- In this video, I talk about my bank alt and hopefully show you how to make what is, in my opinion, the best bank alt that you can acquire in classic vanilla servers. I'd like to get your thoughts on how to make an even better bank alt so please share any ideas, I am open to hearing them! Love a bit of theory crafting.

U can for example make or join to guild to have some nice tabard
Some of the cloth items in the 1-10 starting zones look like suit items, vest, etc.
I used those
White tuxedo, fish or flowers in off-hand :p
Tux, with a flame enchanted mace to keep the gold beggar riff raft in line
Normally to make money I just create a new character and cry.
It doesn’t make me any money but it does make me feel relieved.
I bummed on the mail box once and made like 20g in an hour.
maybe /cry in a big city could actually earn you something..
The best thing about bank alts is making them look awesome.
My bank alts are always 100% naked as possible.

Bank alts best spot is Thunder Bluff, everything of importance is all in a small cluster.
Yep. 200 IQ Bank Alts stay in TB. But it makes lockbox opening a bit of a pain since most Rogues hang around Org in front of the bank.
Also it's one of the coolest looking cities in the game
I love the boot enchant tip for the bank alt. Absolutely brilliant min/maxing.
If you have the patience, lvl 20 shaman is probably the best bank alt, ghost wolf, and lvl 20 will probably only take a week. Depending :/
I like to buy stuff like Arrows on my Bank alt. Same with mana drinks and pet food. Buy it on the bank and send it to your main, who then has a 30 Day bank to retriever good/drinks/reagentia from. Never run out of battle res seeds/ahnks/Arrows ever again ^_^
I'd recommend combining Informant with Enchantrix. You can see what items will d/e to, and if those mats will sell for less than the base item on the AH, you just sell the item. Postal looks like a great addon, never heard of it so ty for that :).

Best part about having a bank alt? You can list all your stuff on the AH without getting whispers from other players. Few things are more annoying that being 3/4 of the way through a BRD run and have to explain to somebody why, NO, you cannot come to Org RIGHT THIS SECOND and sell them that BoE you have listed on the AH.
Get a Mage to 35 for Alchemy+Transmute master for the Arcanite Bar transmute if you go above level 5. Why Mage? Blink shaves off a quarter of the distance from the AH to the mailbox. You could go Rogue/Druid instead of course, for Sprint/Dash.
It's quite a lot to do for a bank alt, but on every private server so far, you get at least 10g pure profit per transmute early on, which drops to around 5g after a good while. That's a lot of money for zero effort. You could always level the Mage to 60 later on if you want to farm Dire Maul trash for gold as well. Alchemy is one of those professions that is ALWAYS relevant. Nobody stops needing pots/flasks/elixirs.

Personal suggestion, pick a mage over a hunter/warrior. One, fresh starting out, they're prolly the fastest to hit 5. Two, if you're talking about levelling to get a movement ability, I believe blink > Cheetah for such a short distance. But, if you're going to go that route, level to 20 for portals. If you're wheeling and dealing on your bank alt, having the option to meet your client at any city is a big boon. Thirdly, I'd even recommend eventually getting to lvl 35 on your bank alt. You don't need to level your enchanting to disenchant, but having the option to enchant on your bank alt in any city could make for some deals. However, 35 is pretty time consuming, so I can't recommend it for everyone (Though if you do this, go Enchanting/Alchemy and use Arcanite CD religiously).

the minor speed enchant actually gets you 1 free day of 20 or 1 1/2 if run the bank all day for month
For those enchanters out there, I would highly suggest having two different prices for giving enchants. One price, the cost of your mats, based on current AH prices, with a small tip included in the price and a much higher price for people who want to bring their own. Since everybody and their mom will have a lv5 alt with enchanting better make sure people use your mats first.

You forgot enchantrix; It comes with a database of possible disenchant outcomes of items, and it also updates that data as you disenchant items, and updates the values based on recent material costs scanned at the AH, sometimes vendoring an item for its value is more profitable than disenchanting it. It can also scan the AH for items posted that has a higher DE value than BO or bid price. Also auctioneer is better than aux because it keeps old data instead of just showing a most recent snapshot. Happy banking everyone.
Advanced tradeskill window and lilsparky's workshop are also very good addons if you intend to level a profession on your bank.

Minor speed on boots? Casual. To optimize it fully you first need to find a girlfriend. Convince her to have three kids with you. After that you need to let them age to about 5-6 years old. At that point you get all of them WoW accounts and have them level warlocks until they can summon. Now you have your own little summoning team running between the mailbox and the AH for you. Always ready to summon.
I have only two girls... one is 3 years old, the other 9 months old. Can WoW Classic be postponed for about 5 years?
@@shtroizn sure thing, blizzard/activision is very well known for its user centricity. Just ask them to postpone vanilla release until 27th of august 2024 and freeze retail as well, just to be sure others don't gain an unfair advantage, while you train your girls how to read dps sheets and find full level 5 BiS items as well.

As a quick money maker (early on) I usually (while watching videos on RUclips or something) buy the mats off the AH to make Hillmans Shoulders and either DE or vendor them. Very easy money for someone just starting out.
Making hillmans cloak for alliance is really good too as you can sell them for the yeti quest in hillsbrad.
on a brand new server during i think bc time i made and ran a character to stv arena and got the chest. for a small period of time i was the richest person on the server. >
So much good info. I created main n 2 alts. One alt farms and the other stands by the mailbox in SW. Every gold goes to the banker. Both main and alt send 1/2 money made every day, to the banker alt. I never made 5 gold this quickly.

Mages are the best bank alts. they can port to any city for trades.

Would add depending on how much you use your alt, getting a hunter aspect cheater, shaman wolf, druid travel helps speed up time around the city. Sometimes you might go AH/Mail/Bank other times you might head of to another area and having the extra speed helps. Its also extremely fun to play bank alt dress up, its an added level of fun for you to play with. Other things include having a pet following you, like the chicken. Engineering to get goggles to look snazzy etc.

Your horde bank alt should be in thunder bluff. The city layout is much cleaner and bank, vendor and AH is closer.
100% Agree - TB is the best city for a bank alt. Shortest distance between bank, mailbox & AH. And you can stay mounted between the AH / mailbox.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Always kept my banks in TB. Just straight lines back and forth.
Only downside is Rogues arent usually around in TB to open lockboxes
You don't need to get a Hunter to lvl20 for aspect of the cheetah, honestly I prefer getting a Rogue to lvl10 for Sprint :D

I'll give you the best tip for the ultimate bank alt. Do a Tauren, Thunderbluff, it's the city with the closest AH to the bank, second best is SIlvermoon.
Ah yes, I really enjoyed going to the Silvermoon AH in Classic, shame I got banned for it.

theres more than 1 addon with the name Aux and there is the one u have said and there is also a simpler verison same with the postal there is a addon called Mail which is almost the same and for Informan there is SellValue
In terms of vanilla Wow, it's hard to remember what I learned in terms of having a bank alt. I do know that I didn't have enchanting on it but simply used it as a mule. Bag addons also annoy the heck out of me. As a very organised person, I had my own system of keeping things organised in my bags - in fact, I still do with every character I roll.
The only thing I can say is diversify. Don't stick to one way of trying to make gold. Use your professions, sure. But there are creative ways to save up gold - in Classic, don't expect to be able to charge exorbitant amounts for reagents or crafted items, either. Learn the market; and keep in mind when certain things sell the best, and when gathering agents can be snapped up cheaper.

@@kraqkilla3311 I started playing when I was 12 in 2004 (Beta) and I was just like them too, I organized everything in my bags, like mats go in this bag, all gear goes into that one, In the main bag hearthstone was first, skinning knife second, healing pots and then mana pots and then other kinds of pots and other consumables. I refused to get any bag addons for many expansions but I did at last, now I just do the same thing but with "one big bag".
My experience with people/players is that those who organize are usually have a lot higher (real life) intelligence then the ones who don't organize.

It was actually changed mid to late Vanilla. IRRC. Also idk if they gonna keep it that way at start of new launch either.

Is disenchanting green items always more profitable than vendoring them? How much does like Spring Dust AH for?
Depends on the stats and type of green.
If a green item is profitable to use for a character leveling, the item could be more profitable to sell at the Auction House.
On the other hand, a weapon goes for more at the Vendor, so vendoring a green weapon could be more profitable.
Regarding disenchanting, remember that people will always try to level up their professions, and a lot of people find it too tedious to grind instances for the greens to drop.
So either they buy the greens from the auction house/vendors, or they buy the materials gained from disenchanting.
Most common place to buy Enchantment materials is the Auction House.
The pricing differs from server to server. Mostly it depends on how much of the items there is available as well as how much demand there is for it.
Also Postal is not needed in Classic since multi-item mail is within Classic.

How much money do you spend in shipping fees?
on PvE servers on Horde, one Alliance at Booty Bay as well as one in each faction. During BC originally I found Copper on alliance selling for more than double on horde. Transact via booty bay. Put copper on for 95% of horde selling price. Buy it with your own horde alt. If someone else poaches it - great. You sold it for almost horde selling price. If they don't sell it on horde. Horde alt keeps the cash for the next transfer.
If you've got $50 early game get 5 accounts and start your own guild and close 3 of them after a month. 2 accounts for multibox levelling (not botting, no macros - you have to control both characters)

I prefer TB to Org. nicer layout, anvil/smelter is very accessible. fishing pond. reagent vendor. Very centralized area for most needs. Possibly better FP for most Kalimdor locations (maybe someone can do the math on that) Not just for bank alts but every toon.

dust usually sells for more at the AH than the item at the vendor. some plate shoulders with agi and spirit don't sell at all so you don't wanna put them in the AH and loose your deposit.
Because some items are utter trash and won't sell on the AH at all, because of how bad they are. They vendor for very little; but you can still disenchant them for the same mats as any other item around that level and those mats are far more profitable when sold in bulk at the AH.
Spirit is, agi does not much for warriors, the dmg mitigation from dodge and armor is not worth it. I'd rather disenchant those items and buy better stuff.
@Andrei Georgescu Actually far from it. You don't wanna level as fury anyway because your lack of hit just makes it frustrating.
In the later game you wanna get hit until soft cap (at 10%) and then 15 weapon skill (to reduce dmg penalty from glancing blows. Even after this, agi does very little to increase your crit. If I remember correctly only one item from fury BiS list does have agi on it (those pants from Naxx trash) because crit is usually easier to come by and you are generally punished for going after agi instead of str by attack power loss which furys do scale way better with.
Another nice plus for having Enchanting is if I remember correct that enchanting materials do not have a fee when you put them in the AH!

I can't find any blizzlike vanilla server anywhere. The only populated one has instant lv 60, and the 2nd best looking one has 15x xp, so nobody does leveling dungeons /:

If you're planning on getting a Hunter to level 20 for Aspect of the Cheetah. You might as well level it to 35 so that you can level your Enchanting all the way to Artisan and actually use that character as a proper Enchanter, sure you won't have the best recipes as some of them are BoP and come from high level dungeons and raids, but you'll still make a fair bit of gold enchanting simple stuff that ever raider will need like +4 to all stats on chest, and the minor speed increase to boots.
20 to 35 is like 4x the time investment than 1 to 20. Actually getting a profession to 300 is quite the investment itself too. And in case of enchanting not profitable at all. Huge money sink. Nobody pays for those low level enchants.
Bank alt, consumable alt, materials alt, future investment alt. Use all that. But you feel at what time it's worth the run and the bags

You might want to also have a bank alt sit in Booty Bay, so you can get ally recipes that sell for a lot more! Since they are hard to get as a horde, or have an Ally as a bank alt. I made tons of money in vanilla swapping recipes back and forth and getting stuff on my horde toons that only alliance can usually get. In vanilla the AH was not "shared", it was split. and there were 3 separate auction houses. Horde, Ally and Neutral. You want an Alt for all three and you want to scan it fast and get those recipes / items / etc for either side.
And should you get a recipe that sells for a lot, you might want to consider being able to USE it and selling what you MAKE. There are recipes for cooks, and first aide, and other professions that would sell for thousands, not just hundreds.
And on the enchanting side, you want to sell the enchants, not the mats. Use the mats to level up.

Not as far as I am aware. I have never ever experienced that myself.
I recommend getting to 35 on some alts for Arcanite/Enchanted Thorium CD's while your main remains herb/mining.

Thoughts on maxing a mage to use as a bank alt and a gold farmer on the same toon? Or is it better for your gold farmer to not have its bank full of stuff
I like going enchanting/tailor on my mages so it seems like a good fit
I don't think that would be a problem :) only thing is you'd need to do is keep track of your rotation between farm and AH
Ty for the Postall (i guess) addon, altho I've been using CTMassmail//Mailmod as well as AHMailcollect (opens all sold auctions automatically as well as open all option).
Aux is OP as, but dayum, TSM is amazeballs, basically the only reason I got back into retail (and subsequently banned) a year or two (maybe 3, lol) ago. Shit was SO cash, literally. Aux is deece if there is a server with some solid AH action on
If you don't mind me asking, was the ban related to use of TSM or similar addons? I'm sure some of the scans hit the server pretty hard. Just asking because I'm considering getting back into retail and will need gold after missing out on the WoD garrison gold missions. Don't want to risk my account, some of the things on it are irreplaceable now.
@@thrdeye7304 highly doubt it. They would much rather ban the addon instead of players using it. There once was a fishing bot addon. Nobody got banned for using it, but the addon stopped working. (2 days after I found it :( )

you need lvl 5 to get it to 75 but then u have to lvl up for more progression like the other professions.
All these add-on are either not available or not updated.....
lmao that disenchant window bug used to piss me off. I would be in a dungeon and would have to /reload.
For bank alts, it's very useful to have an alt account entirely. That way if you need something from your bank alt you can log in and trade it directly. An additional use of an alternate account is to run it as a "Sniper", where you install addons to scan the auction house and check items against their vendor value and if it costs less than a vendor price to auto-buy it. You essentially run that on an alt account in the background while you're actually playing your main account. People do this on retail all the time. The downside is that you have to wait for mail to come in (2 hours I believe).
The auto-compare trick is pretty damn smart for private servers, but I'm not sure if I'd pay for two accounts on retail. I guess if I'm afk for a while I could log onto the bank alt and auto-buy AH stuff

You don't need Auctioneer and informant to get the sell value of items, Aux has an expansion to it called Aux-Mechant-Price that does the same, and it's way better than running two auction house addons in my opinion.

Is it always profitable to disenchant green or garbage blue items instead of vendoring them?
Not always, the dust yield and item vendor value must be factored in, for example, a green dagger will sell for a lot less than a 2H Axe to the vendor but both will yield the same amount of dust. Same for armor, plate yields the same dust as cloth but goes for more than the vendor.

I think TSM had something that would tell you both the AH price and the vendor price when you mouse hover over it. Could have been another addon.

Mid vanilla they changed that though. I remember they did it because people were getting hacked and the hackers would go on their accounts and DE all their gear. So idk how they gonna approach it now with new release will it be like that at start or not?

Blizzard changed this in vanilla so you can't disenchant whatever you want. You needed to skill up in order to disenchant items. I would assume in Classic WoW, Blizzard will make you require to skill up in order to level up enchanting.
No they won't. They said now over and over that such things won't have changes. Private Servers run on 1.12.1, exactly on what classic will be based on.

Weapon Valhalla 2.0.1 was the prepatch to TBC when it changed. TBC wasn’t released yet. In 1.12.1 you could still do it.

Vanilla has no guild bank right? Plus you need 10ppl to sign for a guild in vanilla
@@infernz9482 the 10 people isnt a problem, just pay lvl 1s about 50 silver to sign up then kick them, but if there isnt guild banks then ya, that plan will be worthless
