That‘s where I am from. I was born in Friedberg Germany, where Elvis was stationed with the 3rd Armored Division. What most people do not know, is that in the neighbor town Butzbach Johnny Cash gave a gig for the GIs once in the US base located in the Butzbach castle. There is an Elvis Festival held in Bad Nauheim every year in August. This year in 2022 it will be on August 18th.
Dhimmi25 I wonder if any of Elvis people go to the German Festival like Joe Esposito and Charlie Hodge all those people that was with Elvis in 1958-1960.
I live in Australia , my Daddy was 3rd cousin to Vernon Presley , & oh boy I'm a huge fan as well , his music is great , still the KING 4EVER !!!!🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
Great video. Elvis played his last full show in my town. One of my Dad’s business partners played music with Elvis at the Louisiana Hayride in Shreveport, Louisiana. Elvis played 40 shows there. The family still has a Martin guitar that Elvis borrowed and played on stage. Elvis used to stay at the home of one of our past employee’s wife’s home. They have all passed away. It used to be funny because the husband would still get jealous of Elvis even though it was from the 1950’s era. LOL Their house had the most Elvis memorabilia I have ever seen. There is a music festival in Shreveport called the James Burton Music Festival, he was one of the great guitarist that played in Elvis’s band and he still performs on tours.
HOLA MIKE THE GIV YOU ARE THE STARR. WITHIN A VERY ANCIENT COSMIC SPIRITUAL JOURNEY.... each moment is very precious. LOVE YOUR ARTISTIC CREATIVE ENERGY GRACIAS DRIVE SAFE GIV MIKE ELVIS WAS LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF HIS TIME HE WAS A FANTASTIC ARTIST..

And please do a sit down interview of your mom. Ask her about her childhood, how she met your dad, what are her favorite actors, movies and most of all ask her what Mike got into as a kid lol. That would be so interesting
Mike don’t stop doing what you’re doing. I love seeing the pictures match ups. I will never go to these places, so I get to see them because of you. I loved Elvis. His downfall was his success. I can’t imagine being hounded 24/7 with no peace to enjoy life. Keep up the great work Mike. And I love your mom ❤️❤️
it's true...and not to beat a dead horse...but I can even relate to worrying about being bored when I first moved to Florida from Chicago I slept on my couch for many years because I just never thought I was going to stay and I didn't want to make that commitment to settling down in my house in Florida
I have a real Elvis ticket framed with a small or little black and white photo of Elvis at top and the ticket on the bottom, it's from the last concert 1977 that never happened. thanks Mike for sharing your mother's Elvis collection and your mother she's so sweet and cute
If I lived in that house, I would have welcomed you and your sweet mom for a cup of tea or coffee and give you a house tour. Great video ! I love Elvis. I own a vintage Elvis picture/ frame that was given to me by a patient at a nursing home I worked at.
GIV, really enjoying this change of pace in GERMANY! Love Germany. Been there twice and it's so majestic and beautiful. Thank you for sharing your home, your beautiful mom and "gogo" and friends. Nice journey you are taking us on! Take Care!!
my uncle Hansludwig lived right next to Elvis when he lived in Bad nauheim. He said that there was a line of people who wanted an autograph every evening. I assume my uncle spoke to him as his neighbor but I have no idea what they ever talked about
I lived in that house right after Elvis left. My Father was in the Army and we lived there while we waited for on base quarters at Butzbach. I remember one time when we we leaving we were interviewed and had photos taken by a Swedish magazine.
Mike don't stop what you are doing because you do it well! It's shouldn't matter if people will be bored, It's your video,You film what makes you and your mother feel happy! Have a great time 😊
Thank you for this video. Very interesting. Lovely to see where Elvis stayed in Germany and the places where he walked. I'm reminiscing these Elvis steps with you... looking forward to video no. 2. Best wishes, South Africa. 👍⚡🇿🇦
I do care and feel kind of what you are feeling. Elvis was amazing. So was Michael jacksson. I really like the videos you are doing. Showing us america and germany plus your beutiful mother. I have been subscribed for a long time and i hope you continue to make videos.
When Elvis took to the stage he had an aura about him, alongside his great talent that touched every human beings soul that listened to him singing on stage. And I’ll never forget, towards the end of his life, when he was on meds and he put on weight, you could sense, when he sang, “and now the time is near” he was letting us know, consciously or unconsciously his life was ending. And I remember, watching him on telly, in concert with my mum, a year or so before my mum passed, I had glass eyes, and felt emotion inside, not just for Elvis, but also mourning the loss of my mum, because I knew my mums health was poorly, and she was living on borrowed time. 🙏🏻🕊❤️
Excellent work Mike. The circle is complete. Years ago we had the chance to visit Tupelo, MS, where Elvis was born and his humble beginnings. A few days later, we drove to Memphis, TN to visit Graceland. It was awe inspiring, just seeing his mansion, the wall-to-wall record awards and Grammy awards, and lastly, his final resting place. Thanks again and RIP Elvis…
I’m so glad you stayed in Germany and did this episode. Can’t wait for part 2. I loved Elvis. I had a crush on him. I was like 8 (1968) and asked my granny to call the radio station to request a song, “Return to Sender!” I thought it was return to Cinda (like a girls name) lol! I got to see him live in Richmond, VA in 1972 (I think) with my aunt Tootsie. What a hoot. When he left the stage after several encores, I told her let’s go find him. We went to the lowest level in the coliseum and saw him get into a random white Ford 4 door and take off. What a night. Thank you for sharing this. Yes you got it right, it’s important to remember history and reminisce about where someone stood or how they looked. What a terrific film you pulled off! Exquisite. Thank you so much. Say hello to your mom. Just stay over there and be with her. I’ve only seen your shows from Germany, none from US. It suits you and I love seeing Germany. Thank you so very much! ❤️😘
Thank you Mike, and your Mum. Really nice video. I must say, i wasn't a big fan of Elvis until this Day of August 2023, as i decided to go to Bad Nauheim with my old Peugeot 304 from 1972. I got the same feelings like you, to see all the places here, where Elvis lived from Oct. '58 to March '60. I was and I'm still living a wonderful tale, really fantastic.❤ Many thanks again. R.I.P. Elvis!
Mike that was fantastic absolutely fantastic! I know exactly how you feel, because I would feel the same way about being someplace where Elvis was, and so much history. What an incredible entertainer he was, I saw him twice in the early 70s at the Anaheim convention Center and the Long Beach arena. It was incredible! He had something very special. I think it’s fantastic that the German people are so sentimental and that they love Elvis so much. The whole world loves Elvis. Thanks, once again, you did a perfect job on this video, I can’t wait for part two. Mom puts a smile on my face, what a sweet sweet lady. Maybe you could do a video on that huge arena they built for the 1936 Olympic games. That would be very interesting.
I went to graceland back in 1975 and got some pictures by the gate, I live in Oklahoma, Elvis was still alive when I went. My wife went to one of his concerts in 76, I was born in 58
I am a diehard Elvis fan and had my school books plastered with his photos. Looking forward to Part II. I saw on the new that Priscilla, Lisa and Lisa's 3 daughters all put their handprints and signatures at the Chinese Theatre area a few days ago in conjunction with the upcoming Elvis film. Grohman (spelling)
Just caught this channel. I served at Ray Barracks in 1986 to 1988. 2nd/82 FA 3rd Armored Division. My wife and I at the time had an apartment in Melbach off Steinfurther Weg.
