    I had the P0455 on my 2001 TJ for a while. Assumed it was the gas cap since it was original to the Jeep. Replaced the cap and reset it, but the code would continually show up after a couple days of driving. Found some dry rotted vacuum lines/elbows under the hood one day near the brake booster and replaced them. The code hasn't shown back up in over a year.

    Love the vids, been lurking for a while. I usually haven’t read the comments so apologies if you’ve mentioned this. You said your son’s name was C.J. Did you name him after the Jeep? :)

    Recently replaced the battery temperature sensor when the P0516 code came up on my '05 Jeep TJ cluster. Oddly enough, it doesn't come up on my scanner. This is a first! And when I go in reverse to get parked in my driveway over a very small bump, the check guages light comes on.
    Also have a new alternator and battery with the battery reading 12.6 when sitting which is perfect. However, the voltage only reads 13.6 after starting it, when most TJ forums say it should read between 14.2 - 14.7
    Any idea of what is causing these things and how I can correct them??

    I did this on my 99 TJ and the CEL code disappeared. I think it made it reset instead of reading the code.

    Didn't work on my 98 TJ. I do have an OBD2, but I've been having trouble finding an app to read it though. Cam Scanner doesn't have the TJ included. Any suggestions?

      o3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] yes. That’s why I said if you ever need one.

    • @ChangGangBam

      o3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] the thing about the tj is that it gives a lot of generic code like “transmission fault” and it requires a code reader to get a more in depth code

    Useless on a 2000.

    • @cajunmiss1
      @cajunmiss1 3 года назад

      did you find a way to do this on your own? I have a 2000 as well

      @@cajunmiss1 Sadly there’s no code reading shortcut like this description. I had to spring for an ODBC code reader. I went for a stand-alone model, (about $90) and my friend got a Bluetooth model for about $14. The Bluetooth model looks like the better option if you have a trustworthy phone battery.
