  • Hi! I have treatment resistant depression. In the past, I have had success with TMS, but this time around I tried Esketamine instead. It went great!
    My only side effect was that after treatment and the following day, I'd be especially tired, but still a functioning person nonetheless.

    I feel a need to mention- I'm NOT MAKING MONEY ON ANY OF THESE VIDEOS and no one asked me to make them. I know the videos show ads, but I don't have control over that. The reason I made these videos is because it's the kind of information I would have found helpful while I was looking for treatment. I'm just trying to be helpful.
    Sorry I'm not a real youtuber. I simply don't have time to produce a high quality video. I'm 40 years old. Forgive me.

      Did they talk to you about music? I had to develop a playlist of lyric-less music that made me feel good. I had songs from Brian Wilson At My Piano, The Hipster Orchestra, and Vitamin String Quartet. I always took a pillow and blanket with me for comfort. Think of the sessions as a time to relax and do nothing. Come back and tell me how it's going! Good luck!

    Kristin, I just came upon your channel while "researching" TMS. I'm a dad to a 31 y/o daughter that's been in the throes of TRD. Yesterday she finished an accelerated course of a week of TMS & Ketamine. She had been doing Ketamine infusions alone for several months but found the effects to be waning quickly so her psychiatrist suggested TMS+K as her next step.
    I so very much appreciate your videos and that you are volunteering your time and documenting your experiences.
    In my journey of learning about TMS I came upon your channel, have watched several and felt compelled to pause on this video and post a comment directly to you.
    I hope and pray for your well being. Through your own trials you help bring light into this world, to those of us fortunate enough to "find" you. For that I am grateful to you and for you. Please continue and know you are helping others, even someone like me that loves someone else dealing with depression and anxiety. Thank you very very much! God bless you Kristin.

Im very happy this new treatment has helped you find some peace and would be willing to try it myself, i just wonder as a fellow sufferer of major depression and some paranoid thinking, is there anything to fear with this treatment making anxiety worse? Take care and i hope you’re still doing well.

      This treatment is not for anxiety and whether it could make anxiety worse, I'm not sure. It doesn't hurt to ask a doctor. In my state, one can get psilocybin treatment now which I'm not going to do since insurance doesn't cover it (yet) but perhaps you could look into that as well! Don't give up!

    Thank you for your personal story with Spravato. I am currently ending my 4th week (treatment #8) and still feel a bit lost on the timeline, experience, and expectations. While with any type of mental health treatment mileage may vary, but what you had to say about your experience is lining up exactly with how I feel. I have yet to see major improvements myself, but my wife has noticed changes in my interactions with my 9 year old son. She said I am not so up tight, more jovial and playful. Odd that she can see what I cannot. Videos like yours help to keep up the positive motivation to continue treatment as I am not done yet, there is certainly more to be had! I am glad you mentioned the euphoria experience and that it is not an indication if the treatment is working or not. I was sky-high on treatment 1 and 2, but now it is more like a relaxation than a "trip" and I was worried that it could be losing it's effectiveness. Thanks again for your story. Best of luck!

    • @HookerTheWriter
      @HookerTheWriter  3 месяца назад +1

      Spravato has a less intense demand on your time and is more pleasant. It was four weeks twice a week followed by four weeks once a week. With TMS I did 8 weeks five times a week. The actual spravato sessions were longer (2 hours) but I preferred going fewer times for longer sessions. I took a pillow and blanket and just relaxed the whole time. I still think TMS is great, but I'm glad I tried Spravato and I prefer Spravato now.

      With all "due" respect I found your comment very dogmatic indeed. 1st off depression and anxiety effect different people in different ways and at different intensity. 2nd off a treatment that works for someone may not work for another. You never bothered to mention what type of depression/anxiety you have if any. You've most likely read "The power of now" and think that you are privy to all the answers in life, where in all likelihood, you're not.
