  • Thanks for watching my video!
    I Can’t believe it has taken me this long to make my own Egg Powder! Up to now I’ve mostly just been making beef jerky in my dehydrator. I am quite pleased on how the whole egg Powder turned out. I definitely will be making my own from now on! I have yet to make a loaf of PSMF bread with my new egg powder but I will be sure to post when I do. I can’t wait! Let me know if you try this.

    Whip the whites til they just hold their form. If they're too stiff, you won't be able to spread them out as well. One tray will hold more whites this way, and they don't flake like the unwhipped. They powder so much better, too.

    That was a great idea putting that egg yolk powder back in the dehydrator, it was obvious when you blended it that it stuck at the top because there was still moisture in the egg yolk so great call in noticing that and solving the issue by drying out more!

    I make dehydrated egg white powder, egg yolk powder and whole egg powder. I've been doing that for quite a while. Love having them and since the eggs I get are so cheap it's a real win for me.

      @@ketocarnivoreishcrys3446 Any discount food store, even Aldi is a good place to buy eggs at discount when they have them on special.
      I often buy $7 pasture eggs for $2.50 at my local Sprouts grocery store. when they discount the eggs due to upcoming expiration date.
      I keep an eye on the specials and then buy up to (12) dozens.
      i noticed that the thinner I poor my egg white in my dehydrator & put it on maximum heat, the faster it dries . Which allows me to dry the egg white faster,. And get a very good quality powder faster as well as the dried egg pieces are very thin.
      I am now stocked-up for months doing the above.

    When I ordered whole egg powder on Amazon I ended up with the egg yolk powder by mistake. I figured I could just combine it with some of the egg white powder and have a DIY whole egg powder, but had no idea what ratio of yolk to white I might try. So your measuring the grams for each is very helpful, I will try combining in the ratios you got with dehydrating!

    With the high cost of eggs in stores right now, it seems that this process may be cost effective only if you have your own laying hens or if you can buy eggs cheaply from a farm.

    • @ketocarnivoreishcrys3446
      @ketocarnivoreishcrys3446  2 года назад +2

      Yes I know eggs are more costly right now. I think if you were doing this method for the egg white powder the liquid egg whites would be the way to go. Because I wanted this for the whole egg Powder it’s not too bad, if I did a dozen eggs it still a lot cheaper for me to do it this way then order whole egg Powder.☺️

    Yes it looks the same. Mine was fatty too. It worried me so I keep it in freezer because I don't use it up very fast. I get organic eggs for $1 a dozen. They are smaller so they don't go to store and are just sold cheaply. The larger ones are expensive and sold to stores. I grab 50 dozen at a time and family gets some and I dehydrate a lot. The egg white powder you buy is pasteurized. You can do that at home. Research how to do it. They aren't cooked just pasteurized.

      @@lynettedaniels6101 I tried it and it didn't work out so well. Bummer!!! The lowest my oven will go is 170 degrees. Crys here says you cannot go over 140 degrees without losing nutrition in the eggs, so I guess I lost nutrition using my oven. I do not have a dehydrator. The cost of egg whites now is exorbitant and I LOVE the bread and eat 1-2 slices each day. I cannot imagine going without it...I guess I won't be making it for anyone else buy myself after I run out of the 2-1/2 - 5 lb containers I have left still. They don't even make that size through Now any longer. I paid $42 for it back as late as January/February, and now that cost would be over $150.00! Ouch! I cannot afford that! I better start decreasing the amount of egg white powder I am using so I CAN afford to continue making it! I only use 100 g now, but if I could drop that by half, Indigo Nili has a video where she tells us how to do so, I am going to try a loaf like that. I already use 7-8 egg whites for my bread, I will increase the number of whites and drop the amount of powder I use doing it that way. It'll be trial and error at first, I hope more success than failure! It's SO expensive!

      If it is beef liver you can heat it (google time to make sure you kill anything bad in the oven) so heat it temporarily and then put in dehydrator trays (thin small) and then put in processor to grind. I would imagine that would work fine. I’ve never done it but I have made chicken liver treats for my dogs. I always just cook my livers and eat them but I know some people aren’t a big fan. I wouldn’t undercook chicken livers at all. I’m not a big fan of beef liver so I may even try powdering it to add into some recipes
