Removing mines as well I found that just replacing the tweeter and adding an extra base box on the opposite side did the trick for me way way way more bass and highs really good now 😊
Have you played with the time alignment on both of the dsp? Your audio system is active, I would recommend doing a time alignment and tune your system. Here are my frequency response output for my speakers Mid Range 300hz to 3khz Mid Bass 50hz - 4.5khz tweeters 3khz-22khz
Just had this installed on my 2020 M3 Performance aaannnnnd, just scheduled my installer to remove it next week. Huge disappointment I’m sorry to say. I will try to describe: gain on all speakers is higher so essentially louder and with a bit higher treble. Voice on most songs just sound ‘off’ and adjusting eq slightly improves but something just not right. The subwoofer is the worst part. Even professional installer couldn’t get it to sound better. Bass is NOT more than stock premium sub even when you adjust sub level, crossover, etc. Also, audio prompts such as navigation now sound really strange and comes from all speakers instead of favoring driver which I don’t like. Subwoofer control in latest Tesla update doesn’t work now. I’m going to take a guess that the Dec 2021 software update from Tesla, that significantly improved bass and sound quality for stock premium stereo was not what Hansshow tuned with and things are just a mess in every way. Removing this kit next week. I now appreciate stock system even more though certainly not perfect.
This isn't for cars that already have premium sound, ie long range and performance. It's for standard range, idk why you would get this kit if you already had premium audio.
Just ordered one & a couple other goodies. Thanks for the discount code. I am a big audio guy & like your saying the premium system is missing a little bass. I do have a termlab magnum meter for audio testing, I can do a test before & after to see if any major differences. Thanks for all the videos always indef, & good reviews. Keep up the good work.
I'd also like to see the before and after. If it isn't too much trouble, I think comparing the OEM to this without the new bass and with the new bass would be great to know. I'm on the fence as the price is quite high and the return policy includes a 5% fee.
Sorry just got around to installing the DSP system that was shown in this video. The factory system peaked at 45hz & metered a 130.2 decibels the meter was on the windshield car was sealed up. Also tested with everything added as shown in the video car still peaked at 45hz meter same position & only metered a 126.7 decibels. I will admit it sounds a lot cleaner & louder, but the meter doesn't like for decibel out put although it does sound louder. I did notice the sine waves were a lot cleaner once the DSP was added. My testing was done with a termlab Magnum that I use for judging IASCA SPL shows.
So the system is $1200 with the sub (before discount), but $665 without the sub replacement. Is that Hansshow sub (and added install hassle) really worth the $545 difference? That's damn near the cost of adding the NVX 10" to the other side of the trunk. Also, am I the only one not seeing where/how we adjust the DSP? I get that it prob has a preconfigured setting, but it's also got a USB cable presumably for adjusting it via PC.
2022 model 3 standard range I have is there a way to hook up my 4 speakers which are tweeters i believe, as in connect them cause they are disconnected I think, pillar speakers
Hi Cody! Brian from i1Tesla just recommended that we watch this video to learn how to install Hansshow’s sound upgrade system in a Model 3! Brian and Cody are both super awesome dudes.
Just installed the version F and my DAB radio has lost its signal. Did this happen to you? When I change it back to original connectors DAB comes back and works fine
Im really contemplating this I do have a question though. Would you be scared with blowing any speakers on this upgrade? I saw you went half way but have you tested it maxed out or with the lightshow volume?
Thank you so much for doing this. I've been so disappointed in this sound system since I bought it. In fact it's my only compliant about the car. Awesome.
that’s weird because my m3p is going really strong, maybe mess around with your music settings a bit. Most people also say the sound system is the best part of the Tesla. Do you have the cheaper standard model plus as this doesn’t have the expensive system that the model 3 performance and long range has. Not only that, the sound system was made by ex sound engineers from bang and olfusen
It sounds like it basically adds a v-shaped eq to the speakers. It's definitely what most people prefer but it's not what the music maker intended their music to be listened on. :)
Great video, thank you Cody. I’m a big DIYer and wonder if you agree this install is for advanced installers. It went from moderate to advanced when instructions were ambiguous causing stripped screws, bracket reversed, tweeter cables reversed, and impossible to insert cable inside clips, etc. You are absolutely correct, even with my Bose noise-cancelling earphones, I can’t tell the difference so we must take your word for it. Now, how much does this cost?
It is in the description but from $800-$1400. Mine is $1400 and worth every penny (assuming I had to buy it). Yes I think most of these are more advanced installs. If I wasn’t the first to install this and had a video like this to walk me through it then it would have been a breeze so maybe not anymore.
So you only replaced the subwoofer or all of the speakers? But reused the original amplifier? I have the Razer Hammerhead wireless earphones, and I can hear a difference, but it all comes down to Your microphone, your video editor compression, RUclipss compression and as you said the speaker people are listening on.
You use all the OEM speakers except the sub in the back. The two DSP's you install enhance the stock speakers to sound better...I am not all that in tune to know much of a difference there but the sub is 100% different.
I have a $500k sHD songs each around 350MB per song with tons of info.at home with serious sound. I use wav files they play best. WIll do this as you suggest and trust your ears...thank you
Just installed the Hansshow LR version B Pro in the 2022 LR. Seems the mapping in the DSP is wrong. When I set balance to rear left, sound comes out of front right and no sound comes from rear deck speakers at all. Do you have a copy of the large dsp settings you used?

I pretty much got told it's my installation on the WhatsApp. I just laughed & kept sending him videos of how neat & zip tied the wires were. & That it's about 3" of hardware with no place to put the trunk liner over. I am beginning to think the Asian made m3's as re different than the ones made here in the states or hansshow is just full of it.
@@CfTesla Speaking of differences, what would happen if you swapped back the OEM subwoffer? Would the sound still sound better with only the DSP? I'm struggling swallowing the price, even with the discount. I may have to hold off until next year after all the reviews and tests come in.

After bolting them on I started to experience static noise coming from the speakers, after many resets and unplugging and re-plugging cables I finally figured I have to put tape around the top bolts of the bracket/panel and only then I was able to get rid of the static noise. Btw my car is a SR+ with premium audio (it doesn't have a factory subwoofer) Oh and thanks for the video, with some minor adjustments, following your video I installed the kit on a right hand drive car.
@Wuping automotive electrical tape, I had real bad static noise when I installed it first and isolating the nut with tape fixed that issue but as for faint noise, I can't be certain if I have it or not

I just purchase NVX and about to install.. it’s an extra sub woofer added to the left side of the trunk.. wondering if adding hansshow with the light harmonic would be better then the NVX since the hansshow adds to the mids and tweeters as well.. or going crazy and using all 3??
