Gents good conversion, topic and questions. Two things to consider is 1- take time to scout and learn the area if practical. 2- cast-netting pilchards at night off reef patches 50’ or so is another way to catch and the big ones. I grew up in the keys around this type of environment my whole life I am 53 now, can tel you it’s an effective way as well! Tight lines.

I'm going to Islamorada on June. Patch reef and surround area. Any suggestions?

Great video! Just have to add that we often catch bait for freshwater fishing. In minnesota, we can use cast nets for shad on rivers while sturgeon fishing, or use live bullheads for catfish, or in wisconsin we use bluegills for pike and musky. I just wish we could follow the birds like in florida

The difference between freshwater and saltwater live-bait fishing is like, going to old folks' home VS going to Miami Spring Break - the action is much more lively and could definitely get out WAY out of control.
