I'm surprised Clique actually think 2k will include something for breaking the scoring record. 2K's definition of realistic is updating the graphics every 4 years. They never cared about these intricate details to make the game more interesting.
@@MrSheduur In 2k10 or maybe 2k11 I dont remember exactly which, they had a game mode that was basically MyPlayer, but you got to play as Michael Jordan. That was the last time I remember them doing something really interesting. @@MikeJones-vk3wz same with every sports game. I myss my younger days when i was playing fifa 10 but fifa has got worse and worse, just adding back old features and removing new ones to add back in a few games time.
it’s weird though because mycareer does have graphics and announcer lines for breaking records, so it’s either not in myleague at all OR you have to be in the game from the start for it to work
@@th0rn3 You're thinking of single game records, those are still fully in myleague (and used to be in playnow but they removed them for no reason). AFAIK there has NEVER been anything for breaking career records. But if some 2k nerd wants to prove me otherwise I'll gladly listen
And even then, only Durant broke it, it's insane. Also, KD was 87 OVR his rookie season, so not just former great players duplicated, former great players starting at 19 with inflated overalls, its untouchable.
and the person who broke it is KD with inflated stats lol which is even crazier. realistically he doesn't have the health to even come close to the record. health will be the biggest factor in breaking it and most players with the talent to score at the highest level don't have that. this record is gonna take like 60+ years to break
@@lexsea i don’t think this one will get broke, actually. I don’t see someone having a better and longer and healthier career than Lebron has had. And it’s not even over with. His record is going to keep going up. By the time he retires, that record is going to be even harder to break. Jordan didn’t come close to 40k. Kobe didn’t come close to 40k. Lebrons record will actually probably be more like 43k, 44k, 45k by the time he retires. We know he’s going to at least play one season with Bronny before he quits… That record is untouchable. You gotta have the career, the longevity, the health, the scoring ability, durability, MORE than LEBRON to beat that record. PLUS he came in straight out of high school - which you cant even DO anymore. That record’s untouchable.
@@lexsea and I’m not really a huge lebron fan at all - but you gotta give credit where credit is due. You have to have one HELL of a career just to get in front of JORDANs career record. Much less THE record.
Its ironic that before his two major injuries, a lot of people were discussing if it was going to be him who took over the scoring record. That's like 4,000+ points he couldn't score.
Man, I gotta say. I appreciate you posting videos and all the stuff you do with basketball. I've never been a fan, but want to start because of these videos. Hope you're doing great man
I think that unless a 4pt line is introduced, it Will never BE broken... Bron is gonna play atleast 2 more seasons after this One, he gonna be at around 41k... That's 27.33ppg Over 1500 games... If u divide by 75 games because u not gonna play 82 games for 18-19y,, it's exactly 20 seasons..... U have to BE a top 5 player in the league for 20y with no injuries.... That's pretty much Impossible...
how he didn't get a celebration for it is weird, I was doing this and hopped in a random pacers game and haliburton became leading assists and got a whole celebration
Nick Smith is a Freshman at Arkansas. dude is a DAWG. he just came back today, but he was number 3 in the Country in high school while he was at North Little Rock
If LeBron drops 41k points like he (almost) did here, a player would have to average 29 ppg and 70 games a season for 20 years to break his record. Bron's ppg record is untouchable unless the rules change. Players have been leading the league with 30-35 ppg since the 70s and I don't think that's going to change.
The developers should've known this was the game that would be released the year the record was being broken. They should've had like 10 pieces of confetti fall or have breaking the record be an achievement.
I still think a resimulation of nba history or an all time draft with the difficulty on pro or semi pri would be dope as itd be more realistic scoring wise. Superstars would make crazy difficult shots but role players would still miss them
Honestly enjoyed this and dropped a sub not only because you seem like a chill guy but also for you actually going through simming this much. Going through sims is so painful lol

Greatest shooter Curry, Arguably the GOAT Mike, Mamba Kobe, Most dominant Shaq, Best fundamental guard Luka, Offensive powerhouses like Melo and KD. Greek Freak and a bunch of crazy catch and shoot players like Dbook, Tatum, Klay. All of them has the chance of breaking Kareem's, but just can't. Only Bron did. In many years to come I don't think there will be someone to beat Kareem's record, let alone Lebron's. The King will hold onto that title for a good long while. A century, atleast.
And not be injured. the main advantage why James is even up there is his good physique and not having to deal with that many injuries in his career. The Lakers years are starting to show his age, but before that, he barely ever missed games. Would be an entirely different conversation toward his career if he missed games comparable to the average nba player.
So in other words, Kareem's and Lebron's records are so unbreakable, we literally have to wait until 80 years in the future when we have the technology to genetically clone to the 10 greatest scorers in NBA history, just to have a chance to break their records.
Even with player being able to score more often, the likelihood of them staying healthy and able able to score at least 20 ppg after 35 is so unlikely. That’s the major difference between anyone that will ever play. LeBron is still playing at a way higher level at 38 than some at 30. Plus LeBron is just abnormal, his all round skill set has allowed him to score and do everything for so long.
@@antb7655 No he doesn't, he is averaging nearly 30 for every season other than his rookie season. If he averages 25+ for the next 25 he will have reached 38000. And it looks like his scoring is only going up and up for the next few years. He's at 33 this year and may well average up around 42. If he does that then he doesn't even need to play 20 seasons.
Thank you for correcting that..Melo is Carmelo forever, I felt that gotta put that “respek” on his name, top 10 all time nba scorer..Melo Ball or Lamelo works great 😂 💯
It'll get broken (probably by a few people) because the league has changed scoring wise. The year Kobe averaged 35 points would be the equivalent of someone averaging 42 points during this season (based on averaged scoring by teams). So just think about how FREAKISH it was for him to average that many points 15 years ago, whereas now people average 30+ all the time. The league used to have stupid high scoring prior to Kobe's era, but that was before good medicine and sports tech was there, so players careers weren't nearly as long (unless you were a freak like Kareem). So just given the fact that the league has continued to get more talented, quicker, faster shot clocks (think about 14 seconds on offensive rebounds), more 3 point shooting, and sadly MUCH softer (you aren't allowed to play defense), people will rack up insane scoring numbers.

Video 176 of suggesting What If Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Larry Bird were on the same team career simulation? Also what about a Shaq career re-simulation but he has a 99 in free throw and a 99 in drawn foul? Also what about if the best players from the 1984 draft (i.e. Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, John Stockton, & Alvin Robertson--a name lost in NBA history in my opinion, 4x all star, 2nd team all NBA, 1986 DPOY, 6x defensive team, 1986 Most Improved Player, 3x steals leader) were on the same team?
It won’t be broken for the next 40 years. It’s next to impossible for it to be broken. Whoever does it would have to average 25 ppg for 20 plus years straight
Jordan averaged 30 in his career in a league that scored max 105 points, now there’s only the heat who averages under 110, so someone like luka who can average 30+ especially in the next 5-10 years for not even 15 more seasons can destroy the record
Or he would have to average 30 for 16 years, and Luka doncic is already averaging 33 (and has been averaging 28+ since his 2nd season). And in this no defense ass league, people are going to be averaging 40 pretty soon

víctor hasn't played a single quarter in the nba he would have to play at least 18 season to have a chance and play at an unreal elite scoring level all while avoiding injury at 7 foot 5 and playing another 3 years averaging around 18-20 in years 19-21 to make it to 21 seasons lol never happening sounds good but hell nah lol
how do you continue your season after the nba final? where do you go
Falling asleep to this 😭
