I am wondering when you will be weaning the foal and also what will you do with the foal after you wean. I mean what will you feed her and will you be housing her for the winter.
Another beautiful upload and share ! .. and as always a beautiful adventure documentary countryside content video and gorgeous settings presentation camera work ! .. TQ ..
The ponies and cattle are looking go hiontach, a Sheáinín. Although nobody loves the winter, I do love to see a lovely clean long coat on an outwintered beast. It looks so natural and healthy.
Hi Sean, your cattle and ponies are looking good. Hopefully you will have a mild winter that will be easy on man and beast. I know very little about horses, but when I was a young fella my father had a mare, she was out of a Clydesdale mother crossed with an Irish draft stallion. She had a lovely gentle nature. Her name was! You guessed it "Molly".
My friend Walt had Morgan horses and had a terrible time and lost one to laminitis,do everything you can to avoid it! Your herd is looking great I’d be proud to own them.
The cattle are lookin very well and so contented, The regen system is working out well.Mother Galloway is your ideal regen Cow.She produces real good calves.
Well colman yes I think she crosses very well with the shorthorn very happy with her calf this year. . You remember our litter black cow? I was to sell her but she has the best bull calf yet. Very difficult to let them go
Have you got slatted shed for cattle Sean did you used to put cattle in for the winter and did you not use the topper at all this year you have good land the way u have so much grass and no fertilizer really enjoy your videos keep at it
Well Rodney I topped a couple of fields very early in the year and no more after that. I'll not bother at all need year. My new topper will be the ponies. Hopefully we'll see a difference. I did house yes . Maybe only leave out calves but I never moved them and had a big mess to clean in the spring time
Not out of the woods yet pj . She took a turn for the worse. I'm dressing her wound daily and she's finished her 3rd bottle of antibiotics. She's on hay and nuts here at home. She's up and moving everyday but carrying her leg all the time
@@seanofalluinregenerativefa4569 I hope she comes good for you and I know you'll look after her. Your best allrounder in my opinion and a beltie heifer out of her would be the icing on the cake. Did you ever find what caused the wound?
Ponies do a great job on rushes that have been topped and let grow for a month or two. They love the regrowth and really do a great job. That may not suit your system. Lovely animals.
Yes you are right . That would speed up things I think. I'm hoping I'll get so good clean ups over the winter. And some trample with the cattle. I find they use the mature rush as shelter on them windy nights
Great video. All looking well. That grass is very good after the grazing it got last year from the ponies. How is the cow that's rearing motherless may and her own calf holding up facing winter. ? Thank you
Hi Marie thank you she's looking good held up well. I'll keep a tight eye on her. I may take a few cows home for extra care if needed over the Christmas
👍
I am very thankful Sean that you are including the Ponies in all your videos and that you are sharing your knowledge about how to look after them.
Thank you Sean . I'm happy you are enjoying them. I'm excited to see how we fare out over ther winter.
