Quick tip for this weapon moveset: It has some inbuilt animation cancels, making it great weapon for comboing different attacks to get most out of it. Most notable is any R2 (jump, run, neutral) into R1, all 3 hits have the same speed like its one part of whole combo, greatly increasing burst damage of weapon (as your R1 hits during histun animation of enemy) Also R1->R2 has shorter animation, so if you need to start quick attack against unarmored enemy, hitstun with R1 gives you enough time to pull of its very fast R2. And very interestingly, Running R2 has transition animation into another R2, so you can do 2 very fast heavy attacks in succession with 4 hits total. And the best part? YOu can do it all in succession if you have stamina. Running R2->R2->R1>R2 is multihit chain with actually impressive speed and amazing DPS. Or just go R1, R2, R1, R2 agaist nimble enemies. Absolutely in love with the move set on the milady, I’m pairing it with a maxed out eclipse crest great shield for a Castlevania Alucard inspired build and you can stance break enemies for days with the unique double slash guard counter and super fast charged R2 combo that also comes with a ton of range.
Lol, that's what I've been doing. That plus Solitude armor set, Shard of Alexander, Rellana's Cameo, Lord of Blood's Exultation, and defensive talisman of choice.

@OscarSanchez-vo9dx nah it's found not far from where you get it. It's exclusive to light greatswords but it's also the only one you can put it on ironically. If you look at the weapon demo showcase its the ash where you hold your arm out to the side and can do a jumping thrust heavy or a light combo. It's extremely versatile and the range from the thrust is broken against humanoid enemies.

if you want to maximise the damage of milady while using a shield i recommend going cragblade with cold affinity, minimum strength, 50 dex (55 with milicent's prosthesis), 50 int and 15 or 25 faith (15 for flame grant me strength, 25 for golden vow but this is optional as you can put the ash of war on a dagger to save some points)
I like that you made a build that's grease-friendly! My main build uses occult so greases aren't exactly an option right now.. but I'm developing a strength hammers person who puts them to great use, and the new improved greases will go a long way.

Thank you for the build. I killed Messmer in no time with it, which really surprised me because I was expecting a hellish fight. The speed of the guard counter does wonders. Loving it!
I definitely had some trouble keeping up with w/ him w/ my Darkmoon Greatsword. I had a lot of fun against him though. I think milady looks like a lot of fun, but I think you sold me on why I wouldn't use it.
Loving this one atm. Personally i wasn't as much of a fan of the kind of "fencing" type of swordstyle of the sword, especially with this armor, so I was playing around w different weapons and found the flail/Nightrider's Flail to be extremely fun. It makes the build look so much cooler (IMO) and you can get some really good damage and poise break outta both flails (either one works, but nightrider scales better with DEX and can get more damage output). Thanks as always for the hard work and sick build man!
@leeli4692 yeah Probly didn't need to tho. Honestly for what I was doing royal knight's resolve prolly would have worked better. I also made my milady bleed instead of keen tho that was primarily for my mimic since I knew it would attack more than block.
@@leeli4692 I should point out I beat the final boss with this build cus it's what I figured I needed to win. I swapped around like 4 to 5 times b4 that.

Finally getting around to this DLC and am really enjoying the animations of some of the new weapons like Milady & Rellana’s Twin Blades. I know L2den Ringers don’t care much for these weapons, bc well there L2 doesn’t produce a 1200+ AR melt beam, but they hit that nostalgia of those old Souls weapons that require really unique & fun play styles.
Like this guide (as per usual). Very clear and great content. And I love the move set of the Milady.. I put piercing fang on it, anything with a shield is staggered in one it and the next one usually finish them off. Got poise breaker to switch on occasionally on most fights. But I struggle vs stuff that just power trough it’s attacks. Ofc it’s a skill issue but anyways. I find it very hard to trade up in melee as soon as the opponents are a bit tougher. Just vs Fire Knights I come out on to but pretty damaged - switched back to my old Blood Zwai and they can’t handle the interruptions and Eleonaras and olblade just eats them. Just tried Messmer and it was ugly. Switched to awls polearm and got him on third try. The difference in difficulty is just mind boggling.
To your point about the ash of war choice in regards to the moveset I've found in my playthrough with milady that simple one off moves for a specific purpose, like impaling thrust for shield breaking (or piercing fang to just bypass blocks altogether), work well in supplementing the moveset without replacing it. Also parry works amazeballs. Since the moveset doesn't really need an ash of war this opens up adding parry to your shield for even more shenanigans.
Taking your tower knight build into shadow of the erdtree with the heavy stone club instead as well as the distinguished greatshield, definitely liking the idea of milady as a heavy cragblade weapon
@@Roundtable-1 I've been using it a lot, along with backhand blade. Damage seems pretty decent. I have it set to keen with 80 dex. It's fast, has a pretty fancy and fluid moveset, but it doesn't flinch larger mobs like a greatsword can, so my attacks get interrupted easily. The Wingstance ash of war is really cool and pairs well with Rellana's Cameo, however you have to be quick with your timing when fighting super fast mobs/bosses. I get interrupted easy, or knocked out of the sky and stunned a lot when doing a wing stance R2 attack. Overall I wouldn't say it's an amazing weapon, but it offers some fancy new flavor to play around with if youre tired of the same old movesets that have been around for the past decade or longer.
I gonna be honest. I really love the move set and this build is pretty fun, but I've switched from a Dark Moon Greatsword build and it was like turning on very hard mode. I played with Milady for 2 hours, before switching back to my previous build :) I just couldn't handle the increased difficulty, because I'm soft like that :D I am looking forward to trying some boss weapons though, because some seem as overpowered as Dark Moon.
That armor design + Milady is incredible, i really wanted to powerstance them but the only other light greatsword we find scale with intellect and faith so gotta wait ng+ i guess
So you won’t be able to golden vow on it, since i am a dex faith user I am using this aow with the rellana medallion that increases damage alongside with golden vow as enchantment. For now it looks insane
Definitely gonna start using greases with this weapon. I would love a wing stance build because wing stance is basically the unique skill of this weapon since the other light greatswords can't swap skills.
Because I'm level 190, I did this build, but once I hit 60 vigor and 80 dex, I pumped my spare stats into faith so I'd have a decent arsenal of buffs and spells extra. I'm also testing the Shriek of Sorrow ash of war because it buffs you and debuffs enemies
The boss that drops this armor was the first thing I found when I started the dlc. I hadn't found any scadurtree fragments, and even though I had 53 vigor and was wearing Bernahl's fancy armor, that knight ripped me apart like four times. I just didn't hurt him, and if I ever missed a dodge he did like 2/3 of my health. It was honestly a pretty fun way to start the dlc.
I might not know about something, but I want to note that leveling up STR to 20 is better than investing extra points in dex beyond 80, even with keen infusion. I'm getting 579AR with 88/12 (dex/str) and 582AR with 80/20. Probably due to the excellent scaling of the early levels (16/18/20 for str). I was also wondering if quality quild with 50/50 might be better, for the extra physical defense you get from STR. I get 562 with quality infusion at 50/50, while my physical defense stat goes up from 142 to 158. At quality 60/60 i get 602AR (and 166 defense). And at keen 99/20 i get 600AR (142 defense). So same point investment, but I think for combat without sorceries that should just be better, don't you think? I also personally heavily prefer light roll medium light armor over medium roll heavy armor.
Thanks for this video, a paladin tgeme with a faster sword isexactly what i was looking for. I have 2 playtroughs with blasphemous blade str/fai, and this is a welcoming change in build. Currently fighting rellana, shes tough, but i see the horizon😊
The sword is great, feels amazing to use. I haven’t done much yet but I’m gonna hunt down some fragments and gear today, everything kills me in a few hits.
I have been wanting to test this weapon out, thank you for doing it for me! I'd be curious to see a Carian Thrusting Shield build which is another I want to try that out, but right now I am too addicted to the Beast Claw with cold affinity.
i'd have used godskin swaddling cloth with this build, the lgs heavy hits so fast you can get quite a lot of hp back from it to alleviate some trade damage
Im going to try the wing stance and rotten winged, insignia, shard of Alexander, the two headed turtle talisman and rellanas cameo. Then buff it with craigblade and go with R1 followed by an R2 after the three hits. I love that the new weapons bring new playstyles with them and have more options to combo out of L2.
Try to stagger him when he pulls out the crossbow, then avoid his two or three combos of melee attacks, I got it in my 5th or 6th try using that big hammer for high damage
@@marcelomlr i’m using this build, minus the armor. First two major bosses were fine, dragon was fine, and no problem with any of the regular enemies. But this guy!!!! I can only get to half health.

You upload I will watch love your builds.
i'd have used godskin swaddling cloth with this build, the lgs heavy hits so fast you can get quite a lot of hp back from it to alleviate some trade damage
IMO having no scabard for the weapon is a L for fashion, but the moveset is really good and unique... Great build!!
That mini boss to get the armor is ridiculously hard and two hits me.
Yeah, he was pretty dang tough. I was dodging a lot but made sure to not get too far away to keep him from loading that hilarious crossbow.
Just wait.. For Rakshasa.. Prepare to die edition...
Damn, Can’t believe you didn’t use Wing stance, it’s basically made just for Milady.
