Welcome back my friend and as always beautiful sharing adventure documentary updated resume countryside content video and there you go again .. gorgeous filming edition captured camera work ! .. appreciate your efforts and hard work for sharing your beautiful sharing lifestyle documentary adventure countryside and millions thanks again and have a wonderful blessed weekend ! ..
Great video Sean , it’s great that you keep referring to the Irish context and highlighting the differences to other parts of the world. The Irish climate is quite a bit different to our friends with more large landmass continental climates. 👍🏻
Thank you k . Definitely a big difference here in Ireland and from year to year which is another reason I get a bit muddled with my plans from time to time.
The galloway calves are really strong and broad. Confusion +++ with you thinking out loud , you can update on those thoughts on next video😊. I love the pony names . Thanks for your thoughtful update
I don’t see any harm in the pony’s following but I do think the may be a danger that short grass will will take longer to recover if left too long. As long as they aren’t getting too fat in which case you could maybe tighten the backing fence rather than leaving them longer and needing more fences? It seems that trying to clean up in the traditional sense might be harking after those nice clean fields but then your system has its own benefits with great soil structure etc that’s allowing you to out winter etc. A days grazing behind doesn’t look to be causing any harm and must be freeing up another field that’s hopefully growing grass! Hopefully just free grazing 🤞🏻
Out helping antique truck club get ready for our only show of the year so watching late but it was for a good cause. The club is taking the money from the show and doing two diesel mechanic scholarships at a land grant college.
Good man john sorry for late reply. We were delivering beef box this last while. It looks very good .very happy with it. You sound like a great neighbour to have fair play to you . Have a great day my friend
Some times it good to talk out loud to try and make sense of it in your head, with the heat and showers we have at the minute u will b fine for this month.
Well Mr onion sorry for late reply. We got our beef back .very happy with it. All boxes gone out to happy customers. Weather is just perfect. After 2023 I feel bomb proof🙌
@seanofalluinregenerativefa4569 well hope it's they start off something big,ur own natural product that u haven't got from selling at mart, hopefully ur hard work & struggle will soon pay off,
Another great video Sean. Beltie Mórs calf is a real nice looking beast so are all the ruby calf’s. Will you be finishing the 2 yearling bullocks next year or what’s the plan for them and the bull will he stay for the winter
Sounds like you need to test a plot or three with some different treatment. I'd give one plot less of a cow and horse graze and keep them moving and one where you give the ponies a larger spot to not graze down tight and mark both down so you can check the regrowth/recovery.
Well Lee thank you definitely something we could do. I'm excited about the introduction of different and new impacts. I may soon consider sheep. If I could get them to behave. That's my only concern
@seanofalluinregenerativefa4569 Dont do it! Sheep will drive you mad Sean! You'll never keep them in without a lot more fencing. I lived among sheep down in kerry & they've a genius for escape... And there's no personality to them. keep with your cattle... They're good for the soul and the soil.
It wouldn't do the ground and grass any harm to leave a bit there and keeping the ponies up behind the cattle as planned - it can change any time and we're just likely to get a couple weeks of this weather before the grass cuts out. Stick to the plan there.
Very good thank you. So I've thought about it further and I'm going to move the ponies daily. Given the excitement we had getting them across open land plus my concerns with over grazing 🤞
The worst case scenario is feeding hay or silsge is what 99% of Irish beef farmers for 5-6minths So if you can stay out grazing for the majority of the year and get closer to a grass only winter 👍
Now you have it Luke . I also forgot to take into account the land the ponies are skipping on the rotation. I think things are looking for better this autumn to weather wise than previous years. 🤞

Thank you my friend 🙌
Sounds like you convinced yourself your doing the right thing 😂
Hahaha now you have it 🤣

Thank you Marie. There us one belted calf. Red clares i love her . A really hardy look😀
Your experimenting Sean, time will tell, but your provably right about regrowth.
Well colman. Yes it's a chancey time of year to be taking it down to close.
@@seanofalluinregenerativefa4569 you don't want to be buying in extra bales esp in an Irish spring.

I'd say keep them right behind cattle. If they leave half behind it'll be there for next time anyway

Sounds like you are considering options to make the best decisions. Every year is different so it's just what must be done
Just keep them right behind the cattle!
Agreed. I should forget about any notable impacts by them until winters out
