Im new to C4D, dont know how to create human body like that so I dont know where to start from :( Thanks a lot Evelyn keep up the great works
THANK YOU!!! I created it in Daz 3D. It's pretty simple. You can check it out. Later if you still have doubts on it, you can always ask me, and then I'll show you or make a tutorial on it xD
Hi.. evelyn.. I can't find "film width / film index".. They are not were supose to be.. Instead I have a thing "Film layer".. Do you know if "film layer" is a new option that replaces the ones you mention? or is it the opposite?, or are two different things..- Thank you, I know you are not obliged to answer my question, but if you do, I would greatly appreciate it
Hi Emmanuel. The Film Layer is basically the same thing. I guess you're using Octane 4, if so, you can set the IOR in Film Layer to 1 and go to Texture -> Cinema 4D -> Falloffmap (or other ones from which you can get different values). If you open up Node Editor, you can see the Falloffmap is plugged into Film Width, now you can change the values and you're good to go. The Film Index controls the Index of Refraction (IOR) of the thin film, and you can use it to adjust the colors visible in the film. Film Width controls the thickness of an optical thin film on the material, it's useful in creating iridescent materials. And if you're using Node Material in C4D, you can refer to the Colorful Glass Node Material Tutorial I did. Hope that's helpful to you. If you wanna talk about it, you can always DM me on Instagram :)
Hello Evelyn, thanks for this tutorial! :) But even if I followed your video I can't get the same result as you... can I have the file so that I can know the lightning you used? Thanks a lot!
A similar and simple way to do it is to use Thin Film Node and crank up the value of Thickness and IOR, let's say Thickness: 3600 & IOR: 4.6, and you'll get an iridescent material. You can also combine it with Color Correction to tweak the colors a bit more. If you wanna try something different (by using gradient), you can check out this video: ruclips.net/video/VuQBdDnAryU/видео.html&ab_channel=EvelynWu
Hi hiiii Evelynn, i have octane 3.07 R2 and i cant amek the gradient like you. when i will connect rgb spectrum to gradient, the three optionw inside gradient dissapear and only option i can see is input. Anyway i did the gradient manually and i had something like yours, but in the viewer is different. how can i send you my file?cheers!
Thanks Zane! You can try changing Glossy Material to Specular, and playing with the value of Roughness and Film Width to get a cool semi-transparent look ;)
@@Evelyn_CGI Wow thank you for the reply! You replied so fast that I am still working on that project haha :) . Yes, I found some nice results using the film width layer and also putting a gradient in the transmission channel.
Hey Evelyn, I'm so glad I found your channel! However I do not have octane. Is there still a way for me to create iridescent texture in C4D? Thank you so much
Thank YOU Joseph! You can try to create a State Node and plug it to ClearCoat Color of the Car Paint Shader. Set the weight in Base Layer Specular to 0 and in Clear Coat Reflection to 1, and change the BRDF to GGX. Now if you change the Facing Reflectivity under the Fresnel Control, you could already see a bit of iridescence on the material. The next step is to plug a Vector Change Range Node to the State Node and play with the parameters. Have fun with it!
@@Evelyn_CGI Do you use Redshift as well? Thank you for your explanation :) Even if I followed your solution, I couldn't get same result with what you made. But this will be good for making other. I appreciate your kindness :)
@@J3DMG No I don’t. Have you tried changing the values of Old Range Min in the Vector Change Range Node to -1, -1, -1? If not, give it a try, and change Facing Reflectivity in the Clear Coat Reflection to a higher value. After that, you can plug a Color Correct Shader to the output of the Vector Change Range, and output it to the Clear Coat Reflection/General - Clearcoat Color of the Car Paint Shader. If you start to change the value of Hue Shift in the Color Correct Shader, you’ll get a pretty decent result :) If not, please keep me updated and tell me what went wrong 😊
