@@elvisleon754 i actually thought Robin Williams was better in Good Will Hunting than Reynolds was in Boogie, so I was fine with that. I’ve seen both films numerous times, and it’s obvious to me that Moore gave the most riveting and complex performance in the category. I like Kim, and I loved LAC-thought it deserved Best Pic, but you’ll never get me to believe that Kim gave a better performance than Julianne. We’ll have to agree to disagree there. The fact is thst Km was the most popular name in the category that night, and we all know how well-loved Alec Baldwin was in the Actor’s branch of the Academy. She was expected to win and did. I think it’s telling too that Julianne went on to be nominated 4 additional times (winning once) over the years. Also interesting is that in the film community exists an organization that hosts and presents the “20/20” awards. That is, films and performances from 20 years ago are revisited and reconsidered in each and every Oscar category, with the benefit of 2 decades of hindsight behind them (hence the name 20/20).
