the GOAT tho.
Fair
I feel the same way but gotta give credit where credit due. 🤷🏽♀️

They changed the rules to add more playoff games when Lebron entered the league. Do your research.
