Thanks, so it looks like when I replaced the clutch and dropped the tans, I may have forgotten to dissconcet that . . . . and ripped the wiring. Fun times, Thanks for the help and getting to the point in under 2 min.
You should be getting an engine code specifying the bank and upstream or downstream. Here is a video I did explaining O2 sensors: ruclips.net/video/ZVsgiJEO0XI/видео.htmlsi=kmQHfkxW9vSehNxp
I order 4 oxygen sensors from Amazon they sent me 2 with 2 white wires and 1 gray wire and 1 black wire . And they also sent me 2 with a black, white, purple and gray, so my truck had all 4 with the 2 white wires, gray and black, so will the 2 sensors with the black, white, purple and gray work
@@PhillipsVision Thank you for replying back. I've been experiencing engine hesitation. I though it was the manual transmission, but that has been ruled out. I replaced all spark plugs, did an oil change and still the same issue. I did the self diagnosis test by turning the key three times and I got code P0432, which means that the catalytic converter for bank 2 is performing below what it should be. So, I will start by replacing all four sensors and take it from there.
Hello hope all is well I'm writing to you because my fiance is a man's man and he had an injury that led him to have two neck surgery which made him disabled he has a 98 Jeep Wrangler TJ I believe a 4.0 that he loves and is obsessed with and it hasn't been working because of the O2 sensor and I wanted to go ahead and surprise him by doing the basic steps. I would really appreciate your help by guiding me, in how to make this happen. I don't want to pay anyone because we are very limited he is a construction worker and can no longer work so there is one income and yes I am a woman but I am very Hands-On and I get things done!!! I would really appreciate your help thank you so much stay blessed stay safe I hope to hear from you!
O2 sensors are easy, it’s just unplug the harness and unscrew the sensor. On the 4.0 you should have 4 sensors... one in front of each catalytic converter and one after each catalytic converter. All you need are (2) upstream sensors and (2) downstream sensors. You’ll also need a ratchet and o2 sensor socket, you can get those sockets at any auto part store
Perfect. Thanks. And no crappy music in the video.
Thanks so much for keeping it simple and getting to the point. Very helpful.
My 04 just threw the P0432 code. Came to RUclips as i was clueless about this code. Your video got me right where i needed to be. Much appreciated!
Thanks for the feedback, glad the video helped

Nice and easy video explaining where the sensors are located. 💪🏽👍🏽
I just love all your videos , so informative and in a way that I can understand, Thank you
Glad to hear that; thanks for the comment.
You should clearly state what year TJ you're referring to. Later model TJs have 4 O2 sensors. All are located near the engine block.
I have a TJ 4.0 year 2000 and the error code on the OBD is P0138 Bank1 Sensor2. Could you tell me where this sensor is located? Thank you.
Bank 1 Sensor 2 would be located on the cylinder 1 side of your engine, and the sensor located AFTER the catalytic converter going towards the muffler
@@PhillipsVisioncould a hole in muffler cause that code?
Andy, thank you for that, great information I can use.
Would you go ahead an change both out?
I only change whichever one is bad
How would I know one of 02 sensor has an effect

what about Bank 2 Sensor 1 & 2?
This is the 4 cylinder engine, it does not have two banks
I change all 4 and 1 has an effect but which 1 don't now
thx! very useful information. can I just unscrew them with a ratchet or is something to consider for replacement?
You can use a ratchet but get an O2 Sensor Socket
@@PhillipsVision it dind't work with the O2 sensor socket, I just haven't got enough room for it - but it DID work with the 22mm wrench!
Hello. Where's the 02 sensor heater circuit bank 1 sensor 1 located? I have a 2001 TJ 4.0 6 cylinder
It’s part of the O2 sensor. You need to replace the bank 1 upstream sensor
@@PhillipsVision right but the 6 cylinder tj has 4 02 sensors?
@@claudes1973 it should, yes. You should have 2 banks and each bank with an upstream and downstream.
Aren't there 4 censors. 2 upstream and 2 downstream
I think it depends if you have the 4 cyl or the 6

Where is the 0431 sensor located at?
Can someone send the link for how to actually change the O2 sensor

Thank you so much
How many oxygen sensors does a 2003 Jeep TJ 6 cyl have?
6 cylinder should have four...two upstream and two downstream

@@hThorman123 I would only replace the one in bank 2 that is bad, save your money
