Dealers will never do this. The pit boss doesn't even speak to the dealer when adjusting averages. Being nice to the pit boss though can lead to a higher average. You can even ask them when you get up what your average was. Some even ask me if that was a fair average or if they need to adjust it for me.
Why would they do so? Most dealers I’ve met root for the players. They don’t see a dime when the casino wins but they do take a lot of tips if the players win.
I went to Vegas and stayed at a place that gave free drinks at the slots. Took awhile for the server to come around and I ended up getting a drink about 1 an hour. Probably lost $35 each hour. Watched the server and saw the bar she went to was empty of customers. At that bar they had blackjack computers in the bar top. Ask the bartender about free drinks and he told me if I put $20 in the computer I could drink for free. Computer only had three decks and shuffled them after running out of cards. I played for 4-5 hours a night over the week, never lost money and had a bartender who would refill my double 7&7 as soon as it was empty. Even after my $30 tip out, I was still either breaking even or walking away with money in pocket. Best way I found to kill time while I wasn’t shooting pool in the tournament I was in Vegas for. Made enough while drinking that I covered my meals and only ended up spending $300 while I was in town. Room was covered by the tournament and I even got far enough that I was paid out by the time I was knocked out of tournament.
@mattvisconti8456 well my point was that comps are worth for some, but if you're counting cards you may not worry about comps. Both are fine. And you can have a low count and be the only player at the table, sometimes you just need to bet minimum until a new shoe or a better count.

Former dealer here. Very often when a player leaves the floorperson will ask us what your average was. Sometimes this is because they were super busy and couldn’t keep a good eye on the players bets. Sometimes it’s to check and see if what they think your average was matches the dealers thoughts(as you can tell this is NOT an exact science). So I would say the odds of this working are very low.
@@FighteroftheNightman Yeah it certainly helps. I used to round up and tell the floorperson a higher amount if I was getting tipped. Floorpeople like to see that as well. 99% of them started as dealers and they love to see their dealers getting treated well.
Ive never been to a casino but have been watching some of your stuff over time as a general interest. What is the advantage of the computer system clocking you at a higher average bet?
They'll increase your free stuff. Food, drinks, rooms if you appear to be spending. They know the odds are ever in their favor and so they want you to stay to infinity.
Doesn't work for Caesars properties. The table knows how much exactly your bet is and adjust automatically when you change your bet. Also its not really smart risking $200 just to get comps on your card.
I'm not sure they have RFID chips for small denim chips. They are more expensive and a lot of casinos will only do those on higher demons 100, 500, 1,000 or more. They don't care about nickles or quarters.
The way they determine your average bet is a joke. At my local Harrah’s they had my average bet at the table for the hour less than what the table minimum was 😂
I was playing every hand decisively, no long pauses, correctly for a half hour. But then other players yell out "double!" like it's my first time playing. Just odd.
As a dealer I would tell my pit boss what the player is doing, plus the comp system is based also on how long you sit at the table for. A lot of people don't know that. You'll get better comps on slots believe me
why? I mean i work at a casino aswell as a floor and if they are betting for the dealer i could give a fuck lol. I used to deal at a KYO so i know how it is. everyone knows its average bet x time played. If they are betting for the dealer i put them higher than they really are betting. I don't care dealers should get paid a higher wage for what they do and the players they have to deal with. don't b that guy
You assume that your every bet is watched. Having worked in several casinos accross the world, I can tell you that nobody watches for average bets, but for how much you drop. The pitboss is not the only one taking notes. The Inspectors also watch the tables and they are the ones noting how much you spend. Comping does not depend on how much you spend, but on your behavior and relationship with the staff
As it's related to comps in this video? The comps given are directly related to your perceived average bet amount. At a min bet you might get a dinner and a bottom tier room after a night of playing. If they think you're betting 10x min bet you might end up with a suite, flights, and gift cards after the same night.
@mrpc you think that the Pit Boss hanging around and staring players down at a table is giving us a better experience? 🤔 I've been at this for 30 years or so and I've never looked at that as a great customer experience. That's heat. I'll leave the casino
@@fljetgator1833 If you're an AP, no its not a better experience. For "normal" BJ players I'm saying they treat you a lot better at the $100 min. bet tables (or the high roller room) than they do the scrubs at the low limit tables.
I just went to vegas for business and was disgusted with how many 6 to 5 tables I saw. I legitimately couldn’t find a 3 to 2 table in any of the casinos I went to on my off time. Granted, I did only go to the ones on the strip since they were within walking distance of my hotel and maybe that was the problem.
3/10 advice. 1. That kind of flux in your bet is great way to get labeled as a counter, and a bad one. 2. The higher your bet is the more the suit is going to pay attention to your play, even if they arent hovering over your table staring at it. You do know if they glance over from across the pit they can tell the difference between two or three black cheques and a single green cheque right?
The cards are still random, electronic or actual cards. They rate everyone's play as in how much you are betting. People that bet a lot get more free stuff as in free rooms, free food, and free drink. If they see you betting big, you will get more credit than somebody that's only betting $5 a hand. So when the pit boss is around, He sees me betting big and puts me in the computer that I'm a big bettor And then the casino will say hey we want him here and send me coupons for free hotels and put money on my players card So I can get free food and free drinks or coupons for free food and drinks.
I’m a table dealer and there is no such thing, in a nutshell you’ve made the agreement and odds against you once you walked inside the house which In blackjack 72% for the Dealer (House) %28 for the player which is loosing most of the time.
As a floorperson, if you toke (tip) the dealers, I'll give you a better average bet. If you don't, your average is much lower. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this. If you're cheap, your average will reflect that. I guarantee it.
This is like saying max out your credit cards every month because you get 1% cash back. Casinos are cheap and greedy and are only getting worse. But if you want to lose $2k so they give you a free $100 room on your next visit then this is good info.
Ive had very good results with betting say 10$, if I win the bet I bet 20$, if I win the bet I bet 40, if i win the bet i go back to 10$.If im doing well ill press, 20 40 80 off.
They want people that gamble more. They see you betting big, they assume you are a higher roller than someone betting $5 a hand. They want to get you in and keep you in the casino, so they give you free stuff. Free food, rooms, drinks. The more you bet, the more free shit you get. They see you betting big, that's good for you. They "rate" your play as in how much you are betting.
Im not sure what casino comps they'd give me that I need that's worth the first $200 bet. Like, that first $200 will get me plenty drunk enough and a good plate of food and I doubt I'll spend enough to get a rooftop suite so....
Casino comps. If you own a casino, do you want People that are big bettors or small bettors? You want people that come to your casino and spend a lot of money. So when the pit boss comes around and he sees you betting bigger, then you go in the computer as a big bettor. Then he comes back a half an hour later and you bet big again, the computer says that you've been betting big that entire time. The casino then wants to reward you and will give you free rooms, free food, drinks, etc (comps). They don't make money on little gamblers that bet $5.
why would they be putting in the bets manually? They know which seat you are in, the chips now have RFIs, I would assume the table would have an RFI detector of some sort, I would guess by now some company would have figure out how to create a table that could track your bets without a manual system. Or did I just have a 10 million dollar idea :D
You could also try just being a nice player and tipping well. If the supervisor is nice they bump up your average bet. They want people who are nice and good tippers to come back. Also inversely, if you’re an a**hole don’t expect them to be nice when rating you.
The only flaw is that on every break dealers in some casinos are asked what is the mid bet per seat. So if you come in betting 2-3 hands off hundred bucks then drop it down to 15-25 I’m gonna say 15-25. So this is a cute theory for the casinos that maybe are not a strict. But you can bet at the mg grand or at the bellagio their gonna be watching you like a Hawk if your throwing down 100 dollars bets to begin with.
Lazy pit bosses make this effort useless and may risk more than some people can afford. In playing high limit $200 min single deck blackjack, I martingale the first hand of each shoe then go down to the table minimum and half press on wins. However, they always have me at $200 bet.
If your goal is being an advantage player, wouldn’t it be better to not have a player card? I mean free hotel and food is nice, but I imagine they track a lot more than just the size of your bed. And I know it takes ID and information to get a player card.
Because we won't realize you're doing that... be polite, tip your dealers, we'll give you a more than fair average. Some comp systems are based on average bet and time of play, others almost completely stress win/loss. Be polite, that's the best way to get what you want.

Sometimes it’s to check and see if what they think your average was matches the dealers thoughts(as you can tell this is NOT an exact science). So I would say the odds of this working are very low.
If Im throwing tips does that change?
@@FighteroftheNightman Yeah it certainly helps. I used to round up and tell the floorperson a higher amount if I was getting tipped. Floorpeople like to see that as well. 99% of them started as dealers and they love to see their dealers getting treated well.
They always ask me, “How much did you buy in for?” and luckily no dealer has ever called me out for when I double the actual number
Twist: Pit boss is fired for suspected cheating because you always bet 10x more when they’re watching you.
Also its not really smart risking $200 just to get comps on your card.
nothing an rfd chip broadcaster can't solve. they'll show you max bet every hand despite it being a $5 hand on an$5k max bet
@@yourfriendlyneighborhoodic128you can also have chips on your pocket and rasie your leg tk directly under your bet.
You don't risk $200 just to get comps. You risk $200 because you want to. You just make sure you get seen when you do it.
I'm not sure they have RFID chips for small denim chips. They are more expensive and a lot of casinos will only do those on higher demons 100, 500, 1,000 or more. They don't care about nickles or quarters.
@@jeromyt6873 Ive been in a casino industry for a long time. This is still stupid. These are the players we call fleas on the table.
A lot of the computers are synched. They can watch from a distance and enter from a distance. That’s what I do.
Instructions unclear, my Pit Boss is called Manoroth.
Tried this.... pit boss watched for the first 5min but I only had $500 to play with. No comp, thanks for the tip
If the counts negative doesn’t that help you to know to hit sometimes? Knowing you’re more likely to get a small card?
The way they determine your average bet is a joke. At my local Harrah’s they had my average bet at the table for the hour less than what the table minimum was 😂
I was playing every hand decisively, no long pauses, correctly for a half hour. But then other players yell out "double!" like it's my first time playing. Just odd.
And this is why you cash out between $500-700
Thanks, now I’ll tell my casino staff
As a dealer I would tell my pit boss what the player is doing, plus the comp system is based also on how long you sit at the table for. A lot of people don't know that. You'll get better comps on slots believe me
why? I mean i work at a casino aswell as a floor and if they are betting for the dealer i could give a fuck lol. I used to deal at a KYO so i know how it is.
everyone knows its average bet x time played. If they are betting for the dealer i put them higher than they really are betting. I don't care dealers should get paid a higher wage for what they do and the players they have to deal with. don't b that guy
... 🤔 .. tells the pit boss what the player is 'doing'? .. in my world that's called a RAT 😐
Maybe he means he'll let the pit know that you are betting higher even if the pit doesn't see it.
Whats comp ? I just started going but I do slots an wanna do black jack but haven’t worlef up the nerve
Better comps at the biggest losing activity, you don't say? Lol
Now to gambling. Why do I want the "pit" (idk ehat tha is) to see me betting a lot?
You assume that your every bet is watched. Having worked in several casinos accross the world, I can tell you that nobody watches for average bets, but for how much you drop. The pitboss is not the only one taking notes. The Inspectors also watch the tables and they are the ones noting how much you spend. Comping does not depend on how much you spend, but on your behavior and relationship with the staff
It's all automated now. They have sensors on the table and the chips.
they do this for high limit tables 100%, but I don't think they do it for normal tables
What is the point of having a higher average bet? Just curious, i dont know much about casino blackjack.
As it's related to comps in this video? The comps given are directly related to your perceived average bet amount. At a min bet you might get a dinner and a bottom tier room after a night of playing. If they think you're betting 10x min bet you might end up with a suite, flights, and gift cards after the same night.
@@Blackjackapprenticeshipoh so it's just to get better treatment by the casinos? That's interesting. Thank you!
Works every time!
They watch you 2x as close if you play at tables with higher action. not just to stop AP but to give higher-paying customers a better experience.
I'm a pitboss and this is NOT how it works. All I do is input the average at the end and yes, I DO pay attention and I am very fair.
You are not a pit boss.lmao not with that pfp
@@brandonmcdowell61 stay in your lane. I have over 40 years in the casino business. I KNOW of which I speak
Instructions unclear. I found out their were 52 cards when I counted them, but I didn’t make any money
What does having a higher average bet afford you?
I just went to vegas for business and was disgusted with how many 6 to 5 tables I saw. I legitimately couldn’t find a 3 to 2 table in any of the casinos I went to on my off time.
Granted, I did only go to the ones on the strip since they were within walking distance of my hotel and maybe that was the problem.
When pitboss is near: lose all your money 😂
That's good "IF" they are watching..
I have a hard time I playing blackjack, now you want me to play a 2nd game on the side?
3/10 advice.
1. That kind of flux in your bet is great way to get labeled as a counter, and a bad one.
2. The higher your bet is the more the suit is going to pay attention to your play, even if they arent hovering over your table staring at it. You do know if they glance over from across the pit they can tell the difference between two or three black cheques and a single green cheque right?
So why would I bet more when the count is off just because a pit boss is sitting next to me?
Arent the cards random if its not electronic, can someone explain whats the asvantage here.
If i do this in the UK casinos and start with 100 a play, ima endup having a safer gaming talk 😂
I’m a table dealer and there is no such thing, in a nutshell you’ve made the agreement and odds against you once you walked inside the house which In blackjack 72% for the Dealer (House) %28 for the player which is loosing most of the time.
Half these casinos aren’t even quick to give you a player card even if you ask for one immediately as you sit down. That’s annoying.
As a floorperson, if you toke (tip) the dealers, I'll give you a better average bet. If you don't, your average is much lower. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this. If you're cheap, your average will reflect that. I guarantee it.
instructions unclear, I am now in-dept
Nowadays casinos use chips that imbeded with Rfid chips so it automatically recorded your win/lost and help them to identify card counters.
I don't see how this would work? Card counting margins are so small forcefully placing a high bet on a low count will wipe out any profits
I noticed when I start winning decent at my Casino.. they watch me like a hawk and tell the floor how much I have.. it’s kind of ridiculous..
Still haven't been told how this helps me
Comps
They want people that gamble more. They see you betting big, they assume you are a higher roller than someone betting $5 a hand. They want to get you in and keep you in the casino, so they give you free stuff. Free food, rooms, drinks. The more you bet, the more free shit you get. They see you betting big, that's good for you. They "rate" your play as in how much you are betting.
@@jeromyt6873 lol, aint no way that process hasnt been automated to track ur every move, like a decade ago
You give away hundreds of dollars for a $2 drink. If you don’t think that’s profit you probably aren’t a gambler
@@pipedgolf4634 dealer actually
I got a poker (Texas hold'em) learning kit and the chips are blank. Can someone explain how I use them and if there normally blank
Like without values? Yeah. You can assign arbitrary values
Red are 1 cent blues 25 or vis verses
Doesn't work when the casino is using 'chipped' chips. All play is recorded via a reader in the table under your position you are playing.
Im not sure what casino comps they'd give me that I need that's worth the first $200 bet. Like, that first $200 will get me plenty drunk enough and a good plate of food and I doubt I'll spend enough to get a rooftop suite so....
Why does the average bet size matter?
How does this affect gameplay
Question? How does this help me ? 😮
More than $10million if you slap AI on it.
You could also try just being a nice player and tipping well. If the supervisor is nice they bump up your average bet. They want people who are nice and good tippers to come back. Also inversely, if you’re an a**hole don’t expect them to be nice when rating you.
As a former dealer and pit boss, I rated good tippers and nice guests more on average bets.
I'd definitely be that dealer that don't give af about counting, and bet strats.. I'd be hoping for wins so I can get tipped.
What does comp system do
Incorrect. The pitboss asked later on the dealer what the player bet. Not only in the beginning, but also in the end.
Eye in the sky AI is making pit boss duties obsolete
Theyll just use a radio. Theyre never going to get rid of it. He does way more than just watch our bets
So how is this advantage?
Lazy pit bosses make this effort useless and may risk more than some people can afford. In playing high limit $200 min single deck blackjack, I martingale the first hand of each shoe then go down to the table minimum and half press on wins.
However, they always have me at $200 bet.
Dude really thinks the PB isnt watching just bc hes down the way a bit 😂
If your goal is being an advantage player, wouldn’t it be better to not have a player card? I mean free hotel and food is nice, but I imagine they track a lot more than just the size of your bed. And I know it takes ID and information to get a player card.
The way they rate people at my locale casino is based on by in amount. This makes it kinda tough.
Is this the same for Craps?
Pit bosses do not set average bets for players, that is a floor supervisors responsibility.
So I don’t understand
What’s the hack ?
Damn - now I wanna try this.
does it make sense to get a players card? Why let them track you?
I just become friends with the pitboss, and you get taken care off almost every time, this is called “business relations”
#artofwar
Bros acting like the dealer isnt an employee
Thats right, dont play logically, bet big only when the pit boss is there.. . Cuz you might get a free 30$ buffet after losing hundreds..
Wait till they start tracking all your bets electronically
Idk why they dont already. They just need a scanner, not motion trackers.
Because we won't realize you're doing that... be polite, tip your dealers, we'll give you a more than fair average. Some comp systems are based on average bet and time of play, others almost completely stress win/loss. Be polite, that's the best way to get what you want.
Gotta ask, why though?
