I’m Australia, they do this for back events too but the swimmers must be 5 meters out to allow space for the swimmers to hop in and make sure no distractions are caused by the swimmers from the previous heat
i find it bizarre that how that in england, the swimmers exit to the side of the pool but in the US, the swimmers exit by climbing out of their own lanes
@PropulsionSwimming in the US, they have the next heat on the blocks while the current heat is still swimming. They always told you not to go too far from the wall after you finished because they'd call everyone into their stance like the second the last person touched
@@leohemingray4292 bro, do u know anything about swim? a 200 are 8 laps, a relay is when its ur turn to dive right away when the person gets to u 💀 💀 💀
I like the blocks! Def more power off the dive! Dang never seen that before!
I don’t think so because they don’t know
Omg it’s my sport!!!❤😊
I've just done a meet and they did this in backstroke events. Ridiculous!

This is common if you are doing a level 3 or 4 meet as you would in your first gala thi
You are not allowed to do them in level 2 tho

These are also known as Broadway starts because my father was the first to try them in the late 70's
❤
Those starts look slow as hell
That’s like .80 seconds off the block lowkey kinda late
I could name 20 bad things about their starts.
@@ericstemmons2265 same😭
They are probably only 12 to 14 don’t judge
what are they doin?
Why even bother doing flyover starts if youre gonna be this slow about it
Welcome to swimming in the UK
