Hey Josh.. Never tried chumming for bait, looks real good.. Thanks for sharing with us and hope the family is well.. Always your friend, fan, and subscriber .
*So then Josh... the Days of Yore when we went to get Winn-Dixie Quick Check's Brands of oat meal, masa and canned menhaden & mackerel with some cod liver oil plus any pounded out to mush of the last caught frozen fish carcass's for cheap homemade bait chum are gone I guess...🤔Anywho... a Great Tutorial* Thanx ..gw
Have you ever tried to learn how to cast net with out using your mouth ( clean casting ) not having to use a shoulder or mouth , I’m still trying to learn , even at the pier with the twirl and drop technique it doesn’t spin open fast enough to open up , - have you ever made chum balls out of dollar store cornmeal , the canned mackerel , and sand , mix it into pool table size balls freeze em in a plastic bag and take with in the cooler , as the dissolve slowly and the bait stays in the area longer , you can make the same bait balls using cut bait for snapper 👈🏽 plus your hand toss cut bait , ( now the question ! Do square laundry baskets work better than round !) 🤔🤪
So if you do a catch and cook you make a batter. If you do a catch bait & chum you make a batter. Just get the recipes mixed up. lol Be Well and God Bless my friends. ☝
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Is there a difference casting for bait in deeper water by a bridge? Different net weight? Size? Great video! Sub here. Keep them coming. Can do a video read the fish finder screen to locate spots in the bays?
@@Saltyscales thank you Josh. Sounds like a trip to Walmart. Don’t want to lose an expensive net and want to get used to it. I would think casting in a slack tide would be easier? Will bait come up in slack tide?
Gotta get bait to catch fish! Simple, easy, tutorial… thanks Capt!
*True That* ..gw
Thanks for filming 👊

Thanks for watching Rick
Very cool thumbnail, it seems hard to catch bait when out on the boat, thanks for all the great tips!
It doesn't have to be, thanks for watching.
Great video Joshua!!!!! Nice
Real fishermen give me the happiness
Nice video. Thank you
Great info captain 👍🏾
Glad it was helpful!
Nice bro!

Old school canned mack still works, just a little more difficult. Thanks for watching!
@@Saltyscales *I Guess so Josh.. We used to mix all the ingredients and press them into soup and tomato cans and freeze them too* gw
Nice
Canned jack mackerel is excellent chum.
💕 Wow💚💚💚💚💙💚💙
Great tutorial. I'm still trying to get that castnet throw right. Does the chum draw menhaden as well?
the chum has a little menhaden adding the oil makes them go crazy.
Any Purina dealer can order a bag for you tell them it's tropical fish food. It's listed on there product availability form from Purina.
Been looking at the Purina fish food , they have several, could you please narrow it down. Thank You
One and done is always a good feeling, do you get a lot of hangers with that 1/4" mesh ?
Not when the bait is running on the larger side.
@@Saltyscales I’m just wondering if investing in another net is worth it l have a 3/8” at the moment
Great video! Thanks for the tip. Is that Purina Catfish Chow? That's the only bag I found online that looks like the one you have
Yes, but what is at night?
holy motha!!!!
Got sum??? You have got to be kidding me. That was heaps! Right, that's it, I'm buying a cast net!
💪
Was that a wiffle ball bat in the live well?
Kind of, chum bat

I can cast both ways, I find that I get more distance with my current technique. The spin method works great from high obstacles.

Have to batter it up Dino, you know!
Do you have a product number on the fish food?
Purina Tropical Fish
No but if you call them they will know exactly what you need.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Absolutely, for small baits shallow a 1/4" 10 foot net works great. 1.5lbs per foot. I like a 10 foot 3/8 in deeper water. Same weight.

What size mesh do you like to use?
Never mind you just told me
I have literally hand lined tons of pinfish in with paper dipped in manhaden oil on an open clip swivel.
Fool em don’t feed them.
First..lol
