For anyone wondering why huge power doubling azumarill's attack from 50 to 100 is so good - thats not actually how stat doubling effects work. Azumarill's attack stat is calculated from its base 50 attack plus IVs and EVs, and then the final result - which at level 50 maxes out at 112 - is doubled. The final stat is roughly the equivalent of having base 150-160 attack, so somewhere between Groudon and Necrozma-Dusk Mane. Pretty impressive for such a little guy!

Nice to hear some Colosseum/XD OST in a competitive doubles video! Definitely really iconic doubles oriented pokemon games so fits really well for these videos
My favorite thing about this video is the use of Pokemon Colosseum music in the background. Colosseum was a game that primarily featured Johto Pokemon and revamped a lot of their animations (most notably Ampharos and Azumarill), and allowed players access to them who had complained about Ruby/Sapphire's lack of backwards compatibility with Gold/Silver. Not sure if that was intentional on Wolfey's part but I appreciate it nonetheless.
Dunsparce was my very first pokemon card. Was given to me in school as a pity card, to this day I love and appreciate the little guy more seeing him as the cutest lil sleepy snake.
I think I’m one of the only people who genuinely love Dudunsparce’s design. Him just turning into *more* Dunsparce makes me love him so much and shows he was already perfect as a Dunsparce
I'm one of those who for years rooted for Dunsparce to get some love becauae I love the lil guy. S/V delivered on that AND on giving my other bud Girafarig the love it deserved. Even though Dudunsparce is still a joke to some, I'm glad to see it finally grow ❤

I laughed so hard at the "crobat disrupting the opponent" stock footage lol
When I was a kid I traded a charizard for a smeargle when it was first released because I thought it was rare. You don't know the hatred I have for that mon
One of my favorite vgc fun facts is that Suicune has never played a game against a mon with a physical electric move
Gen 2 is my favorite gen. Tyranitar, Houndoom, entei, suicune, dolphan, typhlosion, so many fantastic designs
what about scizor
@@Dalton-mt2cn fuck yeah. That too
Feraligatr!
And then Natu appears
I remember my Ampharos sweeping everything it came across so a long with typhlosion it was my heavy hitter
Same! He's just a little guy who turns into a bigger little guy!
I'm one of those who for years rooted for Dunsparce to get some love becauae I love the lil guy. S/V delivered on that AND on giving my other bud Girafarig the love it deserved. Even though Dudunsparce is still a joke to some, I'm glad to see it finally grow ❤
@@MsVilecat My Dunsparce, Quagsire and shuckle were aces on my soul silver playthrough
Had a similar experience as a kid, except mine was a Weedle card, back when the trading card game was just starting to take off (yes, I'm old). Still have a fondness for that little guy. Incidentally, I actually really like Dunsparce as well.
Perfect! I needed something to listen to while I mow the lawn and Wolfey comes in clutch with a 47 min video. I should finish mowing a few min after this video ends😁
Pepperidge farm remembers! Suicune was by far my favorite gen 2 pokemon alongside Tyranitar and Misdreavus.
Wolfey's war on Incineroar knows no bounds. He is like a supporting actor. The fella shows up every video.
LOVE the Pokémon colosseum music, editor goated for that. Wolfey vids stay the best on RUclips
Great games
I can't help but just picture Tyranitar pulling off Gonzap's jumping double fist pump from XD Gale of Darkness at 43:24 as it really kicks in.
Love Hitmontop’s idle animation dancing Capoeira. Hitmontop is called “Kapoera” in Japan.
I’m not expecting Ariados to be here but shoutout to my fave of all time
I am so glad I’m not the only person who heard Scizor’s cry in Melee as Seezor.
I had no idea Tyranitar was that good, but he's always been my favorite pokemon so this was a cool watch at the end. I had the most fun when I had a team with Tyranitar and Aggron on it so they quickly became my go-too for clearing the game
Johtonian Incineroar/Xerneas team shows up: “You are my special”
Ah yes, Johtonian Incineroar
Mono Fire-type
Has Flash Fire instead of Intimidate
Doesn’t have Fake Out or Parting Shot
Wait, isn’t that just Typhlosion?
@@typemasters2871 They're talking about Hitmontop.
@@solitare4602 ah, my mistake
Gotta love that Colesseum soundtrack. Was a great way to get a lot of gen 2 pokemon in gen 3 as well!
I love the Pokémon colosseum music playing throughout the video. 😍😍😍
Been watching your videos for a minute now and never realized how much work you put into them. I figured it took awhile but 100-200 hours is crazy. Subbing just off that fact, keep the content coming. 💪🏽
I love that you put coliseum and xd gale of darkness music in your video !!
Tyranitar's back must really hurt from carrying all of gen 2
Wolfey talking about politoed gives proud father vibes lol
32:35 - can we just take a second to admire the Manuel Massaro team, which brought three pokemon with a BST below 350 to an international tournament and then proceeded to get second place?
The three small babies I get, they have very specific uses, i want to understand what are doing the cat, the psychic dog and why the intimidate user is the Kroc specifically
@@kdlsimondistefan47 that too. i think the cat had parting shot and some other tricks to let it support. i'm just wondering who all of these supports are supposed to be supporting.
@@snolls105 ...Doesn't the Kroc have also Moxie?
Maybe the Kroc is the one they're supporting
@@kdlsimondistefan47 it does, but also, moxie feels like overkill when you're doing extreme evoboost + baton pass strats. wouldn't it be better to have something that could be immediately dangerous?
Another great video Wolfe! I can’t wait to see which is the best Gen 3 Pokémon competitively. Your content is amazing! I rooted for you to win during the NAIC.
I just wanna take a moment and say i love your thumbnails. Props to the artist.
I'm a big shuckle fan, was in the battle tower in Emerald & got stuck against a Magneton while running toxic stall... Poison not working on steel I thought I'd lost. Eventually forced it to struggle & won! Got so excited I dropped my Gameboy & it froze so it didn't count😂😂
25:55 Wolfey pronounces Gengar correctly.
100-200 hours put into these videos? Sheesh Wolfey, but that shows the dedication put into these type of videos.
7:33 yo shoutouts to the editor, no-one would've really noticed if you hadnt color corrected patrick for the meme there but you went the extra mile. salute.
I like how, when we get to suicune, he plays pyrite town music from XD and Colosseum! Arguably Colosseum specifically where suicune matters the most and is a “must have”.
33:28 omfg, I think my mind had blocked that cursed Pokemon Stadium animation
Tyranitar is Godzilla's Pokemon OC and I say this lovingly because the Nidos always gave me Baragon vibes (and I love Baragon.) 😂
For your next videos can you do:
-Best Dark Pokemon
-Best alolan Pokemon
-Best cat Pokemon
-Best intimidate Pokemon
-Best smash bros Pokemon
-Best Pokemon
Love that the background music playing is Evice’s theme. One hell of a fight with a beast of a ‘mon 😮💨
Shuckle will remember this transgression.
Great video! Sad my boy Lanturn didn't make it but they will always be number 1 in my heart. I think a fun buff would be if illuminate increased your accuracy and ally accuracy by one stage or just giving it lightning rod. I dint think either would make it super viable but I think it could find some niche roles.
Fun fact suicune used to have water absorb as one of its own ability untill gramefreak decidedly to remove it.
The lack of Umbreon respect is so loud
As my favorite Pokémon, Umbreon is admittedly not great in doubles. In singles? A lot more terrifying, especially in older formats.
I always try to guess the top 5 before watching the video and as a singles player, I was surprised to not see Umbreon, skarmory, and blissey (even though I know eviolite Chansey is a thing)
@@theduker5926these videos focus on VGC specifically, which are fast-paced doubles formats that skarmory and blissey have never been good in
edit: Nvm you kinda acknowledged that i can’t read
So you're saying Moody Octillery isn't the best? Dislike
I liked to counter your dislike :/
I love the scizor illustration rare used in the background! Keep using great tcg art in your videos!
Love these videos! And im happy to see tyranitar still kicking up its sand and doing its thing.
The editing of these videos having a new image/visual every 1-2 seconds is amazing. It’s similar to tiktok and how all of our attention spans are fried and like to see new images every few seconds 😭. The editing has to be time consuming but it’s very, very good.
Kurt's thumbnail art gives me so much life everytime!🙏
:)
You still haven’t filled out the Wo-Chien apology form
Your editor is dope, I love your discussion videos because of 'em two champs working together🤣
I love it when Wolfey has a new idea and makes it a series, SUPER cool
