fishanhunter this is perfect and the powerstroke is heavier than duramax thats why it won first cuz it caused more friction and gained tracktion faster so it pulled first then duramax did it the second and third
PRO_BACON 22 Are you fucking dull? It's a single cab, short wheel based truck. Even with 35s, it's lighter than this durashit. Not to mention, it won the first one because the Chevy held his brakes. In every other pull the powerstroke lost traction. It's mud tires vs street tires on a paved road, what has more traction?
Some of these comments are amazing I can about imagine if the Chevy was a single cab and the Ford a crew cab every bow tie lover sister humper would say it's was unfair
@samuelhorner6200 my stock 6.p runs great and I didn't put 15k into it... and to do head studs it don't cost nearly that much. A shop near me can do it for 7k....
I was going to correct myself, it does add weight, just it doesnt add much more weight. But as I was saying, with all those extra mods that truck has (new tires, lift kit, new torsion bars etc... It would probably equal to more weight then the extra 2 doors on the chevy do. Also the ford has the advantage of height, basically pulling the back wheels of the chevy so all they can do is slip.
that regular cab is going to weigh less than the crew cab. loves both trucks though. There's vids of F-150s pulling 2500HDs. It's all about weight and traction. As long as it's American made your good!
Agreed: first to spin tires will always lose. Spinning tires pull maybe 1/2 as hard as when they stay hooked up. That's why once you start a burnout it's easy to keep it going. In 4L on a modern diesel truck you've got more than enough torque multiplication to break all the tires loose in a situation like this so it's not really about the engine. If these contests measure anything on equal pavement, it's tires and who weighs the most.
i agree with you on almost everything except for the height in this case cause if you notice that strap is pretty straight cause the ford has a drop hitch and the chev has a raised hitch seen at 1:09 and that chevy is probably about 400-500 heavier
depends on the height of the hitch or attachment point. Sled pullers with tall trucks arent as good and break shit easily some are good but the best are low to the ground. You want the attachment point as low as possible. Keeps the weight of the front of the truck on the ground= more traction o
The Ford is a Long bed there hoss, and the higher you can hook onto your truck the better, thats why they have hitch height requirements at the tugs at county fairs. It is ALL about traction, weight adds to the friction that gives you traction.
Tire width may have potentially helped the ford the slightest bit...plus presumably superior tires...and its taller so the chevy is pulling down on the fords rear versus up on the chev. These pulls don't mean anything, just a great way to decide who has better tires. And eat transmissions.
I don't work on them, but my good buddy works on them, that's all they run in the school busses he works on, and he says they are crap. if it needs a expensive repair off the lot than its crap I would take a 7.3 over that boat anchor any day. Ill have to get a video of the collection of blown up 6.0's at my buddys shop, its impressive
@Deaton1989... Not always kid, it depends on the tread as well, if the skinny tire has shitty tread, it wont get better traction than a wide, new tire. Surface area can add to the friction needed for traction as long as the tread design is suitable
look hear you got a 4 door heavy Chevy at factory hight and a lifted regular cab short box real light ford I wonder why the ford didn't win... you must not really know trucks if you didn't realize that bud
Brad Gottschalk all about weight...was at a truck pull back in 2010 and a guy in a 86 3/4 ton stock motor won the whole comp because he literally weighed the most there...beating Cummins duramax poweestoke everything...lol all about the weight
I'm a Cummins man myself, but when it comes to these truck pulls it really is the driver. A gas burning chevy could beat that Ford if he knows what he's doin and the ford driver don't. It's all in the way you do it
Gave you a thumbs up on that one for sure, but, I will say, that rope was pretty level, and that taller tires are negating the traction gained from the width.. especially that tall, he was eatin up that bottom end torque.
Fords best parts our from canda the trucks that are made there are a beast, Chevy all it is, is Chinese. Now 60s,70s,80s ford, chevy an dodge were good. Ford did good in the 90s but 87-91 trucks were shity. Their 7.3 turbos aren't bad i had one lifted with 35s never had a issue. Showed up a few dirtymaxes. 87-till now Chevy is junk waste of money.
Totally agree, but the 6.0 is not a pile a crap. Its just the ignorant people who can't take of their diesel pickup. I guess most were used to the old 7.3 where you can abuse them all day and they would be fine.
lifted lowered dosnt matter. unless its a short strap or a big diffrence in height. wheelbase and weight are huge factors though. along with traction. the ford was on the dusty side of the road and was as short as it could possibly be. all argueing aside they were both riding the brakes which makes it not fair. eitherway nice trucks and good video
the lifted truck gets weight pulled from the front to the rear and the lower truck gets weight pulled from the rear and goes to the front where it already has a heavy ass motor. in order for a pull to be fair both trucks need to have the strap hooked up so its leveled and straight not going up or down at an angle. next they need the same weight. then they need the same sized tires and then you can pull and see which one is better.
Oh ok.. Well I cant tell u right now its holding up better then my buddies brand new 2012 yamaha grizzly 700, already a broken axle. I dont take it easy on mine either, and I havnt had one problem. I mainly got it becaus of arctic cats suspension, u just cant beat there independant suspension. It also offers the smoothest ride of any ATV Ive ever driven. Im not just saying that because I own one
Ive owned them all 7.3 power break down. cummings blow a load. wouldnt trade my 450,000 mile duramax never broke and never costed me two legs and a nut for all the rest. i pull cars all over the US. just my experience with diesels
Anybody else here like me?, People getting so fired up over what trucks better, i mean yea im a Chevy guy, but all i need is a carb, a wheel, and a stick. The name on the tailgate or emblem in the front really dont matter to me
or the one with the highest back bumper, it'll left the back tires of the smaller truck n it will then have to rely in the front tires, while it adds a shit load more weight to the back tires of the opposing truck
A lift kit does take away power, mainly torque, I'm not mechanically knowledgeable to know how it does, but it does. Why do you think sled pulling diesels are never lifted? And big wide tires kill the power, the more weight the drive axle have to turn is all lost power. The Duramax with those smaller tires is getting loads more traction than the Powerstroke.
wooww i am not a ford guy at all but when i first seen this video i for sure thought he was going to win cause he hos nearly 16" width tires, that is alot of traction compare to some little 285/75/r16's lol
first to spin the tires always loses....im a chevy guy but thats just a fact. oh and also power only plays a small role in a tug, alot of it goes to ride height, center of gravity, and the big one grip.
Ford is single cab, short bed and chevy is crew cab short bed...Weight is what wins in pulls. Plus I'm sure the truck is not properly geared for those 38s
I love people that put up videos like this. A single cab lifted vs a crew cab stock. You know the lower stock will win almost everytime. Especially cause it's a crew cab, there's more weight there. And I love all the people that talk shit about Chevy being better or ford being the best or dodge being the best. Half of you don't even own diesels to begin with, and half of you only say what you think is better just cause of the emblem on the front.. Learn your facts about each before talking shit.
remember that time when you'd type superduty vs dodge or dmax and ued get all these videos of trucks racing n shit...what a time to be alive....but ya ..tug of war...or "let's see who's drive shaft breaks first wheeew!"
Tires do matter. More surface area, less pressure per square unit. It's like a track on a sled, longer track more floatation. I KNOW the Duramax rolls off the line with more torque and HP than the 6.0 did, but those tires killed the Ford in this one. It's like football cleats vs tennis shoes on grass.
how about that both trucks are plenty powerful and it doesnt really matter which is more powerful since theyd both get the job done? look at it that way?
No it's mainly about which truck has more tire traction for example I have a 1992 f150 and it beat a 2001 Chevy 1500 but his tires was a year old mine were 2 months
Did any notice the stroker shutoff after the maxer pull it close to the camera and restarted? BTW the 7.3 is the best stroker and the lbz is the best and last preemissioned Max ever produced and as for cummins you can't go wrong with either one 5.9 24v 6bbt is a classic 💎 I sided with GM born around bowties.
I usually don't comment on these videos but as I read the comments it occurred that nobody understands they all give you trouble and it takes an idiot to hook two trucks together and dog the crap out of them.
Taller trucks only have the upper hand IF THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE TWO IS VERY SHORT ( tow strap length hitch to hitch) Depending on how much the height difference is. Example: If one trucks hitch is 3" HIGHER.. than that truck will have the advantage if the strap distance is about 6.5ft. OR LESS!! The shorter the distance the more advantage the higher force gains. Now, CENTER OF GRAVITY is also an ADVANTAGE to the LOWER FORCE.. HOWEVER, The same rule applies in opposite meaning... The LOWER FORCE can only gain the upper hand if the strap distance is LONG ENOUGH for GRAVITY TO APPLY TO THE SHORTER HITCH. So the 3" height advantage can be completely taken away if the strap length is At least 7.5ft. SO, The LONGER the strap distance becomes once past the 7.5ft. THE GREATER THE CENTER OF GRAVITY ADVANTAGES BECOMES.... UNTIL THE LENGTH REACHES A POINT THAT ELIMINATES THE CENTER OF GRAVITY ADVANTAGES RESULTING IN A FAIR AND EVEN PLAIN... SO BASICALLY IF THERE A 3" HEIGHT ADVANTAGE THEN THE STRAP NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST 15' FEET LONG.. HITCH TO HITCH TO BE ON AN EVEN PLAIN AND NO ADVANTAGES FOR EITHER FORCE
really the only thing the 6.0l has that the duramax doesnt is the intake elbow, the headstuds and EGR delete do nothing for performance/power, the headstuds just keep the heads from blowing off from the power added by the tuner and the EGR delete just makes sure the EGR valve doesnt clog, neither add any horsepower so really both trucks are equal with tuners and exhaust, the duramax just doesnt need headstuds and doesnt have an EGR valve to delete
+Jason Chavez Funny how the first thing that Chevy guys think of is always involved with homosexuality or dicks. I get it, we all have our opinions of competing brands. But maybe you ought to get some help. Always thinking like that
Well the facts are right infront of you for was lighter but it also had bigger tires meaning more friction and more traction so chevy is better even without a lift kit stock vs stock chevy would win.
I have a feeling you are directin that towards me, and for your info, I do own a diesel truck. Also, lifted trucks have an advantage as back ends of trucks are pretty light. Being lower to the ground makes it less likely to win, if I got get a slammed chevy 3500 and put it against a lifted chevy 3500, the lifted trucks gonna win.
it would be nice to see some vids with some weight in the back of these trucks to take the traction thing out of the picture, see whose engine bogs or drive train parts break ect, be more interesting to watch >.> plus it would remove half of the whining and complaining from the comments.
you can beat any truck if you let them start spinning the wheels first that's why tug of wars don't really show which truck can pull more
i wish people understood this... LOL its called Tractive effort... first one to spin looses.. has nothing to do with power...
+Ethan Williamson who ever gets traction first wins which is usually the heavier truck
Ethan Williamson, thank you for having common sense
fishanhunter this is perfect and the powerstroke is heavier than duramax thats why it won first cuz it caused more friction and gained tracktion faster so it pulled first then duramax did it the second and third

Glad the double wide wasn't destroyed.
38" tires vs stock tires
Crew cab v.s single cab (the 6.0 has less weight) plus the bigger the tire the harder it is to turn
On a diesel the 3% resistance to turn is nothing compared to the extra 40% traction
6.0 has mods making it basically equal weight
Some of these comments are amazing I can about imagine if the Chevy was a single cab and the Ford a crew cab every bow tie lover sister humper would say it's was unfair

explain on the third pull how the ford started pulling the chev and the chevy started spinning then still won
The rotational circumference makes a huge difference in torque.

Trey Morrison you guys are all blind the Ford was half the truck that Chevy was and was still pulling it backwards
DURAMAX FTW!!!
That moment when you realize the Ford is built and it still lost
Davy Jones power is nothing without traction. Duramax weighs more Bc it’s a 4 door. Powerstroke stayed out 2 times with tires spinning
Davy Jones that moment when you realize that you see a piece of shit Chevy
That moment when you realize the dumbass driving the ford kept breaking the tires loose instead of getting traction
That’s a 6.0 ford. If it was a 7.3 it def would’ve smoked it and the Chevy is 4 door it has weight advantage. Ford is the superior truck

Yes and traction has to do with the weight of the vehicle. Crew Cab vs. Single.

Lmao. This is awesome. The ford gave all it had and all the duramax did was tap the gas and pull the ford while the ford was burning himself out😂
Its not about who has more power its all about traction whoever starts spinning first will lose
Tires do matter. More surface area, less pressure per square unit. It's like a track on a sled, longer track more floatation. Lol mods have nothing to do with this. If the ford had a honda 5.5 it could still win if its geared.
Sam Busha it would win if it was a factory 4 door at stock hight just like the Chevy is then probably the ford would win
4 door heavy chevy vs 2 door singlecab ford. The ford still pulled him in the first pull tho😂
Looks like a gaser chevy to me the old 2007 models
so which is the best?
Tug of wars are just whoever presses the gas first
I don't know much about tug-a-war but is the heavier truck more likely to win?
No it's mainly about which truck has more tire traction for example I have a 1992 f150 and it beat a 2001 Chevy 1500 but his tires was a year old mine were 2 months
That ford had a lil traction advantage but not enough ass end to use it
The Chevy should have had the advantage, crew vs regular cab. Plus the Ford had wider tires, less weight per square inch.

Its all about weight n traction, tires are spinning so power has nothing to do with it...heavier wins everytime
what did ford say to GM? i dont re-call
it would be nice to see some vids with some weight in the back of these trucks to take the traction thing out of the picture, see whose engine bogs or drive train parts break ect, be more interesting to watch >.> plus it would remove half of the whining and complaining from the comments.
I swear I hear Darrel Knights in the background...
