I love this lil detail, when the flayed Billy invades El’s mind and he’s saying his lil monologue, near the end he says “We’re going to end you, and then your friends. And then we’re going to end... everyone” you can see a tear roll down his face, showing that the real Billy is still in there.
Some might’ve missed it, it might’ve been completely obvious but I just really like that detail
and in an interview dacre montgomery, who plays billy, said that while his entire physicality was meant to embody the mind flayer, he wanted to convey the real billy through his eyes

I doubt Hopper is dead anyone else who was killed in the same way at the start of season one had their remains still on the ground. Plus in the final shot they show before Joyce shots off the machine Hopper is no longer standing on that platform. There was a ladder to the side he was stuck on so he could have went down that. Plus the actor that plays him when asked never confirmed he was dead. My guess is he actually is now either stuck on the other side of the upside down or is the American prisoner in Russia.
@@wisewolftony I'm pretty sure he's in the other side (IF he's alive) He is not the prisoner at the Russian base, that's most likely Dr. Brenner, the Russians wouldn't know of the Other side without him. Season 4 is probably a save Hopper season.

R B i do want it to be hopper and there's a strong possibility it is, but some people have speculated it could also be brenner (aka papa from season one.) it would make sense since he's hinted at being alive, and they could be taking information from him to do what they're doing in their own lab 🤷🏻♀️

@Malum I would argue that he didn't actually kill her with his bare hands. He mostly stood back and watched helplessly as the mindflayer did it's thing, but I get it. The duffers would have to write a seriously guilt ridden Billy in season four, tormented by his actions even if he didn't too the actual killings. He was a vessel for some evil shit and so if he had lived then his character would had enough angst to power a CW show so maybe he's probably better off dead.

@@whodatninja439 There's already more characters than the plot needs. And when anyone can defeat the baddies with really powerful superpowers instead of their own initiative, it makes it very boring. That's what happened at the end of the last 2 seasons. Eleven used her powers more then ever before, screamed loudly and saved the day. I mean, I like Superhero movies, but I think Stranger Things works best the more it steers clear of that.

Billy was the most underutilized character in this show. To me he was the most interesting one, especially after he finds out about the upside down but when you think about it, he was only in one episode of this season. After episode 1, everything w/ him in it was just the Mind Flayer.
Technically the mind flayer was dormant most of the time.
