I'm a big Frampton fan, but I'm in You always reminded as a concerted effort to come up with some mega hit in order to please his record company. This live version, however, is in a class all by itself. It probably has more to do with the fact that Frampton shines during lives performances.....he can probably make a Justin Bieber tune sound like an epic performance in a live setting.

However, instead of having a few generation gaps in pop music since the 1940's, we now have only one. Your generation is either before or after the internet. It's like I feel sorry for kids today; they won't know what it's like to only see their fave band on the album cover, or in a magazine. Made concerts all the more special.
What I mean, is that his older age brings more to the song, as well as his delivery because he comes across with a man singing from life experience. Playin' my original vinyl, it occurred to me that the tune was a teen love song, that crossed over to adult contemporary, what they called that music in the late 70's. I wasn't quite a teen when the tune hit the charts and airwaves. Good shit!
