Gonna be honest, I have been training a Snorlax since Gen 3 to be a Ribbon Master and seeing this video makes me excited to use it since I plan on reaching Master Rank and getting the Master Rank Ribbon.
@JustinObi54 Actually, so far, I'm on Gen 4 and I keep getting my butt kicked by super terrible luck in the battle tower. Sheer Cold and Horn Drill spammers everywhere. Luckily that is the only trouble I think I will have. Gens 6-9 seem to be much easier in terms of battle facilities.
In swsh when they let people use mythicals I had a Trick room team with drumlax using figy berry and recycle I pity the poor pokemon that got body slammed by that unit

As much as I love certain multiplayer games, it is always sad when the meta-games gets so narrow that everyone always uses the same things no matter what, stagnating strategies because if you don't use the meta-counter strategies you instantly lose. Pokemon luckily has enough variety that weird team combos like this can keep people on their toes. It's more fun to face a genuine challenge and have to think on the fly then just "the statistically best team to run." Love this approach, get weird with it.
Yeah, but sadly pokemon teams do get very samey at times. Rillaboom, Ogrepon, Flutter Mane, Landerous, Incineroar, Urshifu, and probably some others are really popular and most teams probably have 3 of them at least. Before these guys ik Dondozo and Tatsugiri were trendy and dominated every team
The reason why I love Wolfey is cuz he is not one of those meta slaves with copy paste teams changing like 1 pokemon. He's always looking for new potential and that's just something not many people do.
I think this has to be my favorite part 1:12:16 Wolfe deep in thought about the leads and his first move, but still uttering an almost subconscious "piepie" in time with clefairy
Wolfe, I really love the analysis you do at the beginning of your videos, and that you actually explain the EV spreads. For example, by having the 1 HP on Snorlax such that it procs Sitrus berry. Very helpful for the mediocre comp players like myself lol.

I like mimicking the cries of certain pokemon when they come out of the pokeball, and I was so surprised and delighted to hear you do it at the same time haha! 😆 Clefairys cry is just too cute 😊
I can see the weakness of this team comp is that you usually only have 2 offensive Pokémon and 2 support so if you lose one of your offensive mons to an unlucky crit you can get massively set back right out the gate.
Big root is actually really good for sinestcha, it gets strength sap along with matcha gotcha, which are both boosted by it. At least that’s the set I use for it.
I think Sitrus Berry might better in most cases (i.e., as long as it activates) because Big Root requires committing to a move (Matcha/Sap) while being damaged to get the value.
Snorlax should get a signature ability that it is immune to sleep paralysis and when it does it gets a random stat boost, honestly I don't know how game freak hasn't thought of this already because Snorlax's design is based around sleep. I expect my paycheck by Monday game freak.
My favorite team you have EVER used, both snorlax and kommo-o are some of my favorites that sadly arent used very much in recent generations. I will totally use this team myself
Ogrepon: THE definition of cute & powerful in it's _STAB_ that can be 1/4 types & high crit rate, combine that with Focus Energy/Swords Dance or both & you get one powerful Pokemon that can sweep unsuspecting teams.
A half hour into the video, and I feel it became less about snorlax, and more about how kommo-o sits on the flutter mane infestation. Honestly, i find the most meta pokemon out there getting rekt a lot more entertaining, but it's nice to see snorlax make his return as a belly drum sweeper.

Kinda felt off on day 2 where the best teams are but it dominated day 1 tho, except for World's runner up and Empoleon guy (sorry to be frank but he played so well he deserved to win). Aside from those 2, day 1 players got a lot of bad reads and poor decisions

Not really? He is using creative teams before but all of these Pokémon have been good before. None of these are brand new ideas. Snorlax was popular in a sun and moon Format and even dominated. He is creative but not some god. He is a god at battling though.
One of the best parts about watching these videos is seeing people use your team on the showdown ladder and immediately knowing exactly how it works and ho to counter it

Mental herb is probably better because if they have taunt you´re fucked with big root/berry. If they don´t you still get recovery anyway.
