Yeah but you have to get the upgrade material to lessen the damage idk if they still do a lot of damage once you upgrade it but if they do they should balance that

I found this weapon yesterday like 1h in to dlc and imidietly fall in love with the move set... if you get it right you can 100% times land perfect dodge with imidiet atack... definetly my favorite wepon right now, specially with bleed or fire ash of war
Damn this moveset looks so sick!! I kept going back to twin blades in the base game because I just love to move and attack fast and really jump on top of enemies quickly and aggressively and no other weapons in the base game did that as well as twin blades did. But this speed, the side step and I-frames...this may be exactly the new weapon type for me... Glad to see FromSoft not afraid to get into quick high speed movements... I'm not into the slow big bonk style so many souls-bros are so into... I'd love to see what is possible with the swift spear as well, especially two handing it! Hopefully there's a build for that play style as well! Love your work man, much appreciated 🙏
I'd dump a few points into faith to get to 12 faith, which gives you access to a bunch of very useful incantations: Bestial Vitality, Flame Cleanse Me, the Barriers incantations that give 30% resistance for 1 element, Heal (for revenants). And if you have 10 Arcane you can also use Bloodflame Blade which goes very nicely with this weapon given its rate of attack. Personally I prefer Blood infusion just because I find some DLC bosses (especially the final one) have quite higher resistance to bleed than base game bosses, and with Bloodflame Blade I couldn't proc bleed on them consistently. Aggressive bosses also won't give you the opening to rebuff, so I find bleed to be more effective against bosses, and with high enough level (183 for me) you can go 60 dex 45 arc and dump the rest into strength, and I find that after you proc bleed for the Lord of Blood Exultation talisman, the AR is similar to a Keen Backhand Blade at 80 dex anyway. Edit: Will test damage number further, but on paper bleed backhand blade has about 15% less raw AR than keen, but if you manage to proc bleed twice on a boss, that’s more than 21% of the boss’ HP. For reference I manage to proc bleed 3 times on the final DLC boss for each of my 4 successful attempts.
I found it right away and have been using it since, so good. I see it to Keen and then if I want status effect I use lighting or bloodflame I cantations or greases. Is also so freaking light, there is only 1 dagger that is lighter than this 1.5, a weight of 2 is insanely low I also just found Milady and man that moveset is so beautiful, this DLC is exceeding my expectations and the hype was already way high. This weapon is very overpowered in right hands, I admit I'm an average player so I'm not that good but with this weapon I was able to no-hit Malenia after couple tries, do get this weapon and master it's Ash Of War, I used blood infusion and bleed is insanely strong do try it out

Use lightening instead of keen to have increased damage at the sacrifice of using blood fire blade and incantations of that sort. And make sure you get some rest bro. These swords are amazing early into the DLC so far, great video 💯🫡
The crits with this weapon are SICK too, Im using curved sword talisman, two handed talisman, and blade of mercy talisman to do kinda an awesome two handed guard counter and crit build with this one
Souls Fashion tip: Maliketh's legs look awesome with black night set, as does Oathseeker's helm. but yeah, this base backhand blade on keen infusion is amazing and ive been slashing thru the dlc with it!
This is great because I used your Supreme Samurai build to enter the DLC and this sword uses the same attributes so I will definitely be trying it out! Do you like the backhand more than the katanas?
Theses sword are really good. Good damage nice proc for bleed or frost builds and the ash of war is literally a evasive whenever you think you aren’t going to time a roll correctly
Just took out Messmer, an I have to say going blood with this weapon just seems to be better. Only thoughts are is it worth pumping arcane and lowering dex. I’m currently melting enemies with the current build.

I will say I’m kinda disappointed with how little weapons they made for the new classes there’s basically 3 of each new class and only ONE throwing knife and only TWO thrusting shields…… but don’t worry guys there’s 4 perfume bottles lmao
I went in with Pure Dex and decided to Scale Faith to use and buff the Armament-Incants. I personaly also find myself using the Charged heavy alot (that forward Movement of it is Esquisite. Realy good for closing in) so i use Axe.
Tried some of the new builds in the DLC and they were alright. Hit a road block with Messmer though (I am not very good) and after many tries, I took out my old Rivers of Blood. The game is now finished.
RoB is still goated. every time i get humbled by a boss in dlc while using backhanded blades, i bring out RoB or eleonora's poleblade and humble them lmao
Great build, but for some reason I had to put bloodhound step on because the damage scaling was lower with keen and my DEX is over 90. Am I missing something here?
Are the I frames affected by the weight your guy is? Can I do this move with the artifact that says "the more epiuped load the more attack" you could overload, become unkillable. And still be dashing around doing wild dmg.
This weapon has a nice moveset and feel to it, but the special very often fails to land and is clunky as hell. I don't know how to feel about it; I wanna like the weapon but it feels severely unfinished.
Big question. Renala's armor or Black Knight set armor what give u also 5% shadow blessing (fragment buff) so idk if thats alot or no? Thoughts @tagbacktv?
Just got them in the DLC and they are by far my favorite weapons in the whole game due to my playstyle, there’s plenty of better weapons out there that i use but these are perfect fr, i hope they dont touch these blades at all

I upgraded the blades to +25 and they have C scaling in dex instead of S scaling. Im i missing something?

I’m confused. I leveled my backhand blade +25 and it only has C in Dex, not S.
I was confused on this too. To get S-scale with dex have to put keen onto the blade through the ashes of war section at any sight of grace

For me it shows D scaling in dexterity
even if it scales with strength just a little bit (D) does that mean you don’t have to worry about putting any into strength ?
Sorry for the dumb question but how do you get 2 of the blades on first playthrough or does it just give you 2 of them.
You have to two hand it by using the interact button and then left or right click depended on which slot you have them

Beat the last boss with these just this morning. The AOW on it was the only way I managed to beat it without NPCs or summons 😅

I threw the Blasphemous Blade in my right hand to keep on my back while dual welding these. That way you can get the health on death effect.
