    I enjoyed listening to this live version more than any other that I have heard as well. I love how Stevie's voice has aged. It sounds weathered and worn and you can tell her vocal cords have been subject to an abnormal amount of cigarette smoke years ago. All of that aside she still can pull it off and for some reason i find her current singing addictive to listen to. She has adjusted a lot of her songs a bit to in avoiding high notes. I especially notice this in Dreams. When she sings Sara in this video she surprisingly nailing the high notes and sustaining them with nicely controlled slower vibrato then she used to. I think its kinda funny how she goes flat on a sustained high note just before the note ends. I am pretty sure it is deliberate because it sounds so controlled and it adds a little character to her singing. Anybody else notice this and know what I am talking about?

    • @michelle88960
      @michelle88960 8 лет назад +3

      +dmbfannh What is her vocal register? I have noticed over the years from the first self titled Fleetwood Mac album, onwards it has changed. Especially if you listen to Landslide from the mid 70's compared to now when she sings it, it is a very different vocal. Still great, I'm a big Stevie fan, and have tried singing along to Landslide, but I can't get the low notes.

      Of course there's going to always be something there between them, they met when they were kids, She was Lindsey's 1st and I am pretty sure Stevie's 1st also(she's a year or so older). You can't fall deeply in love like that as teens and basically remain together off and on for decades and not feel something. I feel bad for Lindsey's wife knowing he will always love Stevie, Unless she knew it, accepted it and lives with it.

      **UNEXPECTED WALL OF TEXT**
      I might be wrong.... but the way I see it she left him because she had to find Sara on her own.
      Sara manifested herself to Stevie through a sea of love, through Fleetwood Mac.
      But Sara has always been the poet driving her heart, her most vulnerable and creative core.
      She confused Sara as the result of her relationship, her circumstances, not from herself. She accepted the abuse by fear of losing the fire.
      She believed it would be gone then, but Sara lives on. Independent Stevie, looking back at her former lover, looking at all the beauty her perceived perfect match had made possible inside herself. Letting go of the confusion and resentment, she dwelves in sweet nostalgia and gratitude, keeping the best of the worst.
      The song moves me deeply. I've never been a fan of Fleetwood Mac but I discovered them during a tough breakup this year. Sara speaks to me of the traces that are left inside us from the people we love. Of this person we become when in love, the most beautiful version of ourselves who, we believe, can only exist through the eyes of another. We shouldn't wait for someone else to let our beauty out. To me ... Stevie is at peace because Sara won't ever be lost. "It never really died". She will forever be thankful for what love has unlocked in her. But now her eyes are wide open.

      @@renzy5270 False. In December 2014 Stevie told the Daily Mail that 'she'd never had anyone be physical with her in her life'. Noone has ever abused her. The story of Lindsey abusing her is nothing but a myth; a lie. Stevie herself has never accused Lindsey of being violent to her. When Mick Fleetwood published his first autobiography, he claimed that Lindsey had been violent to Stevie during a band meeting in August 1987. But that story was refuted by Stevie herself, and both she and Mick later apologized to Lindsey.

      The song is a about a combination of many different things. By the time "Sara" was recorded and released (Tusk 1979), Lindsey and Stevie had stop being a "couple" for a few years (relationship ended in late 1976 /early 1977). The song itself has nothing to do with Buckingham. It was written about her failed relationship with Don Henley (The Eagles), the loss of her pregnancy with Henley's child, which if she would have given birth the child's name was going to be "Sara." The latter part of the song references her relationship/affair with Mick Fleetwood. Mick is referred to as the "Great Dark Wing within the wings of a storm." Mick would drop by Stevie's apartment residence and pick her up and they would drive off to be together. The "wings of a storm," is Stevie realizing the consequences of their affair should it be exposed (Mick was married at the time) and its affect on the other band members (especially Lindsey).
