I just bought both o2 sensors (97 4.0) oem mopar and both were stamped NTK so you can save money by just buying ntk. Keep your Jeep as MOPAR as possible but in this instance you can save a few coins by getting the NTK
Thanks i bought my first tj jeep ! had it for about 30 days and the guy i bought it from said the o2 sensor has been on the whole time he had it !! so i put the sensor reader on it said the same one ! so now i can replace it too thanks to you and your son showing how !!! Thank's so much !!
I own a 2005 jeep wrangler unlimited Rubicon 4.0 I added a sprintex supercharger I also did many upgrades to the exhaust system now I get code p0157 , p0108 , p0171 , p0174 , I did replace all o2 sensors , but I noticed in your description all your o2 sensors has different part numbers for all 4 sensors when I bought mine I bought 2 of same for up stream and 2 of same for down stream not sure if this makes any difference so I'm buying what you recommend to see if any thing changes
While I have heard of the no touch rule on o2 sensors.. it is also important not to use non-o2 sensor safe RTV anywhere on the engine where the RTV fumes can get into the pcv system... That will kill an o2 sensor
I think the no-touch rule is an old wives tell, personally. lol -- I was happy to see the pre-application of anti-seize... made it easy to make sure it was a compatible product.
Hello I have a 2000 Chevy van 350 vortex motor cei on p0138 running rich, misfire, stalling, burning lots of gas .so if I change bank 1 sensor 2 .O2 sensor It will start running normal again
Great video but I was hoping you could help? I looked up 23132 ntk O2 sensor (I had the 0138 code as well) on Amazon and it said it didn’t fit my 2002 Jeep Wrangler. I was figuring I could trust your advice as opposed to Amazons. Thank you in advance!!
PO420 means the downstream O2 sensor is reading too many hydrocarbons making it through the cat. Unfortunately that almost always means the cat is bad. Don't bother replacing the sensors, they are working fine telling you the cat is bad.
6:15 how did you get that connector to come apart? I am trying to get my upstream sensor pigtail apart (1996 XJ 4.0) without breaking the tab. Tab on the connector to the coil broke (gentle lift and it cracked) the other day when I was trying to get it apart for some dielectric grease refresh. Figuring these are all the same age, and all the same brittleness. Not replacing sensors yet, going through to make sure the connections are waterproof and looking for any exposed wires. I have a rough running problem after water has splashed up under Jeep, same issue after I washed the engine.
Our '04 TJ 2.4 has a broken harness side connector for the O2 sensor (that's the one before the catalytic converter). I am left with the 4 wires and have no idea where each one goes where! The connector at the end of the O2 sensor pigtail is fully functional.Do you have any idea how to match the wires correctly?
can you see the wire colors on the o2 side pigtail? If so, you can just cut the connector off and make your own with some individual bullet connectors, or buy a generic 4 prong connector off amazon thats got a waterproof connection. like these : amzn.to/3wxcV0X
I followed your link to amazon. Says these do not fit my 2000 Jeep Wrangler. Is that true or is Amazon mistaken? I do have California emissions so there are 4.
Yes I too know what a “PB” blaster, and Cadillac converter are... dude not everyone is a gear head, and odds are a lot of people looking up this video are in the same boat. Keep it simple

How long before did you use the PB blaster?...that came out REALLY easy

o3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] I edited my above comment, It seemed to brash... Stay warm!
That thing he is touching is a cover, the sensor is inside the metal housing with venting on the side.

Does the 2.5L also have 2 02 censors? Can't get my TJ to connect to code reader and apparently 99 TJ doesn't have the ignition switch reader.

I’m throwing a P0420 code planning on replacing both upstream sensors any thoughts ? Hope it’s not the cats

Can a hole in the muffler cause that code?
You said the code is specific to the sensor but I got a different code p139 bank 1 sensor 2
