Why did you choose occult over blood affinity? Is it because of the C scaling in arcane?
I mained the longsword in MHW for 300 hrs. Noticed the similar moveset immediately.

They're like a cross between a greatsword and a rapier. Very stylish.
Milady is very cool with a nice moveset. I imagine it will be even better when I get the Wing Stance Ash for it (the one we’ve seen demonstrated) as the weapon comes with impaling thrust out of the box.
Ok. I have the Wing Stance skill now and what can I say … it’s incredible. So much fun and really makes the build. Great with the charge stance talisman too.

This looks awesome! I picked up the second great katana that was easy to get. The dragon wound one. I am now power stancing the two and it feels incredible. It feels like its the katana power stance moveset with a whole lot more oomph to it. I'm running braggarts roar on it for the damage boost and running the roar medallion with Millicents prosthetic and winged sword for the power stance moveset.
Man u made me Nagakiba + Unsheathe lover. No any other Katanas feel better than that style of play. I just dodge dodge and then one hit (never greedy). No matter how long it takes to kill boss (i got the patience now). No other katanas impresses me anymore. 😅
Excited to hear there are new Dragon spells. Arcane Blood Dragon Samurai is basically my main setup.
Have an incantation showcase ready to go, just waiting a bit so I don't spam everyone
i literally loaded up my main save file and not sure what NG+ i’m on but i was running a full on dragon build with the armor and dual communion seals plus the dragon first weapons as secondary 😂

Thanks Fextra! I've been trying this out and the build is awesome! One thing I did change is the ash of war to sword dance and MY GOSH does it fk sh up! It can stagger enemies pretty easily and I also have RoB as a backup

Gotta love that default Ash of War of that Great Katana. Instead of Ichimonji Double, it's Ichimonji TRIPLE!!!
I tried the double slash art of war and it works really well with the double katana due it's long reach.
I put that flame thrust ash of war from the invader in the church. Have quality build with faith. I absolutely love it.

If you choose the keen affinity you can stack on bloodflame blade to make up for some of the blood loss
Now I kinda want to see a stance focus build using Rellana's Cameo
My current build I took into the DLC is DEX/ARC. I picked up this and backhand blade, put the blood infusion on them to not lose dex scaling. Both are really good for bleed. The Great Katana at +24 has blood buildup (129)
I love how it is an exact copy of the Monster Hunter Katana (Longsword)
Watching you fight that spirit.. I’m struggling on that fight hard lol.
Something I found interesting was that great katana benefits twice from talismans like red and blue assassins dagger, in the same way that colossal weapons do for some reason. Could be worth building around maximum stance damage
Did you know with the great katana, if you backstep and continue holding the backstep button then do a charged heavy attack or light attack, you get different animations

Yeah I was dual uchigatana with veterans armour and white mask. Did you switch to oathseeker set? I just got it but don't understand how it's "better" than veterans
@@RossMcDougall I was using white mask and war surgeon gloves before the DLC but then switched to oathseeker. I think he said it doesn't matter too much with what armor set you have for this build. I've been making pretty good progress with it and have downed several bosses. I kind of want to switch to a magic samurai build now for the added ranged DPS. Good luck out there :)
Hey, awesome video! Just one question, where do you get the Savage Lion's Claw Ash of War from?
I've been using a poison Great Katana with Giant's Hunt on it. Pretty fun
I took my bleed build into the dlc, arcane is just good for first playthroughs imo with the high item discovery. Was deciding between beast claws and great katana and I think great katana will be better thanks to the increased stagger. Rivers of blood really wasn't cutting it stagger-wise.
I also recommend to swap between the aow of your choice and piercing strike. Piercing strike is a lot safer than lions claw and does good stagger damage. But I only use it one bosses that I need safe consistent damage since the others are more fun imo

You should make a build using the Dragon-Hunter’s Great Katana. Can also be picked up pretty early
Just put double slash on this bad boy, does stupid amounts of damage with the full combo, numbers i’m seeing feels illegal and nerf-worthy

Double slash is dope on this build. I didn’t like how wonky savage lions claw was and found overhead stance underwhelming. Beat Rellana first try after making this change.
This is definitely my route. I'm trying out an occult build with Nagakiba and Naginata in the base game rn. This actually helps with that too.
Btw Fextra or other oracle: does native bleed tranfer to the phantom slash, or is it only buffs like bloodflame/grease etc?
Great video! Although how can I make this weapon Occult (i.e. scales with Arcane) whilst keeping the default weapon art? I didn't think this was possible?

Lions flaw is my favorite AOW for the greatsword, and I love the katana so I’m excited about this!

I've been using the Crucible Wings Ash of War on mine. I'm also using the new Stamina Recovery Talisman. I'm still locked out of Relana's Castle.

This one looks amazing. Would you prioritize the the NewGame+ builds, such as "Bloody Ballerina", or the new SOTE builds like this? Will you be ranking the SOTE builds?
If you have the armour set for Blaid in the base game, then that's a good option. A full armour set gives you 60 poise. Without just the headpiece, it's 57, so you're still at the 51 poise target.

Checked out the wiki a lot of the new spells look eccentric and awesome. Glad they didn't just reprint more of the same. Is it confirmed if the new weapons have power stance animations?

The improved lion move is really cool BUT, it has deplorable tracking and you miss average sized targets the vast majority of the time. Against larger ones/bosses its great, so its a good idea to swap back to the tripple-ichi-monji for normal things. With a patch or something hopefully the tracking gets fixed as the skill kills you move often than it even lands.
Just got it, and I'm wondering before fully upgrade it if it's worth compared with the Nargakiba with Unsheete. I supuse I'll have to try it out and see how it feels
The 2hand moveset is EXTREMELY reminiscent of the moveset of the longsword in Monster Hunter Series

this weapon is fucking goated holy shit, its like UGS damage but SO MUCH BETTER MOVESET (fast, amazing range, pokes, pierce+slash) AND BLEED
and on top of all thst the ash of war is awesome
feels so fucking smooth and hits like a truck
Running the new frost stomp ash making it a cold great katana is overpowered, freeze on third hit, bleed on fourth hit.
i would go cold infusion (3 hit combo on the ash of war proc it fast) and for talisman I'd take rellana's cameo, greatsword talisman with shard of alexander I can't imagine the damage xD
A few weeks back I was super hyped to prepare a new charecter for the Elden Ring DLC. I'm from brazil and back then the DLC was R$ 199,00 in the Xbox store. I started playing it, got quite far into the game and when I went to purchase it, the price had risen to R$ 265,00. I found that absurd and rather pay R$ 400,00 on the PS5 version (I own both consoles) than giving 70 $ to Microsoft "just because". Now, a week after deleting the game from my Xbox, I check the store again and the DLC went back to R$ 199. Which means Microsoft raises the price according to how much you're "invested" in the game and/or depend on their platform to enjoy the DLC.
