    What I found out while trolling on Kuori: Fluff hooks lower biterate of cautious fish (Trouts, Chars, etc.), but increase biterate of fish that aren't as cautious (Perch, Vendace), bigger hook means bigger fish but less biterate, smaller hook means smaller fish but more biterate (Size 1 is the best for trolling on Kuori imo), I mostly use the Rage S1 hooks and put them on all my lures, I use 3 rods, one with Dodger Crank 10 007, one with Balsa Minnow 006 and one with Snatcher 11 002, the Dodger and Snatcher seem to attract Sevans, Chars and Rainbows way more than the Balsa but the Balsa attracts bigger fish on average. This game works weirdly but all we have to do is experiment and share our knowledge, this is what I learned in one week of trolling on Kuori.

    From my experience - hook is a link in the setup just like leader end so on. Better hook - stronger link - you can fight more aggressively.
    Also - cheep hook can actually brake off so for example not changing cheep hook on jerk lures will almost guarantee loosing a big pike trofi more often.

      This is true and I can't believe I forgot to add it in. I've had a few hook break on me during a big fight because they were a little cheap.

    I love the fluffy hooks.
    I've had days when I was getting bites over and over before I could even move the lure, it'd just hit the water and I get a bite like fly fishing or something lol.

    The Dragonlfly Bell 2 007 has been awesome for me at Belaya. Not as good as the silver and blue hornet but I can cast it a little further. Also the DF Bell 2 004 at night has been pretty good :)
    I meant to post this in your latest Belaya video but kept forgetting.
    I've heard hook strength can be a factor into the strain bar at the bottom as the weakest part of the setup, but I'm guessing maybe only on the bigger fish/lighter gear perhaps?
    I really noticed the "missed hookup" opportunities when trolling on on Kuori. It seemed to get a bite every few seconds then go away. Good to know why now.
    Great video mate :)

      Thanks for the info on the Dragonflys still being active I appreciate that. I have a few people that ask me every day what is hot on Bel, like i should know lol. As far as hook strength I think no matter what level the hook or player it is always taken into account on the tension bar. If you go into the lure screen you can see at the bottom of the hooks they have a durability, which I forgot to mention in the video. If they have a durability they have a weight capacity, and that stinks in my opinion.

    The star quality on lures just refers to the hooks they come with afaik. Smaller hooks mean higher bite rate on lures, larger hook is lower bite rate but on average larger fish. It's just how the spawning mechanics work. As for size and fga, the issue is if the hook is too small for the species, you have a higher chance of losing it when fighting it. Using an appropriately sized hook for the target lowers that risk.

    • @midnightgamingmysticnightmare
      @midnightgamingmysticnightmare  3 года назад

      Meh I don't agree when it comes to hook sizes and lures. It may work for bottom fishing and the size of the hook determining different size fish because the size of the hook determines the size of the bait, which in turn determines the size of the fish. However with lures the size, shape, depth, action and color of the lure is what determines the size and bite rate of the fish, not the hook size. I've seen no difference between smaller hooks and larger hooks catching the exact same sized fish and keeping them on the line. As far as chance of losing the fish imo that's all about hook quality, not size. If the size of the hook is what determined the fish size and bite rate then there wouldn't be any use of different colored and sized lures. And if the size of the hook also determined chance of losing a fish then there wouldn't be any reason for different quality hooks either, other than kg weight limit.

      @@midnightgamingmysticnightmare Interesting, i'm trying to decipher what all the lures do. I'm a new player and i'm only getting sub 800g fish (got 1kg something Chub on the 2nd map though! Once baring in mind :( ) . Interesting that the lure type is more about just the hook size, i'll try some more as I only really like spinning, the other methods are kinda dull to me. TY

    • @midnightgamingmysticnightmare
      @midnightgamingmysticnightmare  Год назад

      @@theduke5908 I wouldn't say the lure type is more about the hook size. In fact the majority of the same size lures have the exact same hook size. However different lure colors, depth and action will catch much smaller or larger fish. Also the speed you're reeling can cause larger, smaller, or different species of fish to bite. Best I can say is at higher levels the tackle shop sells lures with very small hooks, usually only about size 1 or 1/0. However we are pulling in massive fish anywhere from 1kg to 50kg. Yet for some reason people still have the idea it's the hook size determining fish size not the style or type of lure.

      @@midnightgamingmysticnightmare That's really cool, I had no idea. I thought it would be video gamey, and that all the lures just did the same stuff. Thanks for clarifying.

    You should make a video explaining when to use mech weights and how to efficiently use them while fighting fish to tire them out. I'm level 28 and never knew when to use my mech weight to my advantage. I know its used when you lock your drag, but most of the time I've tried that, I have to switch it back down to 29 with in a second of locking it. Edit: If its more simple than I think, then just comment explaining when I should use it, ty!

    • @midnightgamingmysticnightmare
      @midnightgamingmysticnightmare  3 года назад +2

      There is only 2 times to use mech weight (lock your reel). First, when you've got 80kg and up cat fishing gear that is much higher weight capacity than any fish you could hook, so you don't break your gear when you lock your brake so you don't have to fight the fish. Second, if you've fought a big fish till its tired and it's too big to finish reeling in and get in your boat or net, then you may need to lock your gear. Other then those two reasons I suggest never locking your brake.

    i'm almost sure there is a link between the size of the hook and the probability of the fish getting of. but that's easy to try just put small hooks on a big lure

    • @midnightgamingmysticnightmare
      @midnightgamingmysticnightmare  2 года назад

      I very rarely change my hooks on lures. Usually the hook that comes with the lure is smaller than what most people like to change them too. I've never seen a difference in losing a fish on a smaller hook than a larger.

    Idk i gotta cheap black spinner used it on Kaori and it sucked i go a bigger higher rated hook and i have lost one yet on the lure but wid stock hooks lost 4 fish in a row

    • @midnightgamingmysticnightmare
      @midnightgamingmysticnightmare  8 месяцев назад +1

      Cheap lures have cheap low grade hooks you'll get a lot of "fish got off" messages. Replace the hooks with higher quality hooks and it helps get less "fish got off" messages but you'll still get them every now and then. Depending on what stock hook the lure or spinner comes with it will always affect the "fish got off" message rate. If you're lure comes with great high quality hooks as stock, which most of the high star rated lures do, you'll see much less "fish got off" messages. However, you'll always get some.

      I just recently found out that hooks actually have a weight limit. It's possible that the specific hooks you were using couldn't handle the fish. Also if you go into your lure screen and look at your hooks, your hooks also have a durability. Could they have been worn down so they had less durability and broke?

    • @midnightgamingmysticnightmare
      @midnightgamingmysticnightmare  3 года назад

      I'll consider it. It really depends on if Kuori becomes hot again. Right now it's a little slow, but still somewhat active. I really don't go there unless I hear people in chat really hyping up how active it is.

      Kuori is extremely weather sensitive. Try to fish there when you see it will be below 10 degrees. Cloudy if possible.

    i dont think that fluff or color of hook matters at all. if you take the devs comments for leaders, that fish are programmed for diameter of the leader not that color. so using that theory a red black silver or copper s1 hooks will act all the same. like you for a awhile i bought all fluff hooks and noticed absolutely no difference. to go deeper, maybe someone started it to promote buying hoks and spending money to get gold for silver. like you i just replace all the hooks with 5 star hooks. it isnt many though

    • @midnightgamingmysticnightmare
      @midnightgamingmysticnightmare  3 года назад

      Now see this is the kind of helpful information that gives us a better view of the game mechanics. Awesome info about the leaders btw. Although I'd go a little further and say fish are programed for leader diameter and length as well.

      The text for some of the carp hooks actually says "increases bite rate". This probably means there's at least something on all hooks.
