I have a 2002 ford e250 with 5.4 and all the parts stores keep saying it could be one of 3 they carry . How can I find out exactly which one it takes without dropping the tank to look
You prolly dont give a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the new movies on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my brother recently =)
Hi Rene, thank you for this video. I was told there is a anti-siphon valve in the gas filler hose on these models. Do you know where that exists. I cannot find any information on where it is. I have a 2013 E350 Super Duty 5.4L. Is it a ball valve in the hose itself? Appreciate any help.
Sorry for the delayed response. Been super busy at work. Yes there is an anti siphon valve on the tank itself inside the filler spout where the filler neck hose attaches, usually a ball type valve so that a hose won't pass thru.
Is this a simple disconnect and reconnect? I have a tank that leaks when I pump gas and I want to take the tank down and fix the hole. I just don't want to cause more problems when I do that.
@@rustyshackleford6253 Yes, the E150 is not very much different In design and varies by year. But in essence the E150 fuel tank hangs in the frame from the same type of hangers.
I have a 2000 E350 and it was 15mm. I had to buy replacement straps and the nuts on those were 17mm. I had to cut mine off. I don't live in the rust belt, but the nuts on mine weren't coming off. A ratcheting wrench works best.
Seems like a tough job especially doing it on your back - watched guys cut a hole in the floor above the pump and remove and install a new pump - it was a whole lot easier -
Man don’t be shy! Explain what you are doing!

Have them use the vin to do the parts search. Different pumps is due to tank variation between wheelbase lengths and engine sizes.

@Kyler Damien Yup, been using InstaFlixxer for months myself :D
That van looks brand new underneath. Must be California or Arizona.

Rene can you help me find the fuel vapor canister on a 2011 e250 , I looked above the spare thanks
Do you recall what size ratchet wrench that was? So far you needed a 10 mm and a flathead...

So it is the pump remember I said something why doesnt start right away it's like you have to pump couple times then start it
@@RicardoContreras-qs6dc I don't know if that's it. If I pump the gas slowly there is no leak and I was told during an oil change there were holes
I was gonna just cut an access hole in my floorboards, but maybe I'll try this
Dropping tank is not that difficult on these vans. Good luck on your repairs.
The holes been cut. Pump replaced.
@@rojobandito318 your gangsta bro. Most my customers wouldn't approve of that.
Haha my buddy was saying his Toyota comes with hole in floor from factory. That was all the inspiration I needed
Lol. Yes sir Toyota would have had whole pre-made. Sure makes it easy.
4 hours?
Uhh what about an E350? Just wondering.
Same thing
What other vehicles are compatable to this same gas tank that fit that same van?
How similar is this to a 1988 e150?
1988 is very similar. Possible a little less complicated due to the era.
@@ReneTheMechanic so i could use your videos as a guide to do this myself on my e150?

Hello Rene , What year is that van ? I have a 1997 econoline 250 .
Did you replace just the fuel level sending unit, or the entire pump? I have the exact same problem on a 2010 E-250
I replaced the complete module assembly. I used genuine Motorcraft Ford Replacement unit, is OEM and better quality for longer life.
What size rachet u used for the long stud bolts that holds the tank up the strap hanger bolts

Do you have part number
I'll look if I have it. I use Motorcraft fuel pump module assemblies on these. I'm working now but can check tonight.
I can do alot of things but im letting mechanic do that
