    Being a first responder I've been diagnosed with PTSD and depression. I lost my wife to suicide 4 years ago, followed by some other tragedies that occurred in my family I was living some dark days! I have taken antidepressants those things have never helped. I spent 43 days at an inpatient facility in Maryland for First Responders came home fell right back into the same old habits. Year after I came home from Maryland still on the job I found out about spervato. As I am typing this I have had three treatments. The day after my first treatment a considerable noticeable difference in my depression it was all but gone! This ketamine treatment saved my life. I haven't been this happy for years I actually feel a sense of hope and I'm looking forward to living the rest of my life.

    I'm having my first treatment tomorrow, and I'm so nervous. I have tried psychedelics before, and I had a very bad experience with shrooms. Weed makes my anxiety and guilt and depression worse. I'm just really hoping that this helps. 20 years of psychotropics that have done absolutely nothing, and I'm so tired of feeling like it's never going to get any better. I'm so glad that this helps. fingers crossed it helps me too

    Glad to hear that you're doing a lot better with ketamine. My daughter has had two ketamine infusion and it has done wonders to her literally after her first infusion. She had rediscovered the beauties of life while we were at the beach and how it's like to not constantly have your mind filled with thoughts of suicide and depression. As for her experience during the treatment, she didn't get any "enlightment" or "soulful" journey. She saw cute kitties, stick people, a dinosaur, a "secret" portal, and her fingers were fighting each other.

    • @ellagnoix2276

      @@namanrawal5849 Yes, we decided to go with the IV method. The doctor's office offers ketamine treatment with an injection or through an IV infusion. Her doctor recommended the IV infusion as it gets into her body faster, which was the best decision because her mental health was in a very bad state. I feel like I've finally got my daughter back and don't regret the expensive cost of the treatment, as it's not covered by insurance.

    I just started my first session. I did not become nauseas or have a headache or hallucinate. I thought it was similar to taking nitrous oxide like from the dentist. The feeling was so similar that I Googled it and found out BOTH actually affect the Hippocampus in SIMILAR ways. Talk about being in tune, my association was spot on. I did not have an epiphany in the first session though and I see many people need at least 4 weeks. I just listened to music and watched RUclips videos in the dark. I even texted my wife to tell her I love her and shared a couple of videos I was watching. I believe many people who give up and claim it does not work decide too early based off of not being able to tolerate the 'high'. My depression is illness based: LUPUS, HEART DISEASE AND ATTACK, KIDNEY TRANSPLANT, STROKES, being on all sorts of MEDS..I am really hoping this works and will share more once I gain more experience

    Thanks for your story. We're considering this for my wife, regardless of cost. It's the same old thing, this/that antidepressant for 1-2 years, that all stop working - ten that I can recall. Psychs just write a script for the newest drug. 30 years of this is too much. She deserves to enjoy life - and our life together.

    I live in AZ. My health insurance will be paying for my treatment. I went in for a consultation monday and i am a great candidate to try Spravato. My PCP stated the nasal spray is $2000. I must stay after the treatment for 2 hours. Not allowed to drive ( of course not). Im sick and tired of being sick and tired. I hope that this treatment will get rid of the “ dread” i wake up with every morning in my stomach, chest and throat. TY for your vid. I have a hard time relaxing- so i hope i won’t freak out. Ive been having Spravato treatments 2x a week for 3 weeks now. I have nearly no side effects and i see myself having less negative thoughts on treatment days and my depression lifts on these days and the following day also. I have also had more motivation to do things i used to have a hard time doing. Spravato is not as strong as Ketamine infusion therapy which is by IV but Spravato is completely covered for me! Spravato or Jannsen also gives you a Care Navigator which helps guide you through a journal that goes with the program. It's also great to have a therapist work with you during this time.
    GOOD LUCK TO ALL! THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO!

    • @Nyte_Kitty
      @Nyte_Kitty Год назад

      You might try having a consultation with a provider that offers ketamine treatments, and see if they have a financial hardship application or payment plan option. By law, you will only be obligated to pay for the treatments you receive, so if you don't improve within the timeline that you decide, you can discontinue treatment without any additional cost. Considering the position you're in, when you talk about leaving this world, it might be worth at least taking the next step and connecting with a provider. I know it's easy to approach this or any situation with a worst case scenario. I hope you find something that works for you.

Spoke with my doctor about esketamine and I might have it prescribed soon. My question is, my depression worsens with external stimuli, like when something triggers my insecurities to come up, is esketamine still helpful by its own? Should I use it to facilitate psychotherapy? I’m just afraid that I’m gonna use it and then later any stimulus will get me back to square zero.

    • @KLee1028
      @KLee1028 Год назад

      It’s not indicated for PTSD, so I doubt you would get referred to the program for that. Also, if you haven’t been on (and failed) multiple medications in the past you wouldn’t be considered a candidate because you wouldn’t meet criteria for treatment resistant depression. Also interesting that you’re afraid to take medications - this is a medication. Not only that, it’s a very NEW medication that can cause serious side effects. So in terms of “panicking” about taking meds, I would think starting off with some Prozac or something would make more sense.

      Hi @Evan . I've been displaced due to Hurricane Michael for three and a half years. Where I live right now is a high-rise that is very old with a very old air conditioning system. There has been reports of mold in this building in the vents etc. Since I've been here my Wellbutrin has lost its effectiveness and I've been on every medication that could possibly help a typical depression. My psychiatrist said ketamine fusions may help but it's very expensive. However how do you test for mycotoxins in the air. For the last year I have been in bed. In other words I couldn't pull myself out of bed except to take my little dog out. I had to take a leave of absence. I wonder how much of this depression is due to mycotoxins. It appears that when I'm in this very small apartment, I get worse. I noticed that on my days off I would spend the whole day in bed and it continually got worse. The only thing that would help pull me out of bed were my pain medications but not always. I'm wondering how much of this is due to the toxins in the air. How do I get them to test for the toxins? I think they've done this before but I think they were just testing for mold

    My psychiatrist said he really want to try this on me. But, because I'm on medicare and medicaid, it won't cover the price? Idk. I DO know I'm really at the end of my rope here. On top of my normal extreme depression, on Feb 27, 2021,a little less than 4 months ago, I woke up to find my best friend, of 26 years (although "best" doesn't truly express the gravity of it) face down on my living room floor, dead. She had had a heart attack due to diabetic issues. I already have PTSD, this event has solidified this diagnosis, in my mind. I tried to save her, but she had evidently passed long before I began performing CPR on her. I saw her everyday. She named her youngest child after me. She was 38, and left behind a 19 just turned 20 y/o a 10 y/o & a 6 y/o. On top of my own "selfish" grief, that knocks down the rest of anything I was. The fact she is no longer here, has left such an emptiness, I cannot fathom. If there is any info about possibly having my insurance pay for my treatments, or anything places doing test trials? Anything. I was at this point BEFORE her death. Afterwards, it feels like Dorothy, coming back to Kansas,after being in the Technicolor land of OZ. The color has drained out of the world, and it's all just this sepia dust bowl world. From A to Z. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would seriously be so appreciative. I'm in the central Ohio, Columbus area, here. Thank you for this video.

    Hi Jesse, how long does the treatment go on for?

    • @JesseWeigel
      @JesseWeigel  3 года назад +1

      It goes on for almost a year. 2 weeks of twice a week treatment. 4 weeks once a week. Then 4 treatments of every other week. 4 of every three weeks, 4 of once a months. Then just as needed. I am almost to the every 3 weeks portion of the treatment. You do have the option to stop treatment at any time as well.

    I’ve just recently discovered ketamine treatment near me, and it’s like my last hope. Unfortunately I don’t think I can afford it. But I’ve been on SSRIs for 20 years. And tried many other mental health meds.

    • @JesseWeigel
      @JesseWeigel  Год назад +1

      I have heard that the intravenous version of the ketamine therapy is less expensive. I am no longer depressed, but if I ever need it again, I would go with that option.

    Will you tell me where to start? It's so confusing for me. I am also in PA. Please lmk the steps. Ty

    • @JesseWeigel
      @JesseWeigel  Год назад

      The first step would be to talk to your psychiatrist about it. They may be able to help. If not, you can look up doctors or clinics providing ketamine treatment on your own and call or email them to find out what there procedure is for new patients.

      I don't know about those in particular, but I continued taking Cymbalta during the treatment.

      Much better. I have continued to research and am using health trackers to figure out why I had depression and how to keep it away forever. I am currently working with my hormones and have found that they have an enormous impact on my anxiety and overall mood.

      I was prescribed medical marijuana for PTSD and Anxiety. It does help, but also can make me tired and less able to focus. Overall though, I am very impressed with it's mental health benefits, especially when used in reasonable doses.
