I totally agree, in my opinion there is nothing better than pilchards. I fished Key west area about three times and nothing worked better than the pilchards. Thank you for the nice video.

@@watchyourlip3209 Yes. I am finally starting to catch Jack Cravalle and whiting after years of trying for anything. Salt water fly fishing is my preferred method, but now Donna wants me to bring something home to eat. So I surf cast with braided line and two hooks with sand flea fish bites. I'm am a night person, so it is exciting to hear that you go out then rather then at 5am.

I just moved to south Florida and I was wondering what's a good beach to fish in Miami, any recommendations are very appreciated.
    Thanks!!

Cool! Welcome to SoFlo! To be honest with you I’m not familiar with much in the Miami Dade County area. I typically fish either Palm Beach or Broward County. But if you come up to pompano beach or Fort Lauderdale beach, especially during the summertime when the beach schools are available, any beach holds fish when there are bait present. Thanks so much for watching our channel.

For the most part yes but the US is a broad term. Look up the rules for the state you plan on cause freshwater is very different and more restrictive.

I am tired of spending money buying bait every single day . I waited 56 years to learn how to throw a cast net. Now I have to find bait from my boat in the middle of the night. Please, help me. Kery Biscayne area.

    • @watchyourlip3209

I love the heart! I’m not super familiar with that area down there but I can tell you that finding Pilchard schools takes a little getting used to. They tend to like channels with lots of current. A lot of times they will hang out in your bridges or over small reefs. You can also check beach areas in Biscayne bay. Many times the bay schools will hug the shorelines to escape predators. A good depth finder with fish finding capabilities will do you very well. When you are over a beach school, you will see a big black cloud on your fishfinder. That’s when you throw. Or you can go out at night and anchor and throw a chum bag out, anywhere in the bay, use a sabiki rig and you will be able to catch them left and right. It will take a little getting used to, but you’ll find them.

How ya doing with the bait situation? A for sure spot is next to the port between fisher island and the river. Bridges also hold tons of pilchards and threads. 🫡💪🏼
