Although this film isn't on the same level as the trilogy, i really liked this movie
Same here. It was good
I thought it wasss good
Yeah although I can agree with Eric on a few things which made me only watch every once in a while & hopefully ‘crossing my fingers here’ the sequel to kingdom either? will massively improve and be like Caesar’s trilogy or will flat out be inconsistent like in this one so my hopes are both neutral balanced.
I’m not the biggest fan of the film but I do understand how impacted he was by Raka, I’d probably change my whole worldview after hanging out with Raka for a week
I enjoyed it, but not as much as Dawn and War.
Same. Good but not great
Agreed
Kingdom honestly was pretty surprising. It's not as good as the Caesar films, but I would still say I enjoyed it.
Well even the worst apes movies are always watchable.. That doesn't make them good
@@mullaoslofacts, I feel like this movie is number 5 for me in terms of the planet of the apes movies. With the original being in the top 3, and the Casear trilogy being 1,2, and 4.
1:24 legit thought the same thing when i watched it. I kept getting confused between soona and anaya
Fun fact, Eric, on May 17th-19th I actually got to meet actor Kevin Durand (who plays Proximus Caesar) add a horror movie convention here in Texas. And when I met him, I said was “ Here’s a fan letter to Katheryn Newton. Also good luck on the new planet of the apes movie.”
I liked Kingdom--I thought it was well made and I'm on board with Noa. But the story was very safe and sometimes predictable. With the awesome world building and character setup they've done, there's potential for more complex stories. Hopefully Disney doesn't keep it so safe.
Wes Ball put every single penny on screen. Better than any other filmmaker could. You're eventually going to rewatch this movie and you'll feel ashamed that you initially under sold it.
Well we need to figure out when the other 2 new films will come out
Short answer: No
Are you still gonna do your James Cameron’s Avatar versus video?
Will we find out that noa distant direct descendants from Cornelius in future sequels because he lookalike Caesar and they both have same eyes and birthmark?and sunna might be blue eyes lake descendants because she resembles lake?
For me I think you have to have a certain understanding as to what the movie is truly about in order to appreciate it, this movie is not about noa, proximus, or may this movie is still about cesar, it’s still his story just the next chapter his legacy, what his legacy means to the new generations and what comes from it, that’s why it opens on his funeral it’s already telling us it’s his story even if he’s not in it
Please do How to train your dragon vs Kung fu panda?
To be fair, I think it is unfair to compare this movie to Caesar’s trilogy and view it as its own thing, people like me who adore that trilogy know that it won’t really reach the same level as those movies.
That being said I really enjoyed this film and me intrigued to see where it goes next.
I thought this was Godzilla x Kong lol
Eric, great video as always dude!!! Also have you played Spider-Man Miles Morales and if you have what do you think of it?
I liked it. I went in with low expectations and came out with it exceeding my expectations, it didn’t feel mind blowing like the previous trilogy but I thought that the story was decent. Like I had no idea about any possibility they could even base the story off on, the fact that they even pulled off a valid storyline was great
Godzilla x kong the new empire movie reviews?
My biggest problem with the movie is the main human girl Mae she is wearing modern clothing while the rest of the humans are wearing rags and animal skins she supposed to be a primitive human, but they gave her modern clothing when it set years after the apocalypse but realistically, the human should not be wearing any clothing at all even the original planet of the apes film gets that wrong I recently read a comic that’s more faithful to the original book the humans were all naked at the beginning of the story yeah I get it if they made Mae Nude in movie will get R rating yeah all the violence is OK long as you don’t show a nipple then everything is OK the same thing goes to Tarzan and the jungle book having nudity in those movie has gone too far but it will be more realistic
Mae wasn't one of the primitive humans, though
She wore modern clothing because she wasn't infected by the virus, it shows how shes different from the devolved humans
Did you not watch the movie?
Score is fantastic, I would argue that the application of the score is lackluster, you should listen to the soundtrack, it’s absolutely buried in the film. Not sure that is on the composer.
Hmm interesting. I was not aware of that. Which of the tracks from the score would you say are the best?
Because throughout the movie I was paying close attention to the score and it didn't impress me.
@@EricCarter12 Discovery, Eagle Clan, Kingdom For Apes, Memories Of Home, Human Hunt, Together Strong, We Will Rebuild.
@@EricCarter12 this is a good breakdown of the score. ruclips.net/video/Eqwjh4JAh4g/видео.htmlsi=JM6ASXayo9XchE7D
I had recently rewatched the Modern Planet of the Apes Trilogy and I loved it. All three of those movies were great and this trilogy has become one of my favorite movie trilogies of all time. I hadn't seen Kingdom but my Ranking for the trilogy is: Dawn > War > Rise.
As someone who watched the Caesar Trilogy, I feel the same as you about Kingdom. It's not a bad movie but it feels way too bland for Apes movies that have the tradition of being bold, even in the old series. Noah is your typical adventure protagonist who goes from point A to point B because the plot said so. And I don't like where Mae story is heading either since we may have another apes vs human conflict but judging by the writing of Kingdom, I'm scare that it won't offer any new insight that I haven't seen before or as emotionally invested as I did with the Trilogy.
You still have to give you're opinions on Godzilla X Kong, Dune Part 2, and Kung Fu Panda 4!
I thought it was amazing thought the music was good and and I liked it more then war Will say the villain was a little underwhelming I think the CGI was absolutely beautiful. Loved almost all The characters and can’t really say much bad about it. would give it like an 8.5
I haven’t seen the movie yet but it did need some improvement with the story and characters, I prefer scar king for GXK more than proximus ceaser because he had more character when he fought kong but I don’t think the villian in apes had that here, I’m still gonna watch this movie and see how it goes.
I enjoyed it, nowhere near as good as the first three but still
It doesn't take Disney to insert strong female characters. Take a look at Alice Abernathy from the six Resident Evil films. She makes all of Disney's look more compelling in comparison.
Please do review or versus battle with godzilla x kong the new empire
@Eric Carter can you do a review on Godzilla x kong?
At the start of the review did you like the Maze Runner trilogy? I liked them but I will admit the Apes trilogy is better.
I only saw the first movie and I enjoyed that one. I heard the rest were pretty generic and had nothing to do with the Maze concept. So I didn't feel the urge to watch them after that.
@@EricCarter12 do you intend to compare this film to one of the others
Do you like the maze runner moviess
Have you seen Godzilla x Kong or Kung Fu Panda 4
Do Godzilla x Kong the new empire review
I found Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes to be boring and formulaic. 4/10 for me
The movie was solid in my opinion, weakest out of the new films but still a good watch. Saw it twice actually.
Fun fact: The Main Villain was inspired by Elon Musk.
I wonder which is better:
KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES
OR
GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE?
Kingdom is better imo but GxK is more rewatchable
@@KiddingCell The humans were better in the GXK but not the little girl’s ancestral people. They acted far too modern.
Both are great
How are you going to compare two completely different movies?
@@PeanutJr. That’s what people always do you moron.
I think this movie is more hopeful and while I agree it is not as good as the originals it allows for more world building. I think your problems make sense but this also allows for more philosophy and expansion of the lore. They question Caesar's philosophy and yet use it to thrive and I think it's beautiful in that way. This is what the Sequels should have been.
Honestly, I never seen a new one. I don't know if it's good or bad honestly. I've seen people saying it's good, but honestly. I love the other 3. My most favorite one is the third 1 which I always love. D, it's actually really good the other 2. Well, they're fine. Honestly, but I really am looking forward to maybe watching in. Is it really good and don't spoil it for me
Disney ran Star Wars and Marvel into the ground, and yet get mad at fans for being scared off and not supporting their crap movies and shows. Disney are such hypocrites. I hear Spider-Man: Homecoming’s re release is flopping at the box office (I know Sony made it but still it’s MCU/Marvel related), meaning everyone is sick of anything associated with Disney as a whole. I even hear some sources say Deadpool and Wolverine’s pre orders aren’t as good as expected so just saying everything is at risk (doesn’t mean it’ll flop nor be a bad movie necessarily but you get what I’m saying). By the way, I hear this new Planet of the Apes is underperforming right now. Do you think that could mean trouble for the franchise? Also, great review Eric! 😊👍
When you mentioned that some things are missing, yeah, there are some moments that should be explored more, especially with the villains. I heard in the interview by Wes Ball that there were 30 to 40 minutes of deleted scenes, and is hoping to releases a director's cut. If that's the case, then that's good. Hopefully that comes to fruition. We all like directors cut with extra content. He also stated that this was the most difficult movie to make. So I respect him for trying to make something good. Even though it's not on the same quality as the last 3 movies. But I think it's a really enjoyable, good solid entry that honors Ceasar's legacy. I give it an 8/10 or a B.
Lucky I was in a small theater room to watch this movie and it made the experience better without it being packed . And it’s really odd as I watched it on open day. You really need to pay attention to it, it is those kind of movies
Will u be doing mad max vs furiousa and dune part 1 vs part 2
What did you think of the villains Proximus Ceaser and his human slave Travathan?
I really liked Proximus and his endeavours. But I really wish we got more screen time with him. And the final battle with him was over as soon as it started.
His human slave was decent but also contributed to the problem I had with the unexplained intelligent Humans plotline.
@@EricCarter12will you do a versus video on this anytime soon
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO!
Hey Eric what do you think of the writer they got for the MCU X-Men movie?
Something I kinda looked at the mess. Understanding of Caesars. Waze almost felt like, and I’m not complaining I actually kind of like this, but that one side of the apes believed Caesars away. Wow the other ones and sorry if I messed up that’s for leave the ways of Kona
No. Period. Without Ceasar, it could never be as good. Ceasar himself has carried the entire franchise.
They go together with each other
I respect your opinion that you didnt liked it and I do agree that this is no where NEAR as phenomenal as the Caesar Trilogy but i actually loved the movie. Is Dawn still a 10/10 for you and did War's score got bumped up?
I knew this would end up being the "Disney take" on this franchise and thats not a good thing
Planet of the Apes 2 was the best, 3rd movie was crap[
I actually like proximous more than Koba
Do I have to watch the Caesar trilogy in order to watch Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes ?
Well to understand the context of it all, then yes
No, but I'd still recommend you watch them
Kingdom is an AWFUL movie. I cant believe people are giving it any sort of credit. The story is lackluster and the cgi is downright terrible!
The CGI in War, which released 7 years ago, feels more crisp and details than Kingdom and I'm confuse. Isn't technology suppose to be evolve with time like the trilogy did?
