Classic WoW release is just around the corner, It's going to be the best MMO for 2019 and beyond.
Welcome back to a new episode of rags to riches. In our previous episode we covered one of the high end grinding spots in Azshara, and due to the overwhelming amount of grinding we recently did on this channel, today's video is going to be a bit different but still with the same core idea, making gold in classic wow. Sometimes, to much grind tends to burn you out and the approach for this guide is to use professions as an alternative way to get similar gold gains to a top grinding spot. The requirement for this guide are 3 professions: Alchemy, Herbal-ism and Fishing. Keep in mind that the methods i'm going to show are suited even for low level players that seek to make an extra buck for the mount at level 40, learning spells from trainers or even purchasing some upgrades from the auction house.
Today, we're going to journey into the wetlands in order to collect the materials required for the free action potion. One of the most powerful mixtures when used right, Free action potions
The average price for the straglekelp is between 5 and 10 silver each, usually more expensive for the alliance due to limited access to barrens.
The Fire oil goes for about 25 silver consistent as this is used by player to power level alchemy and the the free action potion sells for 1 to 3 gold, depending on the servers economy but most of the times you'll find it for slightly under 2 gold and early game slightly above 1 gold. Calculated all the potion at 1.50 and made a total of 39 gold/ hour without including the crafting times. Now, taking into consideration the fact that this method can be used as early as level 30, the numbers are pretty impressive. If your profession of choice are not alchemy and herbal ism you could always level an alt to lets say, 40... train these skills and have an alternative way of making gold in classic world of worcraft. Since we are on this topic, lets explore another method of making gold with the same professions.
As we reach the end of this episode, I would like to remind you that this video was made to show the full potential of using professions while leveling to 60 and beyond. How knowledge about things in game can increase your income significantly.

To expound on that, Skinning and Leatherworking, along with Cooking. I don't believe you can make any money with Leatherworking in Classic, since you are always better off auctioning the leather. But you can sell crafted greens on the AH for around double the vendor price, as enchanters will buy them if they can turn a profit disenchanting, along with the occasional leveler. Keep in mind the AH take. You watch the prices of dusts, and if they go up, then you can get 3x vendor prices. And along the way while leveling LW there are a few good pieces you can wear and sell. Cooking, for all the beasts you slayed. If you didn't make money with LW, and should have sold the leather, can you at least break even? Do that math.

What do you think of videos in this format about getting gold, but instead focus on one zone as a whole using both professions, grinding and exp gain?
For example, Swamp of Sorrows is such a gold mine (as you have shown) with so many different ways of getting gold that one video covering the different ways of getting gold and/or exp would be really interesting I think. A video about Blasted Lands or some other ignored zone would be so cool!

Your videos are a blessing and a curse at the same time. It keeps me sustained until the release of classic WoW but it also increases the ravenous hunger for it making the wait even more painful.
Free action pots & arcane elixirs are how I have G for epic mount and Lion Heart Helm before 60.

Yo frost, can we get a video explaining when certain items become valuable by phase. for example dark iron scraps being almost useless until you can use them as a turn in once EPL quests expand.
this is one of the main things im so exited for profs and accomplishment from doing them was my fav thing in wow other then lvling/story it kept changing and getting more lost but panda land was last xpac that I enjoyed it at all but dreanor gave profs the hammer and I cant enjoy wow anymore I play maybe a month or 2 after fresh xpac b4 I find myself having no reason left the instant grad made it redic but the profs and now the extreme instant grad has ruined wow for me 100% with nothing left to love so getting back to classic will be amazing

Hello Frost. I've seen a lot of people say to ignore crafting professions while leveling because it's too expensive as a low-level character. They recommend two gathering professions and just selling everything until you hit 60, then powerleveling from then on. What do you recommend?
Well, usually the people that say these stuff are the same people that leveled from 1 - 60 10 times on private servers. They no longer get enjoyment from the leveling process, they just want to compete for who's first 60, who kills the first boss and so on.
The thing with crafting professions is that you can take them if you're not in a rush to level 60. You can pick crafting professions that can help you along the way, make the journey more enjoyable.
- Tailors can get robes, bags, clothes.
- Engineering has gadgets, grenades for PVP and support in dungeon.
- Blacksmith, weapons, shields, mail & plate.
You get the point.
If you find yourself enjoying the leveling process, why not smell all the flowers?
also 2 gathering professions were not an option in OG vanilla(pserver cancer) it's not known if mining + herbalism is an option for Classic

I was literally looking for blackmouth guides yesterday. This video came at a perfect time in my life. Also I have a question, Can I send Alchemy recipes I win from Raid bosses to my bank alt? Are some high end recipes like Flask of titans BoP?
Given that most players will be double gathering at launch and the AH will be flooded with mats, do you think simply buying herbs and dumping pots on AH will be profitable? And same with other crafting professions. I theorize that at least 2/3 of population will be skin/herb or skin/mining at launch. Just wanted your take on it.
It could be, you need to do some math.
But what people tend to do, is buying cheap mats early , keep them in the bank for a couple months until inflation kicks in, and later sell them for 3x times the price.
This stuff works with a variety of things, even twink items.

Frost do you have an estimate on how this compares to the old Leatherworking/Mining gold grind? I used to run the latter back in the day and probably gona start up again soon, so wanna get the best possible money making professions out the gate :)

Bro. You got those numbers on a private server, where the respawn timer for most of the resources was guessed/estimated. It's common knowledge now that you should multiply the respawn time by 5 to 10 times in order for it to come closer to real values....

Still in doubt about my rogue professions, should I chose herbalism + alchemy or have herbalism + skinning and alt with alchemy... But getting that alt to lvl 40 for max profession is a pain in the ass...

DO we havea guide more suited for a new server with no economy built up to be selling to. I been thinking about running with Herbalism, skinning and fishing.
39gold an hour with alchemy is if ur workd is a private offline server i suppose, cuz you wont gather easily on vanilla and u might get 0gold in 1 hour if u are unlucky getting ganked and other ppl camping flowers, was already hard when elysium launched so vanilla herbs will be a rarity for sure. Yet alchemy is great its my favorite profession

Just wanted to ask a quick question, I used your UI guide from 2 years ago and I love it. But I dont know how to fix the icon size on different things or length on like f.example xp bar, and when I do /reload. I get much bigger invisible buttons overlapping the old ones.

to paraphrase you, our most valuable resource is time...i plan on pushing hard and fast early to level up and get my mount, meanwhile have my alts resting in inns to get the added experience bonus. the only crafting profession i'm worried about early is getting my bags for me and my alts and for the bank. i just don't think that on new servers early in launch that many people will have money to spend on items...i look for setting myself up 3-6 months down the road when i think professions will start to take off. what do you think Frost?

When I play I shit loot and shift gather.

If you farm the materials for potions and elixirs, and then sell them on the auction house, you can make gold.

What is the best class for grinding gold? I am planning on doing a hunter as main. Is it good in gold grind?
Hunter is good because of pet. Druid is best imo because of travel form and sustainability through rejuv
@@banehthistle7709 What's travel form and rejuv? Sorry I'm clueless I've never played WOW before but planning on playing Vanilla on lunch... Also Between hunter and Druid which one can kill mobs fast? What about Hunter and Rogue which one is better in gold grinding?
@@picknroll929 if your want to farm gold by killing mobs I'd say hunter. It's just a great class for kiting.
If you're guna farm through gathering professions(excluding skinning) Druid has great self heals and around level 20 or 30 you get the ability to turn into a leopard which increases move speed by like 40% making farming. Before mount a breeze.
For example my main is a warlock I'll be taking herb and tailor, and I'll have a druid with alchemy/mining. Warlock gathers herbs to send to druid to make oils and potions. Druid makes the oils and sells raw mining mats on the AH. Tailor is just to get BiS for lock, if your class doesn't have BiS made through crafting or you know someone with the proffs you can just role herb/alch on your main.

@@picknroll929 Hunter absolutely because of pet and ability to kite. If you're interested in playing rogue I'd say do it though! They're incredibly fun and powerful, but they're much more viable for profession farming being able to sneak around mobs and gank people gathering nodes

yeah thats the thing. im super hyped for classic and i don't want to burn out and take the hype away before the real servers launch... i think im gonna just do it... i can't wait anymore hahaha. Just messing around with no real goal... having fun in the barrens...(im always been horde btw) creating a new orc warlock just for the luls hahaha. Kronos seems like the best choice for doing that. any better suggestions in terms of server?

Where would you say to farm for the horde side?
FAP sell for 1-3 gold EACH or EACH STACK? I'm confused because they're at 9 silver in my classic server
Bear in mind that organised PvP isn't really a thing yet. Demand will likely increase when that happens.
Do people really that often buy Arcane Elixir as there is Greater Arcane Elixir aswell? But anyway the other shown options for Blindweed are useful potions aswell :)
arcane elixirs sell better than the greater one. People don't have gold for consumables in classic.
Hello, thing is, Classic wow won't have the "Fish Schools" at the beginning. It was added in Zul'Gurub patch I think (not sure).
It would take 4 times longer to fish Black Mouths without schools.

Are private Servers providing the coming WoW Classic experience exactly 1:1?
No, of course not. But they're very similar to Classic since both are based around patch 1.12., which is why I recommend EVERYONE who's interested in Classic WoW to at least go on retro-wow (an instant 60 server) and check out the classes they're most interested in or to level their favorite class from 1-20 on Northdale / K3 (the 2 best vanilla private servers atm, don't quote me on that).
This could potentially save you from having to reroll while leveling in Classic since you'll already know what to expect from your class (at least when it comes to PvP and general playstyle), thus making it more likely for you to stick with your class all the way to 60 and enjoy it. You could even go on a regular vanilla server, level all the way from 1 to 60 and participate in endgame PvE / raiding and battlegrounds, but you'll risk getting burned out once Classic comes out so it's not something I would recommend, especially since we're already so close to release. Just use these private servers as tools to confirm which class & race you want to play and save the "real experience" for Classic WoW.
TLDR: Private servers are very similar to what Classic WoW will be like and therefore a good place for testing out mechanics, trying different classes to find out which one you want to roll with for Classic and general messing around. Don't get invested though, private servers are just a tool to prepare you for the real thing and not worth burning yourself out for.

@@TheSilentpulse Life got in the way. I played it (almost) too much back in Vanilla, but life was easier then. I won't be able to justify the time it takes to be as into it as I'd like. That's not to say I won't re-sub and mess around a little, but there's no way I can play it like it is meant to be played.

If I remember correctly, at the classic wow demo the pools we're in the game.
