Classic had a much closer community and the few players dedicated enough to their chosen professions quickly earned a name for themselves for rare crafts few others had unlocked. Tipping was common practise for hard-to-find enchants, gear and consumables. Some were prolific enough to afford epic mounts for secondary characters from tipping alone. Sometimes investing in a profession could make you famous server-wide and very, very rich

    • @Frostadamus
      @Frostadamus  5 лет назад

Don't tell that tipping was a viable way to make gold for mount to an enchanter with barely any recipes :)

Of everything on youtube that I listen to that consists of someone narrating something, (which is a lot lol), Frost's voice is by far the most lovely and relaxing to listen to, on top of being the most informative about not only the info we were originally after, but also the lore and history of the area where the video takes place. This adds so much to the wonderful immersion and passion for this game which I, and I'm sure many others love.

i never did this on true vanilla much but on the private servers i got into the habbit of buying patterns in major cities or places like everlook and selling those on the ah. My favorites were the alchemy recipes you buy in undercity. i would buy 1 of each every time i was there and save them up and sell em for up to 4g each and don't even get me started on what you can charge for a recipe for major healing potion

Yeah, sometimes it's the little things that matter most. It was another game, but I was playing a tank and was keeping up with my enchanting and cooking skills so I had the best I could get. At the time, it was a combined 32 HP. Sounds tiny, eh? It is. Well, one dungeon we got to the last boss and the healer was more focused on the party's health bar than his own. We managed to beat the boss because he died late in the fight, but not having any heals made it terrifying! At the end of the fight, I looked at my health bar.
    It read "25".
Taking into account some slow natural healing over time when out of combat, I can tell you with great certainty that enchanting alone did not save my life even though it granted the greater bonus. That Tiny Steak of Minuscule Stamina meant that instead of a long slog through a big dungeon with no mount, I could merrily loot and swap specs to res the healer.
Please. Learn. Cooking. Even if you're a Mage and can just conjure food, it won't give you a potentially life-saving buff.

Generally speaking, Melee DPS need the most gold, because they need the most expensive aoe and consumeables, so they need to farm the most. But they also can kill enemies the fastest, which makes it easier for them in comparrisson. I wonder...good game design or just a fitting coincidence?

I know there’s a chance that none of the current private server addons will work for classic, so I thought I’d ask if you’d be creating one for classic.

@@Frostadamus Well bro,i have been accepted to placeholders, but sadly they gonna use Loot council, had a lot of experience with this kind of loot distribution.Bad experience. So i withdrawed my application.I'm thinking of makeing a guild too if i can't find one for myself and two of my best friends. If u want to make a guild keep me updated.I'm sure you will need a good hunter officer with raid lead experience.

Question: will thistle tea recipe be BoE in classic WoW like it was when I played vanilla, or BoP and rogue only? Would be nice if it was boe.. I'd like to make and sell these even if I don't roll rogue.

I might roll rogue though. I'm definitely going for a dps class. Hunter, rogue, mage or warlock. I never played mage at max level.. but hunter was always my go to. I'm probably 40% hunter, 30% rogue, and 15% mage or lock.. I'd go with orc hunter, undead rogue, mage and lock.

I'm going to definitely max out the secondary professions.. I always maxed first aid but I don't think I ever maxed out cooking and fishing

And as for primary professions.. alchemy or engineering, and herbalism or mining. I played wow mainly for pvp so engineering came naturally but i also like alchemy because it's fun making potions and stuff.. (I'm a chemist irl, lol). Maybe I'll some how max engineering, drop mining, get herbalism for enough herbs, drop herbalism and get and max out alchemy. If hunter, I'll probably go engineering, if rogue, alchemy.
This video series messed me up though.. now all the professions look great and I can't decide. Definitely not going armorsmithing or leather working.. might go skinning for leveling and gold.. probably not doing blacksmithing in general

      sounds like a good plan.
I believe the thistle tea is going to be BoE, don't think they'll look into that to revert it from 1.12

Hey Frost, once Classic is released, could you move on making guides for Burning Crusade? If Classic will be success (most likely) I think Blizzard might start working on TBC servers next.

As a veteran of vanilla, I mained a Paladin. I can say without a doubt that cooking, fishing, and first aid are VITAL. It's too easy to run out of mana reviving and then healing your party. It's better to use bandaids and food on them whenever possible instead of constantly going oom from casting flash of light outside of combat.

I believe the sagefish mp5 isn’t available during the entire classic game.
1.11.1 i think the patch was

There's a high chance it will be in game, as they're used the base 1.12 patch. Removing only major things like titanic leggins plans and other high impact items.
