The PS3 Controller That Moves By Itself. Can I Exorcise It?

I have a PlayStation 3 that I keep connected to my retro gaming setup in case I want to play some of its great games.
The problem is that the only two official controllers I have are defective, one of them being haunted as it does all sorts of random stuff, which means that I have to use a crappy third party controller I have.
So, in this part of The Eric Experiment, let's repair both controllers and exorcise the poltergeist that lives in one of them.

I freaking hate ghost keys and ghost buttons. In the office we have a brand new laptop that every now and then include some "m" in the worst moments, especially when you have to put your password, just to fucking annoy the hell out of you.

Wow. Thank you so much! I followed another video for cleaning and it didn’t fix the haunted controller. I found your video, disassembled again and added that plastic piece and voilà, it worked like a charm. Awesome!!

Might be a battery that is completely flat to the point that it doesn't even charge anymore. Replacing it might fix it, assuming that's the issue.

I used the foam pad for the battery pack and put it on top of the old pad anyone looking for a quick fix and don't have foam or plastic.💯😅

You will need a "capture card", then you can record it or stream it with your computer using something like OBS. EposVox has a lot of videos on capture cards that might be helpful in picking one.

I haven't noticed it, but to be fair I don't play my ps3 that often.
It shouldn't thought if the cable is very well pressed on the pcb.
It's such a bad design though, probably to save costs.
