- Egg white powder can be easily made at home by dehydrating and Whites,
Just do not cook them - dehydrate!
do it at a very low temperature 140-170f
This can be used in many recipes for the carnivore diet, which I will be sharing in other videos, so stay tuned for more .

This is amazing. And after watching it, I made my first purchase of egg white powder. 😂
thank you so much , we have a family of 8 on carnivore and the egg white powder is just as much as our summer and winter electric bills
You are so welcome!
Nice ! You can use a dehydrator too. I have that function on my air fryer.
Tell me more I would try that
I had no idea that it was this easy. Thank you for doing this video.
It was a test for me and it worked well so I’m glad I’m able to share
*THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!*
I too, refused to pay that much for egg white powder - but sometimes I just want to eat a sandwich!!
This is life game changing. Thank you
This is fantastic
I love this idea 💡 honestly you are great 👍 thank you for sharing ❤
You go girl, that is amazing!
Thank you
Baking Bad! 🧪 🧑🔬
I LOVE IT THANK YOU!
Nice 👍
THANK YOU!!!
Contrary to Star Trek' s Spock when he said it's not logical, Jim! Your logic was spot on right. Thank you so much for this video. We get our milk from the Amish and we have 8 chicks. Being
on the Carnivore diet I found a recipe for pancakes and syrup that is made with egg powder, I had never heard of it, dummy me and I'm a young 77.
Your comment made me laugh out loud
wow this helped big time TY🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
So glad!
Hi There, i think this is a great idea! I too am keto/carnivore. I want to try this because you are correct on egg white powder being ridiculous. My question is approximately how long did you keep them in the oven before they dried out?
Every oven is different, electric will dry faster as a dry heat mine is propane so its a moist heat .. i did about 2-3 hrs but i don’t recommend 2 trays at same time best to have air around one pan
I am going to do more test to see what ends up working best
Its eggs season so lots to work with
I went to Healthy Planet a couple of months ago to price egg white powder. Over $70!!! Good grief! I nearly fainted!
I need the egg white powder for psmf bread and carnivore breads. I mean, golly, i don't have my own eggs, but there's got to be a way of producing the egg white powder that is less expensive.
how long does it stay good?
Get yourself a coffee bean/spice grinder, they’re super powerful but only a bit.
I have my vitamix dry container just didn’t want to pull it out for a small amount
I am now doing larger quantities after initial trial and all good
Thx for the input
Did not take very long does not give us the approximate time
I find any heat I use to dry the meringue causes it to melt back to liquid even a food dehydrator
First whip to a hard peak!
If you notice beads of liquid condensation forming on the surface of the meringue while it bakes, that's a sign that your oven temperature is too low. The solution: crank up the heat and shorten the cooking time.
All ovens are different so trial and error
@@HomesteadOntario Thanks, Saw no beads. Do you have a oven temperature to set it to. I can alway set my oven with a thermometer.I was worried about browning it like your first attempt. I would like to get the separate whites to work because a quart is only eight bucks.
Fantastic! How long did you keep it in the oven approximately?
I did 6 hrs at 260
But really keep checking because it depends on thickness
@@HomesteadOntario Thank you! 260F seems too high compared to she talked about (140-170F)
By pre-whipping, my question is when you’re using it in a recipe that is going to need to form stiff peaks, I’m wondering if that’s still going to happen. What was your result in using this in those types of recipes?
I haven’t tried that - only doing this for carnivore breads
I always have lots of eggs so always have fresh
Update results please in a bread recipe
I tried Chris Nashville recipe for hamburger buns and liked them
Actually plan to do my own video
Check him out he has a lot of baking using the egg white powder

so can you mix this with milk to make almost like a protein shake or does it need cooked once it’s rehydrated ?
I would think so, does not need cooking
I only use it for carnivore baking
So I don’t us know
if you do it and how it worked
@@HomesteadOntario well i’m thinking since it’s baked in the oven it’s probably baked through enough? and i’m assuming it’s the same concept even if you add the egg yolks with it to make a “egg powder”. i’ll have to try it!
Was looking for homemade egg white powder because meringue powder for baking is so expensive!
Let us know if it works for that application
I use it for my carnivore baking

Hello :) Do you think this would work using carton egg whites? Eggs are very expensive here :( but the carton ones are more affordable to me :D
From other comments here
No it does not work
Carton eggs more affordable because they are pasteurized and over processed
Stick to food that is least handled
I wonder if I can use this as a protein powder because whey protein is quite expensive.
Others have commented same
Not sure but worth a try
So what are you making with this? I haven't seen you use it for anything you've posted on youtube.
Baking carnivore bread substitutes
Sorry spring is busy on homestead but I promise will be doing it .
Has anybody else got this to dry with heat. I just get liquid forming on the parchment paper.
Too thick? Or not whipped enough
How long did it stay in the oven?
Will depend on the thickness of your egg whites example 1cm will dry faster than 2 cm thickness
How long in oven at 170*?
It depends on how thick you spread it
Really need to check every 30 min
Mine took 4 hrs then I left in oven over night to sit
So is "egg white powder" the same as " egg white protein powder "?
yes
Sometimes egg white protein powder has additives
Egg white powder is pure egg whites
Iherb 10 lbs x2=$305.00
Yes $$$$
For how many days can it be stored at a time?
Once dehydrated it is shelf stable keep in dry dark place
@@HomesteadOntario thanks a tonne❤
Can this be done with whole egg
You can absolutely try it. I haven’t tried it myself because I was just trying to come up with egg white powder for carnivore baking but if you do try whole egg, let us know how it works. We’re all here to share.
I whipped for a long time and it still melts. I am using just pure egg in a container but it should still work. I am beginning to think it’s a scam.
Not a scam i have nothing to gain. Are you using egg whites or whole egg? Should be whites only
Same process as making meringue
I used a stand mixer on high for maybe 10 minutes. And I used pure egg white from a carton. It was just like meringue. And thick enough to stand up at the sides of the bowl. I would say thicker then normal meringue. Looked like styrofoamI set my oven on the lowest setting and put it on parchment paper on a baking sheet. My first try the paper was covered with liquid. Second try I turned my oven off so not as hot. Still liquid. Then I set on low convection with air blowing over. Next I tried my dehydrator on low. All with the same results. I let it dry on the racks themselves over night. From one quart of egg white I ended with maybe two tablespoons of powder. All I can see is the pure egg. White isn’t pure egg white. Can you do it with the carton of egg white?
Eggs from a carton are pasteurized, so I assume thats the problem I only use fresh eggs.
@@HomesteadOntario I think your right. They are. Too bad the powder is so expensive. Thanks for your help.
