I have both of them ms like them both. I think I like the furls just a bit better.

I have both types of hooks & like them both. I crochet primarily with cotton. I find that the Ophire hooks slide more smoothly through the stitches. No grabbing, just a nice quick, relaxing glide. The few times that I have used acrylic, the experience has been the same.

Thank you for a great review. I just discovered your channel. I have several furls hooks and absolutely love them. Had not heard of the ophire, but after watching your review, look forward to trying it.

I have more Furls hooks than Opire hooks and i enjoy using them both. I always come back to the Furls. I use the pencil grip and they just seem to fit my hand better. I think it is a bit project dependent which i choose too. I mostly work with acrylic yarn.

Very thorough. I loved it! I think I tend to have certain hooks I like with certain yarn. I may love my Ophire but I use my Furls a lot! In fact one particular one I call my "slipper hook" cause it's my go to hook when I make slippers.

The tension on the Furls looks very slightly tighter to me - but I could be wrong - great review! I was pleasantly surprised the Ophire was so nice.

This is worrisome. I just bought an entire set of Oopsie hooks from Furls. I hope I don't regret it.
Never heard of Ophire until just yesterday, so I'll be looking into those too.
I currently use Etimo Tulips that are really smooth.
I wonder if Furls is just popular because of word of mouth. I have a set of the all wood in different colors and I never use them.
I also ordered 3 Furls in the metal. Looking forward to those!
I'm really wanting to try Nelsonwood hooks soon, but they are so expensive.

@@NurseAngie0 i think you will still like them . I personally don’t use acrylic yarn with my resin hooks because of friction. However I know the majority of people do use acrylic yarn so I just showed what would be useful information for everyone.
      I hope that helps!

Did you end up liking the metal Furls? I am looking to try those. I hear there is friction with the wooden ones so I have not been interested in trying wood, but I hear the metal ones are very smooth.

@@evalinemama yes! I have many of them and are saving up for the full set! I am actually doing a video about my thoughts on the Metal line in a few days! I would wait to buy until you hear my full thoughts on them!

@evalinemama I really like the metal hooks. I have a complete set of the wooden ones and never use them. I haven't had a chance to use the resin hooks. I'm looking to get more metal. I didn't like the odyssey hooks because they didn't grab the yarn, but the new metal ones work great!

Great review. I looove my Furls but I also love my Ophire! Certain projects and yarn require certain hooks. I do prefer the Ophire over my furls when I work on small Amigurumi because of the little sharp tip but then other yarns and projects work better with my Furls especially my Odysseys 😊and I absolutely want to praise both customer service!!! They are awesome in replacing accidental breakage!!! Another great hook I just discovered are the Ommi hooks 👍🏻
